How to repair Windows 7 if it doesn't allow on reboot?

I was playing Tera Online when it randomly just froze. I didn't think much of it but then my entire laptop froze. So I thought.. OKay... No problem. I forced a restart. But instead it went to the System Repair. I've NEVER had this issue before so I'm kind
of extremely confused on what to do next. I tried searching online and everything for hours but have had no success.
I have an HP Pavilion g Series. My sister was nice enough to lend me her laptop to help search online for solutions.
This is what the problem details tell me:

I have the Windows 7 Home Premium disc in but nothing ever shows up. I don't get the options to load Startup Menu before the Microsoft Windows logo shows, before it goes to the repair. I'm at a loss right now. I have no clue what else to do and I really
don't have ANY money to buy an entire new laptop so... Please, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. I'm extremely desperate at this point now.
Also: I don't know if this is the right forum, I've never had to ask for help like this for any of my computers before so I apologize...

Hi,
Firstly, you can let system startup repair fix this problem automatically for test, if failed, you may need to try other methods to fix this problem.
Secondly, Pressing F8 during computer bootup, If you could boot into recovery mode, then try to make system restore to revert your system to a former normal time point.
If failed, you need to use Windows installation disc to repair your system for test.

    I'm very glad that helped!
    It's good you looked in the Manual first. Certainly not everyone does that.
    With Apple products, I've found that not everything is completely documented, but sometimes if you try something that seems like it should work, it actually does work.
    That's how I personally learned about this feature.

  • Re: How to repair Windows components?

    How to repair individual Windows components without format & reinstalling the whole OS?
    Here OS is Vista

    Hi!
    I think you should give us a little bit more details like your notebook model.
    And you should say what components you mean exactly.
    This is not very clear what you posted.
    Look in the control panel and Add/Remove programs. There you change Windows components and remove the software.

  • Satellite C55-A-1N1 - How to repair Windows 8.1 after trying Linux?

    Hi,
    Laptop: Satellite C55-A-1N1
    In my infinite wisdom I tried to install Linux in a dual boot scenario like my old laptop. I shrunk the main windows partition in windows 8.1 first and then installed linux to that partition. After rebooting, Linux worked but not windows since I had to disable secure boot and set bios to CSM for linux to load.
    After putting secure boot back to on and bios to EFI, windows no longer boots. I tried to repair the windows operating system by running the repair tools from another Win8.1 DVD but they didn't repair the booting. I subsequently learned that holding zero at boot brings you to the hidden recovery partition.........except my doesn't!
    So, I have checked the windows and recovery partitions are intact but I cannot get to the recovery partition or repair the windows installation with windows 8.1 repair tools. No, I don't have any backups, other images or system restore options. Clever, aren't I? I only have the original recovery partition (which I can't access) and windows partition to play with. I don't want to lose my OEM Windows 8.1 license...
    Any ideas how to salvage this windows installation?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    You have made the same mistake as many other people. On this forum we have discussed so many times how it works and tried to explain how all this works.
    In users manuals is clearly described that every notebook owner should create recovery media (DVD or USB) and this created recovery media can be used for recovery image installation in case that HDD recovery option doesn't work or in case that HDD is defective and must be replaced.
    As I can see you don't have this recovery media. Fact is that HDD recovery installation can be started if notebook has factory settings only. After your Linux experiment this option is gone and there is no way to start it again.
    What you can do now? I know it sounds stupid now but if you want to install original recovery image you need to order new recovery media and it can be done on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • How to repair Windows XP?

