How to render to 720p mp4 file in PE9
I 've been a happy user of Sony Vegas for quite some years, but now I'm giving Premiere Elements a go. Seems to me like the obvious is hidden far away! I'd like to render my movie to a pretty standard format for publishing on vimeo or youtube: mp4-format, 1280x720, 5000kbps bitrate. This should be pretty obvious, but right now, I really kind find a way to do this. Who can help me?
If you go to Share/Computer/MOV and click the Advanced button, you'll find options for creating an H.264 file to almost any specs.
The file will come out with an MOV suffix, but you can change it to MP4 if you'd like. It will function either way.

IMovie quitting unexpectedly while importing 720p MP4 files
I'm running iMovie/FinalCutPro on Yosemite ,and every time I try and import a 720p MP4 with 60FPS both programs quit unexpectedly while generating the thumbnails. The files I am using have run/imported without any problems into Quicktime, VLC, Adobe Premiere and my brother's iMovie on his Macbook Pro machine.
What I have done in no particular order:
1. Cache/preferences cleaning
2. Re-install iMovie
3. Delete all codecs except AIC and AppleMPEG2
4. Install codecs (Perian, divx, xvid)
5. Delete Flash Player
6. Repair permissions
7. Repair hard drive in safe mode
8. Delete iPhoto database, tinker with GarageBand
9. I logged in as a guest user and the problem persists
10. 540p MP4 with 30FPS and that had no problem importing into iMovie
I believe I have isolated the issue to a quicktime engine that causes both iMovie and Final Cut Pro to crash. I could use Adobe Premiere or another machine, but I prefer iMovie and would like it to work on my machine. The only solution I can think of is reinstalling the OS, but I really am against that. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Please see the Problem Report below:

How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again. Also they might remove them from internet so I can't rely on the bookmark to them.
I'm trying to send home movies to my 10 year old nephew who lives across the country. He doesn't have a computer. He has an iPod touch. His parents have computers. But I don't want everything I ever try to have him do result in "you need your parent's computer for this." It's getting really embarrassing. I have converted my family over to Apple computers but now they want to buy iPhones, iPads, and iPods even though I tell them to go Android. It took a decade to convert them away from windows now I'm trying to keep them away from these freedom limited iOS devices and they won't listen. Then it becomes my responsibility to make their iPads print to their fancy pre-airprint color laser jet printers, get home movies onto them, and countless other things. It's driving me nuts.
I have converted these files to a format that the iOS devices will play directly off of dropbox. Now, how do I get the infernal devices to save it instead of play it? -

You don't, as ringtones are a one time purchase and as such can't be redownloaded.
If you still have them on your iTunes library, you may sinc them from there.
If you have a backup that contains them, you may restore your phone from that backup.
Or you can go to expresslane.apple.com and try for a re-issue. Which they do only occasionally and depending on the circumstances. -

i have converted some online videos to MP4 files. They are in my iTunes home movies folder but I can't hear them in my music play list. How do I make this happen? Do they need converting to aac files?
If they are still movies with video then they won't appear under music in iTunes because they are movies.
It is possible to use tools (e.g., MPEG Streamclip > save track ) to split audio and video tracks, leaving you with a file that is essentially .mp4 (audio) = aac = m4a This should appear in iTunes under music. You might find it works better if you change the file extension to ".m4a" instead of leaving it as .mp4 which iTunes may still interpret as a movie. -

I went to Share-export with Quick Time and changed the file format to MPEG4 but the quality is really bad. The size is small 300x200 something and picture quality is really bad.
How to produce a video easiest in iMovie which suits best for the webb (in HD quality). Not all people have Quick Time so .mov is not suitable. And .m4v files don't play very well on webb. They get stuck.

Are you now using GarageBand 10.0?
Then import the movie,
Track menu > Show Movie Track
File menu > Movie > Open Movie
Mix the sound track song
Then use the "File" menu > Movie > Export Audio to Movie.
This will write the audio aa an audio track into the imported movie.

Are you trying to burn it to the DVD so it is just a file on the DVD? If so you can use the Finder or Toast.
OR are you trying to create a standard video DVD capable of playing in any commercial video DVD player? If so, have you tried launching iDVD and then dropping the mp4 into the movie area? If that doesn't work, have you tried launching iMovie and dropping the mp4 into it? -

it I have a video that I made in .mp4 format and in my iTunes 11 library. In iTunes 10, you could convert it so it was compatible with mobile devices (in my case and iPod touch 4G). Is this still possible in iTunes 11, and if so, how do I do it? I tried just moving the unconverted video to my iPod, but that doesn't work.

If you want to copy an attachment from an email then you can't do that directly from the Mail app. If the email is still on your provider's server then you should be able to read the email on your provider's site via a browser on your computer and save it from there directly on your computer. Otherwise you will need to copy the file from the Mail app to another app on your iPad via the 'open in' function. Do you have an app on your iPad that supports the type of file that you want to copy ? How you then copy the file to your computer will depend upon what the app that you copy it to supports - different apps have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, dropbox etc -

I think he may have just updated Quicktime to 7.1 and there is a problem with the sound not playing. At least that is the probelm I am having on an mp4 that played yesterday before I updated

How do I delete invisible MP4 files from my FLIP video camera attached by USB?
Hello! I have a FLIP video camera attached to my MacBook by USB. The FLIP has invisible files (old videos that I have previously deleted from the camera) that I want to delete. I can see them in Finder using File/Find/Other/Invisible Files but I ****cannot**** seem to delete them. The "move to trash" option is not available in Finder/File. When I drag the files to trash they don't actually move.
