I am have a unity server HW Platform is 7825I5 and i am need to replace one of HDD's in slot 0 with new one,
my question is how do replacing the HDD (I have new one) and which is the method to ensuring the two HDD is mirroring and all data are replication the same .??

BE5K to Virtual CUCM and Unity Connection 10.5(2)?

Hi,
I am migrating a CUCM and Unity Connection 8.6 from physical server to CUCM and Unity 10.5(2) and I estimate about 2-hour effort with PCD to migrate the CUCM to be ready for testing. Not sure about Unity Connection Part though. The physical server is serving 120 users with 3 remote locations(via MGCP) and complex integration with other systems. I only done greenfield deployment before...no migration/upgrade experience...
Simple/not simple questions:
1. Will the 2-hour be enough for CUCM?
2. PCD doesnot seem support migration of Unity Connection to 10.5. What is the recommended approach? Gradually move data or cutover?
3. From your experience, how long it takes for upgrading/migrating Unity Connection?
I have these 2 documents from Cisco as my reference, any other recommendations?

Thanks for pointing it out. I did not realize BE5K is not supported by PCD.
Will this be my next best bet then:
Install version 8.6.2 VM in ESXi
Export info using BAT from BE5K
Import info into 8.6.2 VM on ESXi
Upgrade the 8.6(2) VM to v10.5.x (via PCD I guess)
Test then discconnect BE5K
If I am correct, will 4-hour be enough?
I also saw some other suggested to do in-software upgrade to 9.x than export... I just feel that is too risky...BE5K is already a single point of failure what happens if in-software upgrade failed...

Satellite M110 - How to replace the HDD?

Have to replace my Hard drive as the original is f&%$ed.
I have tried to connect the original hard drive to my other laptop via a USB to Sata cable but it is not showing up. You can feel it spinning. I was able to do a HDD test on it and it failed in the Toshiba via a bootable CD. Since I can access the HDD to get to the recovery section, what is the best way to reinstall windows XP on it so I can use the original XP key on the bottom of the laptop. As I know that you usually have to have the right version or OEM copy of windows in order to use certain keys.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also would a Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD1600 8MB 160GB 2.5" SATA Hard Drive be suitable for the Toshiba as they both are SATA.

Your posting is a little bit confusing... Which HDD you using in which notebook now?
If you want to install the OS on your old/new HDD, therefore you cant use a SATA to USB converter. Therefore you have to use it as internal HDD.
Furthermore a Western Digital HDD would be suitable due SATA port. :)

I would like to replace the second HDD with a bigger one and use the replaced one as a backup-clone of my system disk.
Just did the cloning and would like to insert the clone as 1st HDD for testing purposes, but I don't know how to actually do this.
The manual describes where the HDDs are located and how to open the laptop, but how do I remove and insert them?
There is a plastic flap/strap (sorry no native speaker) that looks like you have to pull.
Tried a bit to pull upwards, but I don't dare.
Would be nice, if someone already did this and could explain it to me.

Hi,
since the HDD in the machine is connected to an special connector, you dont have to worry. Just pull it gently out and exchange the drives, nothing terrific will happen.
Just trust yourself and pull the thing out, it will just go with a little resistance, but it will go out.

I really don't like the new icon editor introduced in LabVIEW 2009:
That was nice attempt to make "embedded Photoshop" with lot of features:
But I really don't like it, because:
- it opened EVERY TIME on the RIGHT monitor (I have three monitors, and primary monitor in the middle)
- it takes lot of time for launch (old icon editor was started momentally)
- from usability point of view - it was wrong to place tools on the right side. Commonly they located on the left side (and only in old icon editor, but also in imageprocessing software like Adobe Photoshop). Also front panel UI design... hmmm... this can be better...
- some bugs or changed functionality (for example - select ROI, then press <Del> button - nothing happened)
etc...
Is it possible to replace it with old one:
Ideal solution will be - simple switch between both editors (some introduced features are not so bad).

Go into <LabVIEW>\Resource\Plugins and rename lv_icon.vi. This is the plugin that's called when you invoke the icon editor, and if it's not there, LV reverts to the built-in editor (at least today. I'm not sure how many versions ahead they will keep the code).
You should note that the editor is open source, so you can go in and change what you want (or save yourself time and use the changes others have made, such as PJM's thread here. You may also want to look at the other discussions in that group).

How to replace new version with earlier version of app?

I just downloaded to iTunes an upgrade for an app (CreditCardTerminal 3.11) & then discovered this version should NOT be installed on original iPhones. I haven't synced yet, so I still have the correct version 3.10 on the iPhone.
How can I delete 3.11 from iTunes and then re-sync 3.10 from the phone back to iTunes? When I mark iTunes to delete the app, I get a warning that syncing will delete it from the iPhone too. The one slim hope I see is that it might not delete version 3.10 on the iPhone when I delete 3.11 in iTunes if it sees them as separate apps?

I would have thought this was possible, however it seems to have been overlooked.
People with iPads are in the same situation, if they inadvertantly download an iOS4 updated app (which previously worked on 3.x) into their iTunes library, and have to reset their device, they will be unable to sync that app across.
I know iTunes puts the old version of the app into the Recycle Bin/Trash, however I would not expect the vast majority of users to be aware of this, and to even realise the differences between iOS versions.
Would it not be an idea for Apple to allow people to download the last known version of an app that was compatible with a certain OS version? Or to choose a "preferred device" or similar in their iTunes account so it will automatically filter the results? The user base of original iPhones and iPod Touches must be pretty large.