    I've just recovered from the error that says "windows\system32\config/System is corrupt or missing" by inserting my XP setup disc and chosing to install a fresh Windows on drive D rather than C. Drive C already has Windows on there (my bad Windows) and I didn't want to overwrite it because of all my drivers and programs etc.
    How do I repair my installation on drive C?
    Thanks,
    Lewislite

    Hello, I'm back
    I have just formated Drive C and kissed good bye to the Windows that wouldn't work and reinstalled XP Pro. During the lengthy process of installing the fresh copy of Windows, I encountered Delayed Write Failed error messages, yes DURING the installation, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? They just don't seem to leave me alone! The installation just hanged after the messages began to pop up, saying approx 24mins left. I waited for half an hour - still 24mins left. I powered off and tried again this time getting to 9mins left before being attacked by those dreaded error messages. The third installation - successful, phew!
    But why on Earth does Windows take so long to startup now? I switch my laptop on and straight after the Toshiba bootscreen, a loading bar shows up and this loading bar takes about 5 minutes before I'm taken to the XP bootscreen! Why?
    Edit: Doesn't show loading bar any more, jumps straight to bootscreen. However, my computer still acts strange and my cursor is still jumpy. I think both my hard drives are screwed.

  • How to create an error message which doesn't allow submitting form ?

    Hi,
    is there a way to create an error message so that the user can't submit the form until the error is solved?
    On my form I am doing some validation checks when the user hits the button to submit the form via e-mail.
    So if something on the form isn't filleld out correctly the user gets an error message. But after the user has clicked ok on the error message he can still send the form.
    So I am searching for a way that he can only submit the form if he has resolved the problems.
    I tried with
    xfa.host.messageBox("material is not valid!" , "error", 0);
    but this only shows the error messagen and doesn't prevent the next step.
    Can I solve this with using a different type of error message, or user different parameters at the messageBox?
    Thanks for your help.
    Martin

    hi Martin Beyer
    try like this.
    in submit button CLICK event u have to right validation for fields which u want to check.
    example :  here iam validating two varibles.
    var sub=0;
    if(sub==0)
    if(fields2.item(i).rawValue == null && fields.item(i).rawValue != null)
         sub++;
         xfa.host.messageBox("Status of Achievement is Mandatory");
         xfa.host.setFocus(fields2.item(i));
         break;
    if(sub==0)
              var Repe = xfa.host.messageBox("Do you want to Submit now???", "Warning", 2, 2);
              if (Repe == 4)
                   sub=0;
              else
                   sub++;
    hope it will help you.

  • How to create Windows 7 System bootable/repair DVD

    I want to create Win 7 bootable disc using HP Recvery discs or Win 7 tool: 'Create system repair disc'.
    How do I do that as well as create ISO file to make USB bootable?
    How do I create bootable UDF ISO?
    I've HP Recovery discs but they recover the system to factory state, so I want bootable media so that I can use it just re-install Win and not format whole HDD.

    I think you are missing the distinction between the different types of utilities.
    A repair disk give one the ability to repair Windows boot functionality.  It does not reinstall Windows.
    You can download a Windows 7 iso, but that will format the entire disk and not return your notebook to factory state.
    Only the HP Recovery usb media or recovery disk set will do that
    You can't reinstall Windows without deleting and recreating partitions of the hard disk.

  • How do I repair Windows?

    Greetings,
    My computer had a virus two weeks ago, and now Windows Firewall isn't working. Can I repair Windows without having to reinstall it? The manual says to insert the CD, reboot, and follow the onscreen instructions, which are:
    Startup Repair: no software problems found
    System Restore: 3 restore points created after infection
    System Image Recovery: no images available
    Windows Memory Diagnostic: no hardware problems found
    Command Prompt
    Recovery Manager: this just runs Check Disk. No problems found.
    How can I repair Windows? Option #6 (Recovery Manager) just has an option to run Check Disk.
    Thanks,
    Shane.
    HP Pavilion dv7-4180us
    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

    I ran the Fix-It utility, and it found that File Sharing and Remote Assistance were turned off, but I've actually turned these off myself, and no other problems were found.
    System File Checker didn't find any "integrity violations".
    I downloaded X17-58997.iso and created a Windows DVD. When I booted from the disk, I was very hopeful because the second option was "repair". When the repair option ran, though, it just presented me with the first five options you see above in my first post.
    Am I really missing something here? I'm sure there was a repair option in previous versions of Windows. I just can't seem to find it in Windows 7.
    Thanks,
    Shane.

