How to rename existing Place ?

I have got a GPS Camera. If I took 100 pictures in the same city but at 20 different places within iPhoto will give automatically the name of the city for each places. Later if I want to rename the places to get the details for each (fore example city hall, city park...) there is no possibility to change the name for the location.
- In Info : the option "rename exisitng place" appears but doeas not work it never changes the name
- In Manage locations / Place : it shoes only the places manually added not the places automatically added with the photos gps coordinates
Any idea ?

I've had the same problem and it drives me crazy.  Worse is that sometimes I can rename a place (which then adds it to "My Places") and sometimes it keeps on reverting back to the name chosen by iPhoto (and then it still doesn't exist in "My Places").  Fortunately, I have found a way to circumvent the problem even though it is tedious.  Here are my steps...
1) Select the picture you want to change (yellow border showing) with the Info panel visible
2) Go to the iPhoto->Preferences...->Advanced menu panel
3) Change Look up Places: from "Automatically" to "Never"
4) The map in the Info panel will now still show the location, but the name will be (Places lookup disabled)
5) Click on the red pin and a new dialog box with the automatic name will pop up
6) Type in the new name you desire for the location and click the check mark
7) Go back to the iPhoto->Preferences...->Advanced menu panel
8) Change Look up Places: back from "Never" to "Automatically"
9) The map panel should now show the new name and the location will show up in your "My Places"
I hope this helps.

  • How to rename existing members in an Essbase Outline

    Hi there,
    I would like to do as follows:
    1. List all members at Level-0 of a specified dimension (or parent member) that have names matching a wildcard string. e.g. names begining with 'JWC'.
    2. Delete the Level-0 members that satisfy the above condition. I must verify the list from 1 above before deleting the members.
    3. Rename remaining/existing members at Level-0 of the dimension (or parent member) specified above by attaching a required prefix to the existing name.
    Note:
    1. I am working with an historical cube and I must preserve past year data. Hence I cannot select "Remove Unspecified" on the dimension build rule as my current data set contains data for current year only.
    *kp> The level-0 members that I need deleted contains data for current year only, hence I can safely delete them.
    2. I am expecting some sort of script/s (CALC or Maxl?) that will allow me to do the above tasks (List, Delete, Rename) without any manual input.
    3. I must get this done by 31 Jan and before rolling out the oldest year data. Hence I urgently need your help here!
    Kind regards,
    Kamlesh.

    Thank you for your response. Being a novice, I must
    say that I am quite hesitant in taking steps that I
    am unfamiliar with, esp when dealing with a
    production cube that takes about 6hrs to load when I
    have a limited timeframe! However with additional
    guidance (see my kp>comments below), I may be able to
    try your method.No problem, we were all novices once upon a time ;-)
    > - export the outline using the Olap Underground
    Outline Extractor
    (http://www.appliedolap.com/default.asp?ID=51)
    p> Can I export the outline to just any location as I
    believe it will simply be a text file?Correct.
    > - do the necessary clean up to the exported
    outline text file
    kp> If this is the same delete & rename steps I want
    done, then I need help on some kind of script that
    will allow me to do this as it involves 1000s of L0
    members. (I am also considering the tips from Glenn)
    > - make a backup of your cube
    kp> I did. Just curious - the L0 members that I need
    deleted have actually been added via a change I made
    to the dim build rule. I had saved the cube folder
    before running the rule. I would normally restore the
    entire folder so that all components are in sync.
    Just one doubt: can I copy/paste the changed dim
    build & data load rules to another location, restore
    the cube from backup, and then simply copy/paste the
    saved rule files to replace the old ones? This will
    save me from having to delete the new L0 members.My suggestion is to tear down and rebuild based upon the edited outline export. If you find it easier to work in the outline directly, or to modify your load rules, that is your choice.
    > - export L0 data in columns from cube
    kp> Will the same Olap Underground Outline Extractor
    utility enable me to do this?No, this is a standard operation in Essbase. You should be able to do an export either from a MaxL session or from the console. Check the docs for details.
    > - build a load rule to load the export (so you
    can ignore errors from records that will no longer
    load)
    kp> Is there anything I need to be aware of here as I
    must get all the data reloaded onto original cube.If the members to be deleted have no data, then there should be no errors. If they do have data but the members will not be rebuilt, you will have to redirect where the data should load to. That will either mean editing the load data to point to the new member names, using alternate aliases, or recreating the load data for the new member names. Hard to be more specific as you situation may vary.
    > - reset and rebuild the cube using the edited
    outline export file
    kp> I am assuming I can manually delete the parent
    members and then run the rule based on the export
    file to rebuild the dimensions?Yes, the idea is to edit the outline text file to meet your new requirements and then to build the cube again. You can either manually clear the dimension of all members or rebuild with the revised outline file using a Remove Unspecified option load rule.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    Still learning iPhoto 11. I've manually tagged some photos for my home address, but they've been named a different name to what I want.
    How do I change it? I've tried highlighting photos, open info bar, click on the name of the photos on the little map, it allows me to overtype it, but when I press return it reverts to original name.
    Also can you rename it to what you want? eg instead of a road name/place, can you call it something like "home" or "your local park" etc?

