Does anyone know how to replace the iPad screen? Why doesn't apple offer this as a service???

Satellite Z830 - how to replace broken Screen?

A careless family member has succeeded in cracking the screen of a fairly new Toshiba z830. It's broken quite badly, so I doubt it will be reparable.
I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on the best way to go about getting a replacement, bonus points for any information in the Melbourne area.

I'd rather not pay the $459 or 459 or whatever to get the screen fixed by Toshiba. I've had 20 laptops before, I never cracked a screen like this so easily. I didn't drop the laptop nor bump it nor squeeze it, I just transported it in my hand baggage on the airplane as I always do with many previous laptops, the Z830 screen is too fragile. I really like the screen, I like its matte finish, I like the thin and light magnesium form factor of the laptop, and swobbly screen does not bother me, except the design is just much too fragile, the glass surface of the LCD is not protected as it must be. Since I don't want to pay the $500 repair fee, and since I guess Toshiba never replaces a cracked screen under warranty? I need to know if it'll work if I buy this screen: http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/toshiba/PORTEGE~Z830-S8302/ and I need to know exactly what screw driver I need and if there is a YouTube video and/or tutorial with detailed images and explanations so that I can hopefully safely make the screen replacement myself. And thus so that I can do it for about $100 myself instead of paying Toshiba $500 to make it.
I guess it'd be best if Toshiba actually sold that screen and the necessary screw driver to DIY change a broken screen (loose warranty is ok then), does Toshiba sell the screen replacement and screw driver for Z830/Z835?

Hp india have bad service ever. I hv order three notebooks ' hp 15-ac026tx' before five days for firm. Distributior open the boxes. But at the time of installation not single driver supporting to 2gb graphics card. As distributor made with Hp support they replied the engineer will come to ur place soon. But still no one has come. How to mirror ipad screen on desktop?

Hello,
I often do web meeting from my desktop and want to get my ipad screen on my desktop. Is there any app that will display my ipad screen to desktop. My both the device are on diffrent network. Ipad is using 3g datacard and laptop is using office LAN.
I have tried teamviewer, gotomeeting, cisco webex, skype but not able to share ipad screen for all activities.
Note: using IBM Cognos Mobile App and want to share this to show mobile BI reports to my meeting users.

BEFORE YOU START:
Remove ALL power from the unit, including a modular bay battery if you have one. Then hit the power button on your keyboard a few times to make sure the unit is fully discharged.
There are 2 screws underneath 2 black stickies at the base of your screen. Take those off and unsnap the bezel revealing another 4 screws holding the screen in place.
Take those out and gently tilt the lid forward and the LCD will tip right out. (Catch it obviously)
You'll need to peel off more tape and unhook the connector.
After that just follow everything in reverse.
NOTE: BE SURE the connector is back in place solidly. If it's in there a bit loose or crooked you can cause a short in the motherboard when you turn the unit back on.
I've done plenty here. Ask away if your stuck anywhere, but it's really pretty simple compared to older models.

Such is extent of business i use my ipad 2 for; i really require to keep my current one as i have my business partners ipad and our iphones in sync sharing and creating valuable data. I doubt being in the UK is going to help keeping the costs down for me :(... I wish this was a bad dream - it had to be the 64gb + 3G didn't it :(

My Ipad just quit on me... after 97 days! I took back to Best Buy and they replace it. Of course I lost LOTS of data that was saved to the device itself. QUESTIONS: 1) How do I change over the service. I did NOT take the old SIM card. Should I go back to Best Buy and take it? Will this just make the new device automatically log on with the old ATT account? what else is on that card? Does it include data saved on the Ipad? Contacts, movies, etc? 2) Or do I just log onto the new device, sign up for the plan, and then cancell the old plan... if so, how do I do that? So yes, it would be best to get that card back.
No, it does not save data such as apps, photos, video and such. That data is stored in iTunes.
When you get the new iPad, follow the instructions here for restoring your iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414 You can restore from a backup stored on iTunes if you have one OR restore as new. Just follow the instructions.
Don't cancel any plans just yet. Set up your new iPad, then deal with the data plan with AT&T.

I took the panel off and it appears to have a part number LTN160AT02-H01. Regardless if I search ebay for a repleacement, I see what I believe are replacement panels that are LED backlit using LCD to LED converters. I also think the inverter is no longer used. So where are all the real panels and is this type of "conversion" okay? Some have a thre year warranty. It's scary enough getting a panel off ebay but I feel better if its from a chopped up PC, not this stuff.

If you open up the display housing and get the screen model you can also have a lot more choices in finding a lower cost replacement. It is a 15.4 inch lcd screen....very common and relatively inexpensive:
