How to repair the Application Manager?

I installed the TCS 4, but the Adobe Application Manager refuses to start and prompts me to reinstall because it "is damaged". But even after installing the latest version available, the problem persists. What can I do? (Win7, VM) Any help appreciated.

Please follow the mentioned steps:
1. Go to the mentioned path: C/ Program Files(X86)/Common Files/ Adobe/ and rename OOBE/Caps/Backup. Download AAM and try to install.
2. Run the cleaner tool to remove any previous instance of AAM and try to install it.

  • How can I flush/repair installed programs in the Application Manager / Creative Cloud?

Hi. I had installed a few of the Adobe programs through the Application Manager/Creative Cloud service on a Windows 7 system. The system crashed, forcing me to recover from a prior time backup, which was from before I installed the programs. Now, the Adobe Application Manager shows the prior programs as "Installed", and will not allow me to re-install them. These programs *do not* appear in Window's "Uninstall Programs" listing for me to uninstall manually, *nor* do they appear in the Start Menu to launch. And as far as I can tell, they no longer have Registry entries.
How do I flush the Application Manager to tell it that I do not have these programs installed anymore, or force it to re-install?
    Thanks.

I don't believe the data on what is installed and what is not is held at Adobe; I think it is in your particular instance of the AAM that "knows" what is installed.
I'm not sure what happened to me will help you or not but... Also, I have a Mac not a Win7 system.
In my case, I had Acrobat X Pro and I download Acrobat XI. Acrobat does not like to install when there is an older version already on the machine. Adobe tells you to unistall the older version and then install the new version. Why this isn't in their install scripts is beyond me. The installer for Acrobat XI ran sucessfully. I didn't realize the problem until I went to open a PDF.
I manually uninstalled Acrobat X. Still had problems. Then I manually uninstalled Acrobat XI. (Both times I used the uninstaller Adobe provides.) I started AAM and it showed the XI installed. I tried the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. The tool is supposed to clear out any left overs after an uninstall and thus "flush" AAM. When I ran the Cleaner, Acrobat XI didn't show up in the list of programs. I eventually found a second uninstaller for Acrobat XI that cleaned things up such that AAM agreed I needed to install the software.
With the disk-based installs, when you ran the installer you got an option to "repair" the current installation. Why you have to jump through all the hoops that AAM has not is beyond me. It would seem more rational to put options into AAM directly to let you re-install things or repair them. This is one where Adobe dropped the ball.

  • How do I uninstall the Application Manager?

After a difficult installation of Creative Cloud, my Windows 7 64-bit Desktop freezes after a period of time ranging from minutes to hours.  Desktop icons won’t launch, and context menus won’t display.  Quick Launch icons still work OK.
I asked a computer guru with a broad range of knowledge about this. He says he’s seen this before, and it involves processes running in the background.  He recommends using the Adobe cleaner tool to remove the Application Manager.  Yesterday I found a post on where to get it and how to use it, but today, I can’t find it.
So my question is, “Where do I get the cleaner tool and how do I use it to remove just the Application Manager?”

Cwcsdc are you saying that you are experiencing slow performance over multiple Adobe Creative applications?  You can find information on the cleaner tool at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  You may want to consider though posting to a couple of the specific product forums if you are experiencing performance issues however.  The CS Cleaner Tool is more likely to help when an install has failed and the Creative application is unable to even open.

  • Acrobat X not installed, although that's not what the Application Manager thinks!

I just tried to download and install several apps from Creative Cloud the first of which was Acrobat X Pro.
Once Acrobat had downloaded the Application Manager asked me to quit Safari to complete the installation, however, since I was still downloading the other apps I cancelled the installation assuming that I could go back and restart the installation at a later time.
All the other Apps (Illustrator, Photoshop and Muse) downloaded and installed fine, but, now when I try to go back and restart/reinstall Acrobat the Application Manager tells me that it is already Installed, when clearly it isn't.
Anyone have any ideas as to how I can reinstall Acrobat?

Did you try repairing the installaton from the Control Panel: Program and features?

  • How to install Adobe Application Manager?

How to install Adobe Application Manager? I downloaded it, but can't install.
Just purchased the CC for photographers.  Have been using Photoshop since version 3.
I have been studying your support docs for several days and have no business messing around with something called, .gz files and installation logs. Totally unsuccessful "Updating" my CS6 or CS6 bridge or Extension Manager or the Adobe Support Advisor by the CC Desktop.
Have no Photoshop CS6 because I followed your CC support instructions.
Uninstalled my CS6 today so I can finish a job tomorrow.  Bad decision on my part because I can't reinstall it and am unable to correct
    this problem.
I was able to use CC to update LR, but am absolutely too afraid to touch it now.
I have been waiting inline for Chat also, but the numbers ahead of me are going up.
If someone in this Community forum can help me, it would be fabulous.
    Thanks very much.

    Uninstalled Creative Cloud.
Downloaded it again - 4th time.
Deleted a AAMDetect file from the Library/Internet Plug-ins
Downloaded and installed Adobe App Manager and an icon for it is on my Desktop
    Installed Creative Cloud.
    OK.
Now how do get my Photoshop CS6 back before I download Photoshop CC?
CS6 is not listed in the available Apps in the CC Desktop.
Support wait time right now is 2 hours by phone.
After sitting on Chat yesterday only to see the people "waiting ahead of me" go from 17 to 18, I gave up.
    Please advise.
    Thanks again.

