  • Does anyone know the part number for the printhead for the HP Officejet 6500a

My printer doesn't print, initally it didn't print black, then I soaked the printhead in hot water as instructed now it doesn't print at all, so I need to replace it.  Does anyone know the part number for the printhead for the HP Officejet 6500aThank You,

Hi Temprosal,I looked up the product specifications for the HP Officjet 6500a.Here are steps for ordering a new printhead: These steps apply to the United States only.If HP replaces your printhead assembly under warranty, you receive a new printhead assembly, cleaning materials, and a full set of new ink cartridges. If your printhead assembly is no longer under warranty, you can purchase a new one online.Go to the HP Parts Store website (in English).  https://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/CountryChoice.aspxUnder Find your part(s), type CN643A in the Search by part number text box.Follow the on-screen instructions to order the printhead assembly.Jean

  • 'Quick Fix' for HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer & 88XL Yellow Cartridge Popping out problem!

After reading other forum comments from people having the same problem with the yellow cartridge popping-out, combined with others who have realised that HP have no interest in compensating anyone for this rediculous example of, at best, 'bad design', or at worst 'blatent planned obsolescence', I have created a solution that may add another 1, 2 or more years of life to the HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer.
This is not the elegant technical solution I was hoping for.  However, in hindsight, it may prove to be a more reliable solution than replacing the faulty part that is actually causing the problem.  So, here it is the solution ........
I found a wooden triangular door stop that I cut to size that fitted exactly in the space between the plastic door and the offending yellow cartridge. To hold it in place, I wrapped the doorstop with 2" cellotape, then I stuck the door stop to the inside of the plastic door with double sided cellotape (double sided stick-on foam would also work well). With the doorstop in the correct place, the plastic door closed perfectly and was snug enough to apply sufficent pressure to the offending yellow cartridge, and hence stopping it from popping out again.  To make sure the plastic door does not 'fly open' with the pressure of the yellow cartridge (when it wants to pop out!), I applied another piece of 2" cellotape around the outside of the door, holding it to the body of the photocopier.
This exercise only took 10-15 mins to do.  I feel this is a much better option than spending another $300+ on a new All-in-One  system, as well as being a good environmental solution.  If this is DELIBERATE 'planned obsolescence', companies like HP need to be more accountable for, at best, 'sloppy design'.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

  • I can't find a driver for HP Officejet Pro L7580.

Updated my system to Windows 7 after years of using Vista.  Now I can't use my HP Officejet Pro L7580 because it can't find a driver to install.   Every tab says that the device is working perfectly.  I have removed all HP software...turned it off everything...rebooted...reloaded and still the message says that driver is missing and can't find it on the HP website.  It also said that it doesn't have permission to update drivers.  When checking that area....thats' wrong.  Updates are always automatic without permission per that tab you open to change settings.  I can't see the problem/solution anymore...can anyone else?

Hi @caseqtr, and welcome to the HP Forums!
I don't know about recovering your password for the Embedded Web Server, but you can restore the network defaults on the printer to reset the password. Resetting the network defaults of course means you will need to reconfigure the wireless settings, but that is simply enough.
To restore network defaults, touch the right side of the touch scree and drag your finger to the left to scroll over to the second page of the home menu, then select Setup. In the Setup menu, choose The Network Setup, and navigate to Restore Network Defaults.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require additional assistance. Thanks.

  • Firmware update for HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless to fix load paper issue - as for the 8500?

Is there any hope that that soon will be a firmware update to fix the issues loading paper and the printheads for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless printer?
A month or two ago there came a firmware update to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 wireless, which has some of the same issues,
and allegedly should have the much of the same load-mechanism as the 8000 printer.
It would be great, as we are on the fourth (4) replacement of this HP 8000 printer. For example, it would be great if we could use normal (80g) paper and not has to use (HP) 90g paper, as this prevents us from using the duplexer and only print on one side.

