How to replace audio in a comp track

Howdy Logic Users...
I have a comp track that contains several takes. I have already finished quick swipe editing between takes. Now I would like to select one of the takes and relink the region to a different file in my audio bin. My goal is to replace one take with a different audio file while NOT changing the quick swipe editing. Is this possible?

While your answer is helpful, it's not a desired solution for me because the comp track is one channel of a multi-channel recording (two different mics). I don't want to drag a new take into the comp track because the comp track is grouped with other comp tracks for editing purposes, and I don't want to disturb the editing I've already done.
It seems like I "should" be able to select a region in the arrange window and "re-link" the file to any other file in the audio bin (thereby replacing the file with the other). After years of working in graphic layout programs, such as Adobe InDesign, I'm expecting this sort of feature to exist already. I'm pretty sure I've seen it before... but I've used Cubase, Digital Performer, Studio One and Pro Tools, and I'm not sure where I saw it.
Have I described what I'm looking for clearly? I'm not sure it's coming across in what I've written. Can Logic do this?

I've never used muxers under Linux, but you can try mpegdemux.

Providing you don't need the video synced or cut to a beat, all you need to do is place your music in the primary storyline
Connect your video above.
While your video is connected, hit CMD+R on your keyboard and stretch the video to the length of the music
If you were to cut the video to a beat, simply add markers on your music track, then connect and trim clips to your markers.

How to replace audio in existing edit?

I've got some edited footage that I want to improve the audio for by processing in Adobe Audition. In the future, I will pre-process all my clips and then perform the edit, but I don't have the luxury of that with this project. I know I can edit the audio clips in Audition with the right-click option and the audio gets replaced, but that causes each edit to be clipped at both ends, whereas the original clip was from a larger clip and dropped in the timeline with in/out points. The difference being that I can cross-fade the original edit from shot to shot. With an Audition replaced edit, the ends are clipped and you can't do that.
So, my question is whether or not there is some other method of processing the audio in external applications and replacing them in the existing edit without disturbing the edit?

To answer your original question, I know of now easy way of processing your clips and replacing the existing ones already edited.
If I have this right you have your sequence fully edited?
There is a workaround, messy and time consuming but it will not spoil the video element of the sequence.
Process: -
Drag the audio for each clip so that it is on a track with space at either end of it.
Unlink each clip.
For every audio clip extend each audio's head and tail
Then use the edit in Audition link
The clips are individually processed
Then you can go back adjust the head and tail to what you want and fade out and in as you wish.
I'd manually fade each clip rather than add an audio transition
Take care not to alter the video clips at any time or you will go out of sync

You can use Audacity to record you voice - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
export Audacity audio file (your voice track) as an MP3
Import this MP3 into PPro
Lock video track and delete original unwanted audio track
select your new mp3 and paste to time line of the deleted audio track
Test and adjust if audio needs to be In-sync etc.
When happy with new audio track and video unlock video track.
Locking the video track allows just the audio track to be edited.

I have a workflow issue working with Pluraleyes 3 and FCPX.
MY CONTEXT
So I imported all my clips into FCPX (about 300 from camera 1, about 300 from camera 2 and separate audio which ran almost with only very few interruptions on set).
I synced everything with PE which gives me back the following :
1. a new Event with replaced audio clips.
2. a new Event with one giant multicam clip.
3. a new project completely synced BUT with the non-replaced audio clips
MY PROBLEMS
1. Problem is that the clips have additional transparent frames before and after their actual video (i.e. PE makes new clips from video and longer bits of audio that do not begin/end at the same time).
2. The giant multicam clip has plenty of chunks where audio was recorded but where no video was.
MY QUESTIONS
PE has created plenty of useless clip lengths. How can I get rid of them with some batch process ?
OR if I say that another way
How can I create an EVENT that contains clips with the exact same length as the originals, only with the corresponding audio replaced ? (Please remind that I have LOTS of clips)
Moreover, the clips within the new events created by PE have (not surprisingly) lost all keywords I gave to the clips before syncing with PE. Is there any way to fix this ?

Is there way to "bounce between locators" to render audio within a comp?
In editing my vocal comp, I realized that I needed to extract a better version. So I just want to render the one phrase that I need and have it output to a separate track, or the audio bin, or wherever. I don't need to bounce the whole track and waste time and memory.

I answered my own question, in case anybody else had the same question.
It's simple...just set the locator and bounce. To bounce the whole song, you set the locator for the whole song.

Highlight the clip in the Project window and then Clip - Audio Options - Breakout to Mono.
You will get two mono tracks as separate files in the project window but they won't be linked to the video clip

How to fix audio tracks

I am unsure how I managed this little feat, but I did and now I can't fix it..
I have a section of stereo audio in tracks a1a2 Somehow though a2 has moved under the next section of video and pushed the a2 down to a7. I can't get the a2 track back under it's corresponding a1 section.... I took a screen grab of it, not sure how to share it with you.
Any ideas how I can fix this?

Post the screen shot on the web somewhere and then post the URL here.
Select the audio and assuming they're a stereo pair switch them to mono tracks in the Modify menu. When that's done hold the Option key and select the audio in A7 so it's selected separately. Move the audio to the correct track.

How would you do this? CD tracks from one large audio file

I just recorded in a live concert into Soundtrack Pro. The file was recorded at 16bit & 44.1KHz. I want to make a CD of this without any gaps. I am curious how to put in markers/CD tracks so that I can jump to each song.
Anyone know of a way to do this without breaking all the audio up into individual files?

Afaik, there's no way to do it in STP without doing independent audio files for each track. In theory, you could create an audio file for each track, don't have any space between each track and burn your CD DAO (Disk-At-Once) and everything should be fine. However, I'd rather have one long file and just put markers where you want the track indexes. If you have Waveburner, you can do this with it. If you don't, Peak can do this as well but my new favorite software for that job is Wave Editor:

I have recorded two different comp tracks for lead singing of project
And now I have two different tracks with a lot of takes to choose from in each one of them
I would like to merge the two into one comp track with all the takes so it will be easier to edit
Is there any way to do that?
By the way, there is no reason why I made 2 tracks for the same singing part. Now it seems to be a mistake...

Basically, you need to unpack one (or both) sets of Take Folders, and then merge the two together:
Working on the basic assumption (for discussion purposes) that you have two tracks, each with Take Folders on them.
Method 1:
Select each Take Folder on track 2 and click-hold on the arrow top right of the folder. Choose Upack to new tracks. Carefully select the new regions and drag/drop them onto the Take Folders on Track 1.
Method 2
Unpack ALL Take folders on both tracks, Select all the regions and use the Region:Folder:Pack Take Folder function to re-pack into a new Take.

How to lock audio to video track?

If I place a video track on the timeline, the audio comes along and is automatically locked with the video track. If I want to add a NEW audio track (recorded separately), there doesn't seem to be a way to lock that audio with the video track once it's synced. Or am I missing something?

Select the video & audio tracks and then do *Modify > Link*
And to double-protect the sync'ing, put a marker on each of the video & audio tracks at a common point (playhead at the same point in the timeline) so that if they ever get separated it will be easier to line them back up.