  • How to update Business place & Section Code for posted Documents

    Hi,
    I want to update business place and section code in existing documents, How to update business place and section code in the posted Documents. Is there any validation to check business place and section code while posting Document.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards
    Raj

    Hi Raynaju,
    Business place is an organizational unit and  it below company code level that is primarily used for reporting taxes on sales/purchases.
    For that no need to go for validation.Go to the field status and give the Business place & Section Code as required fields.
    There is a option in SAP as Document change rules.There give the company code,field name and account type
    Now you can change the fileds in posted document itself.
    May be this information is useful to you
    If you have any doubt feel free to ask

  • How do I subdivide "Places" tags?

    On Premiere Elements 12, I have some "Places" tags that I were generated on earlier versions of Photoshop Elements.  E.g. a tag for "House".  I used to be able to subdivide this tag into "Garage" or "Kitchen", etc.  Now, I can only rename, delete, or place it on the map.  I can not add a sub tag to it.  Is this correcct?
    How do I subdivide Place tags?

    Reg1987
    In Elements Organizer 12
    House Category
    and, after clicking on 3 New Category in above screenshot, is seen after typing in House
    After clicking OK to Create Category dialog, House is now one of the Keywords categories along with Nature, Color, Photography, and Other.
    For House sub-category of Kitchen...right click House in the list of categories
    And, after clicking on 2 Create new sub-category in the third screenshot, is seen the following after typing in Kitchen
    After clicking OK to Create Sub-Category dialog, Kitchen is now one of the House sub-categories
    If sub-category under Kitchen is required, right click Kitchen and select create new sub-category. And, so on.....
    If a new category is wanted to join House and the rest, go to and click the triangle at the top right of the line that displays the header name Keywords.
    Please review and then let us know if you are OK with the details. Double check for any typing errors. Should be OK. Have proofread several times already.
    Thanks.

  • How to rename a site without accessing the Central Admin if there is a treshold...

    SP2010 - I'm SCA of a site collection...
    I need to rename a site, (site settings, title etc), but when  I rename and try to save, it says   "The
    attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator."
    ok I understand the problem, but I don't have access to Central Admin and increase the Treshold or whatever.
    I need to do that within the Site collection  - I've rights use Sandbox solution.
    Please advise how to rename the site?  (LINK)

    As Alex said, it is one of the biggest weaknesses in SharePoint.
    You need to decide when and how you are going to reduce the size of the list.  And put a governance policy (written document that is vetted through management) in place that states that lists need to be below the default 5000 item limit.
    I DO NOT recommend increasing the limit, although I have seen companies do this.  All it leads to is the eventual crash of your farm and many, many more lists that then need to be paired down.
    to fix your issue though, you could increase the limit, then export the list to excel, then decrease the limit back to default 5000 and then do your work in excel by parsing the list into however many you want, based on some criteria that you decide (date,
    unit numbers, or what ever makes sense)
    then import the excel files to new lists, after you have the new lists imported, business could test, then you could increase the limit one more time, so you can delete the original list.
    and for renaming the site, if you don't want to do all the list work, you could increase the limit, and rename the site with set-spsite, assuming you're using host named site collections.  If you're using path based, you could export the site, then
    create the site and all its subsites, and perform the import; which is one more reason why HNSC is the way to go.