Thanks for the advice to contact HP tech support!
I have tried in multiple ways since November 2009 to contact HP, when I got the first (of 4) printers. The first 3 printers was subsequently replaced.
Finally in late June 2010 I got the message that there was coming an firmware update for Windows, but not for Mac's. The firmware should improve among other things the paper pick up (load paper issue) and the print-heads life.
I have applied the Windows firmware on the printer from a pc, but still seems to have load-paper issues, even using HP Bright White paper, when printing from Mac's. I have not tested the printing from a pc, but assumes that a firmware upgrade the printer, and are not specific to a certain OS.

It seems like I just missed the interval for the hard disk replacement program. I purchased in March 2009 a 24 inch Intel iMac . How much does it cost to have apple support at an Apple Store replace a hard drive?

My hard drive continually has the floating beach ball and will take massive time to fulfill a request. And then will not boot up...so then I have to do a restore and rebuild hard drive from a past saved time machine version. Works for a little bit...then the floating beachball comes more and more...until it will not boot up again. So then I restore from a previous time machine saved version....and again it works for a day or so ... until it happens again. Now it's happening faster and faster...so I think my hard drive is dying.

How much does it cost to replace a battery for the ipod classic?

Depends on if you have Apple do the job or a third party repair company.  Apple will charge you $59 to swap the battery out.

You may be able to find 3rd party service centers that do it for less.

  • The battery for my macbook pro 13 says "service battery".  Now I want to get a replacement but the reviews for it are horrible! Does anybody have any suggestions?

The battery for my macbook pro 13 says "service battery".  Now I want to get a replacement but the reviews for it are horrible! Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to spend 130 dollars on something I'm going to have to replace in less than a year (which is what normally I been reading)  I do design work and I take my mac everywhere.  Having to always look for a plug or having to be constantly plugged in doesn't sound ideal to me.  Please help me. what should I do???

Why does it matter if it a scam????? I'll let you figure that out by yourself.  If I'm going to replace it, why should I be contempt with a battery that I have to replace within months (as stated by some people in the comments). The issue here is not if I should or not replace it OBVIOUSLY I'm going to have to before it starts going crazy.  The underlying issue is why is the replacement battery for a lack of better words " a bit crap."  It comes with a 3 month guarantee?? Is that a joke?!??!?! Some people complained it malfunction after only 8- 9 months? I'm sorry but as an Apple fan I think it's absolutely rubbish. I know there is no magic cure I'm just hoping someone shines the light on how crappy this replacement is.

However after 20 seconds or so I get the message: Can't install the software for the HP Officejet 6300 series because it is not currently available from the Software Update server. This has happned over and over. I have updated the OSx and am 10.8.5. It works on my Mac Book Pro and did once work on the Mac Book Air but stopped so I unistalled and tried to reintsall but no joy. How can i gte the right drivers onto the laptop so that the seach finds them and connects the printer that it already sees?
    Many thanks

  • Windows 7 can´t find the driver for HP Officejet 5510. (Windows Update is set to automatic.)

Hello everyone, I just installed Windows 7 - 64 bit. Supposedly the driver for the HP Officejet 5510 will install automatically in Windows 7 when connected via a USB, which is not happening.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01796879&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=4063&product=311...
I am getting the message that Windows 7 can't find the driver. I don´t understand why?
My Windows Update is set  to automatic.
I see the device under printers. But when I click on it it says driver missing.
Is there any solution? Possibility to get the driver some other way? Unfortunately HP doesn't provide a download on their website.
    Can anyone help me, pleease?
    Honza

I have the same problem. I spent all this money to get more features, not less so Windows 7 should run all of my XP stuff. Now I see that my HP Officejet 5510 all-in-one won't scan and I can't save in pdf format. C'mon HP....give us a driver! If I wind up having to buy another printer, I swear it won't be an HP if I get abandoned on this one. And I'll also switch vendors for all of the printers I'm responsible for replacing at work too.
