How to reopen last seen files automatically on apps like on mountain lion?

when i use Finder, i like to leave my documents open and quit the app, so that the next time I open it, I can continue on reading whatever I left opened
on the last session, the same goes for the rest of the apps.
I could do that on Mountain Lion and i'm pretty shure there was an option to configure that feature, but maveriks seem to omit this option, and i can't figure out
how to do it in this OS X.
any help greeted!
thanks.

  • Reopen last edited files automatically

Is is possible in Dreamweaver to save all currently opened files (current session), so after closing and reopening dreamweaver these files would automatically open for editing, so I could continue from where I have ended. For now I have to reopen all files everytime I start dreamweaver.
Good example of what Im thinking is in Opera Web Browser where I can save current session (all currenlty opened web pages) and load them again when ever i want.
    Thank you.
    ANSWER:
Just found it. Partly It is possible (only with last session, you cannot save currently opened files to reopen them later when ever you want - this would be great new feature). If someone is looking for this go to Edit -> Preferences... -> Reopen documents on startup

  • How to download older version of iPhoto from App Store on Mountain lion

I bought iPhoto in App Store 03.11.12 for Mountain Lion. When I changet a country in my Apple ID all my previous purchases disappeared from list. Couple of weeks ago I upgraded my OS X to Mavericks and of course I upgraded iPhoto too. But Mavericks works much worse on my Mac, maybe model of my Mac is too old. So I decided to downgraded it back to Mountain Lion. But when I want to install iPhoto again it jump out a sign that I can't install it because my OS X is too old and I need OS X Mavericks. What need I do to install iPhoto on my Mac?

Tell us what issues you're having and we may be able to find a solution.  How much free space do you have on your MBP.  You are running 9.5 and Mavericks, correct?
Explain in detail what problems you're having, i.e. what you see, any messages you're getting, etc.

How do you have a file automatically open in mail, like a Constant Contact email?
    Thanks,

If there is a way to automatically open an attached file in a Mail item, it is not one that I would use, because I want to stay in control of my Mac!  Who is it from, whats in it and so on... To me bad idea but then the choice is yours.

Thank you for all of your answer.

I've seen it mentioned on here that a PRAM reset may solve it:
    Reset PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

Need to read a .swf file in os 10.8.5, Mountain Lion.  Caon;t load flash player in this os. How can I do it?

    Oh, OK...
...go to your Downloads folder. There will be (a lot by now!) files with a .dmg extension. Double click that file and it will open like a hard drive icon on your Desktop or in your Sidebar. Therein will be an "Install Flash Player.pkg" file (or something like that). Dounle-click the installer and Flash Player will install. It may take a few minutes. After it installs (it may tell you to close your browser(s) that are open before it will install - I don't recall) you may need to quit and restart your browser.
Give it a shot - call back if no joy.

  • Tap to click not working properly in Mountain Lion. How do I get apple to fix this major issue with mountain lion?

The tap to click does not work with mountain lion as it did before the mountain lion install. I purchased a brand new imac in August of 2011 and got a wireless keyboard and selected the wireless trackpad instead of a mouse.  The trackpad worked wonderful pre upgrade with tap to click. Now after the install of the newest beast, I have to actually press the trackpad rather than a slight tap. I have carpel tunnel and this is causing great stress upon my hand. How do I get apple to fix this major issue with mountain lion?

Perhaps, I was not clear enough.
I have an imac purchased in Aug. 2011 which came with Lion 10.6 (two uprades before mountain lion)
Recently, I just purchased a macbook pro retina with Mountain Lion
On my imac, my settings allowed me to "tap to click" everything EXCEPT the initial log in at the star up of my imac, again running Lion 10.6
On my macbook pro retina which has Mountain Lion, I set up the "tap to click" option, but notice that a "hard" click was neccessary when trying to click things. I thought this was a macbook thing (my first one) so I went and upgraded my imac to Mountain LIon, BIG MISTAKE! Now both my imac AND my macbook only have limited "tap to click" options. Before mountain lion I could "tap" to highlight and select text, tap and drag, and many other thiings that Mountain Lion has disabled.
I am truly surprised that no one has noticed this MAJOR issue.
Is there a way to uninstall this update, similar to how on a PC you can go back to a restore point.
On another note even the way PREVIEW has changed is less user friendly, there used to be icons on the bottom right corner of the screen, now I have to double tap and select the option I would like to switch between contacts and thumbnails. This is really annoying and is causing me time when reviewing files.
Just in case anyone was wondering, I did go to system preferences -> trackpad -> select tap to click
In fact almost all of the trackpad functions have been selected.

  • How do I find a past event(s) in calendar on mountain lion

How do I find a past event(s) in calendar on mountain lion without manually going back day by day? I would ike to be able to use Calendar as a searchable log.  I do not care about syncing with iOS, just finding an event or notes in an event, such as "oil change", "research paper turned in", "dr. appt."  The find function only works on future evernts.

I tried the "year" view, but it makes not difference.  A Spotlight search does not present the info in a calendar format, only in an events and reminders format. It also only seems to be finding the "today" view, but it is impossible to be sure since it only shows a time for the event but no date.  There has to be a way to find the last time or all the times I made a Dr.'s appointment without going through an entire year or more day by day.

  • HT204053 how do i update from OS X 10.5.8 to Mountain Lion?

How do I update fro OS X 10.5.5 to Mountain Lion?

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.

  • How do I move from os x 10.5.8 to Mountain Lion?

How do I upgrade from OS X 10.5.8 to Mountain Lion?

You have enough memory, however it can be bumbed up to 8GB
    (2-4GB modules) 2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
Install/upgrade RAM or storage drive in Mac's
You have a Intel Core 2 Duo and a old NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, so 10.8 is going to run slow.
10.6.8 max would be best for that machine as it's 4 years old, in it's near end of life stage.
If you backup your files off the machine to a Storage Drive, then erase and install 10.6 fresh from the disk, the machine will run very fast, because 10.6 has updated video drivers.
    Most commonly used backup methods
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
You can then choose to go to 10.8 from there, but it's not going to be as fast as 10.6 is.
If you upgrade 10.6 over 10.5, then go to 10.8, your machine is going to crawl really bad, so somewhere you have to do a fresh install to get your performance.
You will have to call Apple via phone and order the 10.6.3 white retail disks, they only take phone orders for that disk now.

I can purchase other apps, why not Mountain Lion.   I get the same message on my wife's IMAC.

The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down.  Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.

  • How do I upgrade my iMac from OSX10.5.8 to Mountain Lion?

How do I upgrade my iMac from OSX10.5.8 to Mountain Lion? I'm guessing I have to first purchase Snow Leopard? Is there anyway to download or upgrade online?

First, determine how high you can upgrade.
SL requires an Intel processor and 1 GB RAM, though more RAM is better.
Lion requires Core2Duo processor and 2 GB RAM, though more RAM is better.
Mountain Lion has higher requirements: http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
Also review applications that do not work under Lion or ML to see if you will lose critical functionality: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Research first, as too many have discovered only after the upgrade that things are lost to them.
You can buy SL or Lion from 1-800-MY-APPLE.  SL is a disk ($19 single disk license, $29 for 5-user license).  Lion will be a $19 download code to use in App Store that you get with SL.
