Ipad was dropped on concrete, corner hit and face surface striated, showing series of cracks. Still usable, but I'd like to know how to get it repaired.
Possible? If so, how?

Broken screen is not a user repairable item...you need to visit an Apple store genius bar or Apple Authorized repair service to have it replaced. If you have AppleCare you are allowed one out-of-warranty damage repair for a reduced price.

You should have been syncing your contacts with your computer from day one. Your computer is where all of your inof should live. The iphone simply allows it to be protable. Have you failed to keep your contacts on your computer?
All pics taken with your iphone should be imported to your computer regularly as you would with any digital computer. Have you failed to do this?

Repair cracked screen?

Looking for a regional (North Virginia) directory of technicieans or outfits that do the simple screen relacement.

Apple does not approve of people fixing their phones on the cheap. It comes with a risk too if you take it to someone that does not know anything they will break your phone. The whole phone has to literally come apart to do the lens and plenty of ribbons are there to disconnect pulling one too hard could rip it. Try Craiglist or do a Google search for your hometown for repair shops. They are everywhere this days. Within 5 miles where I live there are 3 different cellphone repair shops.

I wouldn't pay $199 to get the screen replaced. That doesnt justify the cost of the phone. A 4s can be bought for nearly the same price used and you still run the risk of breaking it again.
Go to a local repair shop in your area and they could do it for under $70 and do a professional job about it.

If the device was not purchased in the US, an Apple store in the US will not touch it.