  • Failed installation: How to rerun Adobe Application Manager updates for Photoshop CS6

    Hi.
The installation of  Adobe Extension Manager CS6 failed - while 2 others update for Photoshop CS6 did intall. I was installing Adobe Reader X .
That's why I discovered the notication from the application manager about updates for CS6 - and I just confirmed that as well.
Apparently the Reader installation blocked only the update installation of Adobe Extension Manager CS6 - saying another installation process was running ... such stuff happens sometimes.
However, it seems Adobes Application Manager update module does not track its failed installations? It does not automatically advertise that update has not been installed and notifiying me again to install it. At least not immediately ...
So how do I rerun the Adobe Application Manager update moduel to check for updates manually?

    You go Photoshop CS6 > Help > Updates ...

  • How do I get Application Manager to recognize that Photoshop is not installed?

Application Manager says that Photoshop CS6 is installed. It isn't. I've rebooted the Mac and it still says it's installed.  What installed was a partial or corrupt file which I have trashed. How do I get Application Manager to recognize that Photoshop is not installed so I can download and install it again?  Thanks.

Do you have an uninstaller available to you in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder?  If so then please run the uninstaller.
If you don't then please utilize the uninstallers available in this folder to remove all currently installed Adobe Creative Software.  You will then want to follow this by running the CS Cleaner tool.  You can find details on the use of the CS Cleaner tool at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

However all the apps I have installed say they're up to date with a green check:
Does anyone know how I cian get rid of the update icon telling me I have 1 update?

  • How to completely remove Application Manager 6

...and all associated files so I can reinstall it.
Here's the issue.  The Application Manager on my Mac running 10.6.8 will not launch or update or install manually.  This is the second time this issue has occured.  The first time I was able to locate instructions as to how to completely remove it but I lost that link so I'm looking for some help.
    Thanks!

To remove the Application Manager run the Cleaner Tool and from the drop-down in the top right choose Creative Cloud. Then select Creative Cloud Installer and click the button for 'Cleanup selected'. Then next time you try to download an application from the Creative Cloud Apps page (https://creative.adobe.com/apps) you will be asked to download the Application Manager again. An alternative place to get the Application Manager for Mac is from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.
I just ran through these steps on my Mac laptop and they worked.

  • Disappearing Apps in the Application Manager

    Hi,
I bought Creative Suite and installed nearly all apps on my MacBook and Photoshop and InDesign on my PC. Now I wanted to intall the rest of the apps on my PC too, but e.G. Permiere and AfterEffects are not any more showing up in the Application manager. How can I install Premiere now on my PC?

If they don't show up, your system doesn't support them. Refer to the system specs for the programs. If you feel that's not right, you need to provide more info.

Lavransrm the AAMDetect plug-in is either blocked or not installed in the current web browser.  Please begin the installation process directly through the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  For additional information on how to install the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership please see Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps.

  • Skip the Application manager - get the Trials

I spent most of last night fighting with the Application Manager. Sometimes it would download, or not. Same with installation when the package was already downloaded. There was no consistency in which apps it would or wouldn't finish. I was able to finally get them all installed, but it took a while. Choosing "retry" would sometimes work. The Application Manager also gave my system a Kernel Panic. Twice.
    Suggestions I've tried:
    - the font deletion method
    - the cleaner app
    - the Disk Utility preferences change
    - restarting the system
    - repairing disk permissions
    None of these worked.
The only thing I've seen in working in these threads is to skip the Application Manager and download the Trials, activating with your Creative Cloud Adobe ID. If this is the only full proof way to do this, why even bother making / using the Application Manager. The other method is what retail and business users use and seems to work fine.
Even though I finally have everything installed I'm downloading the trials in case I need to do a re install in the future. Maybe by then Adobe will have worked this out. I like the simplicity of the Application Manager but in practice it's ineffective.
    Setup for reference:
edit : added nots about Kernel Panics.

It's OK. Stop the download, and try another trial download (choose the same language  you've ordered!) manually.
    Don't think there's any download limit !

I have the white paper explaining how Grid Control discovers databases, listeners, application servers, etc. But I am not able to find a paper that tells how the Application Manager discovers the Oracle applications. Does anyone know of such a paper or which perl scripts are run?

One of the biggest problems I have run into when doing these discoveries is that the agent and iAS and/or Oracle are owned by different users and the agent does not have permissions to read the configuration files.
You situation may be a bit different.
If the host is real busy, it sometimes takes a long time to load the gathered information into the repository. From looking at your log file, this may be your issue.
How busy is the server(s) and database for you OMS and OEM database?

  • Im trying to install photoshop but the application manager says its up to date. What does it mean?

Ive just bought a year subscription to creative cloud so that I could use photoshop for editing. When I try to down load the software it says its up to date but there is currently no photoshop on my computer.
I did use the free trial some time ago but I since removed it. How do I reinstall photoshop?

Mac or Win? How did you remove the previously installed Photoshop trial? Did you use the uninstaller, or did you just drag it to Trash?
The Application Manager finds signs that Ps is already installed on your machine. Do you have any other Adobe creative software installed as well?
I think that it might be best to remove all traces of and then attempt a fresh reinstall. Use http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html to clean up your system and reinstal the software.