  • My Iphoto doesn't work. Suddenly I lost all my pics. Someone know how to repair it?

    My Iphoto doesn't work. Suddenly I lost all my pics.The version is the last one.
    Someone know how to repair it?

    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How to repair corrupt \windows\system32\config\system files?

    T61 will not boot to Win XP - says the \windows\system32\config\system file is missing or corrupt.
    BIOS hardware test of disk drive passes.  When I place a Microsoft Win XP disk  to attempt a repair, the message says there is no disk drive detected. I assume this is due to unique Lenovo HDD drivers that are not on the Microsoft disk.
    Is there a way to repair this file(s) without doing a full HDD reformat?
    THank you.

    You need to include the Intel Matrix Storage manager via Floppy disk while running setup-CD or change in BIOS "Config"-SATA" to compatibility.
    Then you can repair windows but first backup the hard drive onto annother disk f.ex with Acronis True Image Home (Emergency CD).
    Boot from XP Retail-CD
    `select "Install"
    select the drive with the found windows installation and  "Repir"
    Windows Setup removes the system files and replaces them from CD
    after systemreboot you willneed to re-install all patches and updates

  • How to install Windows 8.1 Pro on Macbook Pro

    Hello everyone,
         I'm new to these forums and new to bootcamping as well but have been reading all kinds of posts about how to install Windows 8.1 on their Macs using bootcamp. I am however having trouble with this situation as I have no clue what to do next. I have a Macbook Pro 2011, running on Maverics, and I recently downloaded a digital copy of Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit, for the Mac platform, along with its CD key through my University's hub website as can be seen here.
    After finishing the downloading process, I received this file which is about 4GB large.
    When i double click on the file this happens. It opens something on DEVICES which gives me what is on the 2nd image.
    At this point, I'm at a loss on what to do next. Do i burn the file on a DVD hoping that Bootcamp will recognize it as a windows disc? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

    You need a 'Full' Installer.
    From Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions - Apple Support
    Which versions of Windows work with Boot Camp 5.1?
    Boot Camp 5.1 supports 64-bit, non-Enterprise versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1. This version of Boot Camp doesn't support Windows XP, Windows Vista, or any 32-bit version of Windows. Depending on your Mac, you may be able to use an earlier version of Boot Camp to work with other versions of Windows. For details, see the Boot Camp system requirements for Microsoft Windows.
    Can I perform an upgrade install from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows?
    It's not possible to upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows. Back up your important files, then perform a new install of the 64-bit version of Windows.

  • How to install Windows 7 from a USB drive!

    This is even easier than installing Windows XP from a USB drive, and will also reduce the time taken to install Windows 7, it took me about 15 minutes!
    The advice in the guide is also applicable to installing Vista.
    You need basically:
    a USB flash drive at least 4GB in size
    a Windows 7 DVD
    To sum up:
    Format your USB drive, with the NTFS filesystem
    Open Command Prompt as an administrator, and run the Bootsect.exe program off the Windows 7 CD to make the USB drive bootable
    Copy the contents of the Windows 7 DVD to the USB drive
    Restart your PC, press F11 (or whichever key it is) to access the Boot menu, and select your USB drive to boot from

    I have done this and it is simple.
    I cleaned and (re)formated an 8GB flash drive under Windows7 using diskpart.  I chose quick format and a fat filesystem.  It doesn't need to be ntfs.  I had diskpart mark the partition active.  I copied the DVD contents to the flash drive.  I also made a folder on it for motherboard drivers.
    After that, I booted the drive on a new machine.  Windows7 setup came up, and didn't find any hard drives, other than the USB flash drive.  I clicked the button to load drivers, and pointed it to the folder I had copied them to on the flash.  Windows installed without problems.
    Hi bnborg..Do u mind sharing with me your motherboard driver folder? I have the MSI U135DX Netbook and each time I hit the button to install Windows 7 it asks me for some mobo driver...Think i might need it to get tru with a successful install..