How to add new network adapter to existing hyper-v server

hello guys
now we have win2k8 r2 with installed hyper-v role.
we had a network adapter with 4 ports and these 4 NICs was installed before adding hyper-v role so we select the these 4 NICs when installing the hyper-v role as usual.
after that, we add other new network adapter with 4 NICs.
the problem that we can't see the new 4 NICs in hyper-v manager to create external connection.
any suggestions ??

Please ensure that the new NIC works properly .
I mean that you can try to set IP for that NIC to check if it works .
By the way , I added a new NIC for my hyper-v host (2008R2 ) and I can select it in virtual machine manager .

LDAP Password Error in Publisher for CUCM and Unity Connection

HI all,
We recently virtualized all our unified communications and I'm having an odd issue with LDAP Directory configuration.
When attempting to do an Ldap synch from the publisher in either CUCM OR CUC I get the following error:
Ldap Password::
- Passwords do not match
If I try to do a synch through the subscriber, directory will synch with no issues. If I redo the password and the confirm password and immediately synch without first saving,it works, but if I Save before re-synching, I get the above error.
Current Versions:
CUCM: 8.6.2.22900-9
CUC: 8.6.2ES44.22900-44
Anyone have any ideas?

situation 1: CUCM is down, Subscriber is up: Encrypted call to Unity Connection work correctly

the cert shown in the logs is the one from cucm: ("CallManager"), i recreated it through cucm os administration, now i see the same error message on unity connection for the new recreated certificate.

Actually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

Deploying unity connection at remote site with CUCM at central site

I am planning to deploy Unity connection at remote site while the CUCM is at central site only. Will appreciate of someone can shd some light on this, has anyone already deplyed same scenario , any specific requirements to take care of please ?

Yes, having your Unity Connection server at a different location than your CUCM is supported.
I cannot really help you with specifc requirements as it largely depends on exactly how you intend to deploy it and what features you intend to enable. Clustering, Digital Networking, Unified Inbox, etc.. all have their own additional requirements the whole of which would not fit into a message board post.
However, specific bandwidth and latency requirements are listed in the "System Requirements for Cisco Unity Connection Release 8.X. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/requirements/8xcucsysreqs.html
The SRND and the System Requirements should get you on the right track. I would encourage you to read both documents fully and then come back with any specific design questions you may have.

CUCM 10.5(1) and Unity Connection 9.1(2) compatibility

I'm planning to use PCD to migrate my MCS Call Manager 8.0(3) cluster to 10.5(1) early next week. I have a standalone 9.1(2) Unity Connection server and I'm reading conflicting information on Cisco's website about their compatibility. One page says they are compatible (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/compatibility/matrix/cucsccpmtx.html#46452) and another page says I have to upgrade Unity Connection to at least 10.0 (http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/vtgsca/VTGServlet). Can someone clarify this for me please?
If Unity Connection 9.1(2) is incompatible with CUCM 10.5(1) and I need to upgrade it, which procedure should I do first - or if they can safely be done at the same time. If I do Call Manager first, will Unity Connection be "dead in the water" until I get it upgraded?

If I do upgrade CUC at the same time and both CUCM (pub and sub) and CUC (standalone) are at 10.5(1), where would you host PLM? Right now I have ELM co-located on my CUC server. Our voice environment is reasonably small - less than 400 voice mail accounts and roughly 450 phones.
Also, can I upgrade CUC at the same time PCD is migrating my CUCM cluster or should this be done at a different time?

Configure Jabber for Mac with local CUCM and WebEx Connect

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been able to configure the Jabber for Mac 8.6.2 client to use the WebEx Connect presence server with a local CUCM and Unity Connection servers. The preferences accounts tab does not show or allow the addition of the voice services. I have added from a working local CUCM preferences plist file what I believe are the correct entries however I still cannot see the accounts on the preferences tab. We currently do not have a local cisco presence server hence the requirement to trial the WebEx Connect server as I can't get past the first configuration step without it.

How to set-up voice mail to email on Unity Connection 8.6

Hi all,
I need to set-up voice mail to email notification on a Unity Connection 8.6 MCS78XX server. I've read several existing threads related to the subject, but have had somewhat of a difficult time finding a posting that provided a simplified approach with either or both of the options listed below. I'm hoping and asking to receive a response (or responses) that will break it down.
The intent is to either:
A) Have new voice mail messages sent to end-user's e-mail inboxes as .wav files.
B) Have notifications be e-mailed to end-user's inboxes whenever there is a new voice mail.
Cisco Unity Single Inbox is not the preferred method at this point.

Manish, if I may... I read the 2nd thread and it mentions the addition of the Exchange IP address under the smart host field... and it appears that the Exchange will also need the IP address of the Unity Connection server for relay...
question: under the Unity SMTP config options --> Server --> SMTP Domain --> can/should this be changed over to the Unity's IP address in an environment where the Unity Server's name is not resolvable? The Unity Server in this case is not configured with DNS... please advise
