How to reorder a shared photostream?

I made an Aperture project and shared it via an iCloud photostream. Then I decided to edit the original of one of the pictures, and at the bottom of the window Aperture gratifyingly claimed to be updating my shared photostream. Only thing is, it didn't. So I deleted the photo from the shared stream and reimported the edited version. Now  in the shared photostream it is out of order (has come in at the end) and I can find no way to edit the order of the photos on the shared stream in order to put the order back as it was.

You cannot reorder the photos in the stream. They will always show in the order they have been added to the stream.
You can only copy the photos out of the stream to an event, delete the photos from the stream, then add them again in the sequence you want. I would not do that, however, if I am sharing the stream with other parties, because it will create a lot of network traffic, and your friends may not want to have to download all photos again.

I use Windows7.  How can I download shared photostream photos from others' shared photosteam photos using ICloud?

How are you doing the downloading?
If you download raw files with iPhoto, iPhoto can only edit the JPEG preview that is embedded with each raw file. iPhoto is not a true raw editor, because it's a consumer-level product, not professional-level.
The files should remain in RAW format if you download any of these ways, by using:
Apple Image Capture (in your Utilities folder)
Canon Digital Photo Professional (comes with your camera, but since the 40D is so old, go to the Canon site and upgrade your copy to the latest version for compatibility with the latest Mac OS X)
    Apple Aperture
    Adobe Lightroom
Any other professional raw organizer/editor like Capture One

  • TS3989 I don't see a Share Photo Stream checkbox in my iPhoto preferences - how can I download shared photostreams to my mac?

I'm using iPhoto 9.4.2 and trying to view my shared photo streams on my macbook air. The instructions on the apple website tell me I need to select the checkbox on the Share Photo Stream in iPhoto preferences. This is an image of my preference pane and I can't see the relevant checkbox. Any help appreciated...

  • With ios 7 how can I add videos from a shared photostream to my camera roll?

When I am viewing a shared photostream that I subscribe to I am able to select photos and add them to my camera roll (essentially saving someone's shared photos to my device).  Now that you can add videos to shared photostreams with ios 7 I was hoping to be able to do the same with videos.  However, when I view a shared vieo and attempt to save it to my camera roll it is not an option.  Any ideas on how to do this?

To save photos/video from the photo stream to your camera roll, select it, click the share button, and select "save to camera roll". It will remain in the photo stream as well, until you delete it.

  • HT201077 As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others. Only I can see them. How come others sharing this photo stream are not getting the new photos?

As of recently any photos I add to a shared photostream will not update for others and I don't see the updated photos on my other devices. Only I can see them from the device that i've posted from. How come others sharing this photostream are no longer getting the new photos? My iphone (the device i'm adding from) shows 20 pictures in this shared photostream and yet 4 other people that I share this photostream album with and my ipad only show 12 photos. For the past week I keep adding photos thinking people will see them but it just won't update the new ones. Any ideas how to fix this?

You can stop new photos being automatically added to Photostream in iPhoto from iPhoto preferences > Photostream.

  • TS3989 How do you  add more people to a shared photostream in iCloud

I have set up a shared photostream and a couple of people have access . I want to expand the access to more people - how do I do this without deleting the photostream and starting again?

    Dear Tildeline,
The above answer was for the iPad.
To add/delete people or delete the stream on your iPhone, tap on the little blue arrow on the right side of your photostream, in the photostream overview tab within the Photos app (do not go inside the stream).
    Best regards,

  • How do I save photo's from a shared photostream that I have subscribed to, to my PC?

I was invited to subscribe to a shared photostream, I can now access these pictures on my iPhone. I want to save all of these pictures on my PC, is there an easy way of doing this?
I expected to see these pictures in my 'Photo Stream' folder on my PC under the 'Shared' folder.
There are about 900 pictures, will it take some time for these to appear?
    Any pointers/help would be appreciated,
    Thanks.

Hey there, i made this mistake also what your doing is looking in the Photostream Viewer found in (Other Drives) section of Computer. If you look in the Photostream folder (Mine is located in the Pictures Library) you will find a folder labeled shared.
Photostream folder location is set in the iCloud Settings under Control Panel. Photostream options button.
    Hope this helps.

  • How long do shared PhotoStreams stay published?

I realize that PhotoStream saves up to 1,000 photos and 30 days worth of images. What about Shared PhotoStreams? Will they just disappear after 30 days? And, do shared photos count against the 1,000 photo limit?

I actually found the FAQ for Shared Photo Streams and the answer is:
    Do shared streams ever expire?
No. Shared streams are removed from iCloud only if you delete the photo stream.

    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS.

  • HT4890 Shared photoStream not working for public share

Shared photoStream not working for public share and keep showing the same url for the first shared stream i have published. this means everytime i try to share to anyone else not using an iphone it comes up with page not found. I have also notice the in first initial public url which was given is the same url keeps showing up everytime i try to make it public. how do i reset or change that url so other public share stream will work. how do i get this to work

I've read some posts from users with a similar problem who were able to fix this by changing the download folder (or just click Change next to Download Folder, then click cancel).  Not sure if this will work for you but thought I would pass it along.

  • Missing thumbnails in shared photostreams

On an iMac running latest Mavericks, this is the home of my photo library and this is where I create shared photostreams. When I go into those shared photostreams, most of the thumbnails are missing. Only the ones from after December 23 appear; that coincides with when I installed Yosemite and then reverted to Mavericks using a fresh Time Machine backup. I can double-click the empty box and get the image, and I can right-click and select "find in library" so it certainly knows what image is supposed to be there and actually has it.
None of the options in the repair menu (repair thumbnails, etc.) have had any effect whatsoever. The images all show on our devices so it seems the cloud part is OK; the problem appears to be just within the Mac.
I'm pretty sure I could just recreate them all but that is a PITA in several ways, both for me to figure out which ones they are and also for the subscribers to get a whole new version of the same album(s). Clearly this is broken somehow. Any idea how I can fix it?

    Try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and Photo Sharing in iPhoto's iCloud preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. See if that will jump start Photo Sharing and Shared Photo Streams..

  • Max number of photos in "shared photostream"?

What is the maximum number of photos that can be shared in the new "shared photostream" in iOS 6?

I just came again across the Photo Stream FAQ: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
How many photos can be stored in Shared Photo Streams on my devices and computers?
Unlike My Photo Stream, shared photo streams are not rolling collections. Any new photos that you add to a shared photo stream do not replace your older photos. A shared photo stream can hold a maximum of 1,000 photos. When you reach your limit, you must delete some photos before adding new ones.
I wonder if the pictures in the Shared Photo Stream count against your "regular" Photo Stream?
Does Photo Stream use my iCloud storage?
No. Photos uploaded to My Photo Stream or Shared Photo Streams do not count against your iCloud storage.
It really would help if the information about "Shared Photo Streams" were to be found in the "Shared PhotoStream" documents and not only in the gereral "My Photo Stream" articles.
