How to rent a movie on one appletv and watch it on 2nd appletv.

I have 2 appletv's that sync from my imac. I like to purchase movies on each appletv, but I don't know how to see what I purchase on one appletv from the other appletv. Can the appletv's see each other or do I have to purchase the move twice?

You can sync both ATVs to the same library, or select the library from the Computers list in the ATV as a shared library and stream it. If you purchased the movie directly on one of the ATVs, you can sync or stream it to the other one once it has synced back to your library. You can't sync or stream directly from one ATV to the other.

your Apple ID is bound to the country it is registered.
Your option would be either create an additional Apple ID that is for USA, or change the country of the current one

If you decide to change the current ID - you will be prompted to update your billing information, therefore you have to have an address in USA and since you would like to purchase/rent - you may need a credit card that is issued in USA.

To view the movie you rented with your Mac on your iPad you would sync it from the Mac to the iPad.

If you rented the movie on your computer, but want to watch it on an iOS device, connect the devices and sync using USB. When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as often as you want, but you can only have it on one device at a time.
If you rented the movie on your iOS device or Apple TV, you can’t move it to any other device.
To watch an HD movie, you need to play it on a supported device: your computer, iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or TV using Apple TV.

If you moved them to your iPad then they will have been removed from your Mac. If you sign into your old account using your iPhone and turn on contacts (Settings > iCloud) then once all of your contacts are on your iPhone turn contacts back off and select keep on my iPhone. Then delete account on the old account and sign in with your new iCloud account and turn on contacts and select merge. That will get your contacts over.
If you have photos stored in iCloud it will be in My Photo Stream. This section only keeps the last 30 days of auto uploads from any of your devices or computers that are using this feature. You can access these photos by signing into the old iCloud account in Settings > iCloud and enable Photos > My Photo Stream. If you have any photos in there, they will load into your Photos App. In the Photos App, tap Albums in the bottom right, then tap My Photo Stream. There is no way to upload them to your new iCloud account once you sign into it short of creating a Shared Photo Stream and inviting yourself to it.
In the end you should really try to keep one Apple ID for everything when possible as there is no way to merge Apple IDs and you can end up in a tangled mess.

Apple TV uses iTunes. The reason you can't rent through your ATV is because you can't rent movies through iTunes Canada. Sadly, as this is a user-to-user forum, no one here would know when or if rentals will come to Canada.

Rented a movie but it stopped and won't continue.

Posting for a friend: She rented a movie through iTunes and was watching it on her MacBook Pro. After about an hour it stopped, and wouldn't continue. She could go back to the beginning and start over, but when she tried to move past the point at which it had stopped, it would not.
Any ideas? Especially on how to contact actual Apple/iTunes tech support to actually fix this situation?

It sounds like the rental never finished downloading. Try the download process again.

As far as the prices, the difference is likely the laptop version is the SD version and the iPad one is available in HD. That's the only reason you'll see a price difference. It has nothing to do with the device with movies/movie rentals. Apps yes, these no.