  • Renaming existing VLANs in UCS Manager

    Hi guys
    I would like to find out the possibility of renaming existing VLANs in UCS Manager 2.1.3b or a link where I can get the info or how to do doc best practices.
    Thanks a million,
    Ziccho_Virt

    Hello,
    This feature is not available any of the UCS releases at this time. A workaround if you
    need to make the name change to your existing VLAN, would be to create a new VLAN with the
    name you would prefer and with the same VLAN ID. Then apply this VLAN (with the new name)
    to the interfaces as needed (vNICs and Ethernet uplinks). Once you are certain that you
    have added the "new" VLAN to all interfaces as needed, you may remove the original VLAN
    from each interface. Once the original VLAN is removed from the interfaces, you can then
    delete it from the LAN tab altogether.
    Please note that the above is an unofficial workaround.
    There is an enhancement logged for this behavior. You can follow it's status using this link:

  • How to rename a column name in a table? Thanks first!

    I tried to drop a column age from table student by writing the
    following in the sql plus environment as :
    SQL> alter table student drop column age ;
    but I found the following error
    ORA-00905: 缺少关键字 (Lack of Key word)
    I have oracle enterprise edition 8.0.5 installed at windows 2000
    thank you
    And I want to know how to rename a column name in a table?
    thanks

    In Oracle 8i, your syntax would have worked.  However, if I
    recall correctly, in Oracle 8.0, you can't rename or drop a
    column directly.  One way to get around that problem is to
    create another table based on a select statement from your
    original table, providing the new column name as an alias if you
    want to change the column name, or omitting that column from the
    select statement if you just want to drop it.  Then drop the
    original table.  Then re-create the original table based on a
    select statement from the other table.  Then you can drop the
    other table.  Here is an example:
    CREATE TABLE temporary_table_name
    AS
    SELECT age AS new_column_name,
           other_columns
    FROM   student
    DROP TABLE student
    CREATE TABLE student
    AS
    SELECT *
    FROM   temporary_table_name
    DROP TABLE temporary_table_name
    Something that you need to consider before doing this is
    dependencies.  You need to make a list of all your dependecies
    before you do this, so that you can re-create them afterwards.
    If there are a lot of them, it might be worthwhile to do
    something else, like creating a view with an alias for the
    column or just providing an alias in a select.  It depends on
    what you need the different column name for.

  • How to Rename a Topic ID in Map File to Avoid Conflict with Another Program?

    Robo 8 HTML:
    Can somebody assist me in understanding how to rename a topic ID in my map.h file?
    An application programmer informs me there are nine topic IDs (shown below) in my project map file which conflict with predefined names of constants/functions from the Visual Studio Libs program and, is requesting I change the names of the topics listed below to resolve topic ID conflict in order to enable F1 call for these topics.
    #define Open    59
    #define Save    60
    #define Print   63
    #define Cut     72
    #define Copy    73
    #define Paste   74
    #define Clear   75
    #define Status  81
    #define Substructure  139
    Can I simply alter the topic names and retain their associated map numbers in <Create/Edit Map ID> dialog to resolve the map file conflict with Visual Studio Libs program functions? Or, is there more work involved in changing a topic name in a map.h file?
    Any assistance with this question is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    robert

    Hi,
    Simply renaming the TopicID's in the .h file won't work. The TopicID is used in the alias file (projectname.ali) to link a map number with a topic. Also, you can use either TopicID's or map numbers to call the help. (Using TopicID's only works for WebHelp afaik.)
    If you use map numbers to call the help, you can rename the TopicID using the mentioned dialog. No problem.
    If you want to change the ID from the files, you have to change both the .h file as the .ali file. No changes to topics needed.
