How to replace the keyboard on a Portege R500/R600

Hi,
I would like to replace my keyboard, I'm going to buy a new keyboard soon. I've done this flawlessly with multiple laptops before, but for the R500/R600 it's not comletely clear how to lift the old one out properly.
Are there any screws to remove (except the one on the side) or is it "just lifting it out"?

Unfortunately, this is everything what I know. A friend of mine has got such R500 and the ASP changed the keyboard because he spilled a fluid on the keyboard.
I talked to him and everything what he said was that there are some double-sided tapes
However, the R500 is really a nice notebook and it would be really pity if you would damage some other notebook parts during the keyboard replacement.
And to be honest I doubt that the replace would take a longer time
So in my personal opinion I would take the help from ASP so you would be on the safe side

I thought this would be a simple google search but that's not the case. Any mix of the words "replace t500 keyboard manual" or similar just turns up forums posts, so can I ask where I am supposed to find this?

Hi,
The guy in this video does it in the first two minutes then he continues to disassemble his G60 notebook . It would be wise to remove the battery first. It can be done with shoes on.

Couple of my Laptop key's are not working (key-B,N,CAPS,F12,etc)..may i know the exact reason?as i try yo restore my lapotp with one month back date but its not working.If any troubleshoot steps i can do it please share me.otherwise please let me know if how i can replace the laptop keyboard.please let me know the details method of methods step by step method i can do my self to avoid engineer's visit in my house.

Keys normally stop working because of spillage of sticky substance (coffee, sugared tea, etc.) that causes the key to no longer move as it should.
Here is a video that shows how to replace the keyboard.

Can I replace the keyboard of CQ56-115DX?

Hi, I have a brand new CQ56-115DX. It comes with a non-standard keyboard which makes typing quite inconvenient---I am used to the standard keyboard and frequently hit the quick launch keys when I need to use "Tab", "Shift" and "Ctrl".
This is very annoying to me. I would like to replace the keyboard with for example: the keyboard for CQ61.
Can you let me know if the CQ61 keyboard would be compatible? If not, is there any other compatible standard keyboard that I can use? I know how to replace the keyboard just need to find compatible parts. Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
In answer to your request, I am attaching the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Within you can find the procedure for replacing the keyboard correctly, as well as as the part numbers for the supported, compatible keyboards. Check on page 59 of the manual for the list of replacement keyboards, and the replacement procedure.
Unfortunately, from the list, it does not appear that any of the options are backlit.

i´m here because the keyboard from my laptop is damaged some cleaning foam introduce into the keys, now my keyboard don't writte well, i need to fixed or replaced i don´t know if in my country sell this kind of keyboards for laptops but first i need to open my laptop for replace my keyboard.
Can you help me? i watch a lot of videos online but no one is for DV6-1259dx if you have how to open and replace please explain me how to do it,

Assuming you have a replacement key, or you have the one that came off...
Place the key in the correct orientation over the spot it came off of. Push down on the key so it fits into the indent that is under the key. If you hear a small snap or click, then it's locked to the plastic retainers and should not come off. If it comes up on only one side after this, then push firmly down on that side.

No, but you should bring your MBP to the "genius" bar and have them look at it as the spill could have gotten a lot deeper than the keyboard and could manifest itself at a later date. Meanwhile, you should disconnect the power adpater and batt if it's removable until you get to the Apple Store. If all else is OK, they can quote you a price for the keyboard.

How to replace keyboard on an HP ENVY 15 3040NR Laptop?

I can't find any info online regarding replacing a keyboard on this model.
All of a sudden my backspace, right-shift, and left arrow key stopped working. I have to push really hard several times to get them to work.
Tried bios update, no help.

Hi:
There is no service manual tied to the 15-1190EO.
I found one from the Envy 15-1000 series which is probably the one that would cover your model, but I am not 100% positive.

It also appears you would have a daunting task to replace the keyboard on your model as well.
Chapter 3 lists the parts and part #s, and chapter 4, the removal and replacement procedures.

I would like to replace a keyboard in my Pavilion 15-p 199sa ENERGY STAR

Last February I bought my first laptop from Currys Pc world. Once at home I noticed that the touchpad was faulty: lifted up on the upper left corner. I should have brought it back on the following day, but shame on me, I did not. Now I do not mind to pay for a new keyboard, and replace the old one to get the problem sorted out. but I do not know where or how to get it. I tried to open the link: Hp Support, Replacement parts, but this web page is not available. I sent an email to hp support and i have been told: "Based on the information provided you have purchased your unit from the Dixon's Store Group (DSG). The DSG have an agreement with HP, where they support the standard 12 month warranty on your product.
Because of this agreement with the DSG, your product is out of warranty with HP, therefore please contact your point of purchase for any support you may require". Now I do not feel to bring the laptop to Currys, because I tried to fix the touchpad and I have scratched the keyboard a bit.
Therefore, my friends be aware that when you buy an HP laptop from Currys Pc World, your product won't have any Hp warranty.
I went to Merchant Square in London to Hp Total Care Centre: but the shop has disappeared.
I will try over the phone.
(Probably it would have been the case to buy from a laptob brand that is also the laptop manufactorer)

Satallite A100: How to replace the keycaps?

Is there a manual on how to replace the keycaps after they come off?
My Satallite A100, one year old, lost two keycaps a few weeks ago, and I am unable to replace them, although I have all the (little) parts. It got even worse when some more came loose recently when my little son peeled some off, using the room created by the already missing keycaps.

Reading your posting I can not understand exactly what is wrong with your keyboard but removing and putting in place keycaps (plastic with written symbol) is not problematic. You must just put it right in place and gently press it down. You will hear click and the keycap will be in the place again.
Under this keycap is placed small plastic mechanism. It contains two small plastic parts. If they are removed from the bottom you can put them inside again. To see how it looks like remove keycap from any other key and see how is it placed.
I have done the same now and with a little bit patience you can put it in the right position again.
