How to replicate datasource to PRD System created in BW System (DEV)

Hi Experts,
I created one datasource (based on infoset) in BW so as to extract the data from the table to ODS. Now, i have to replicate it to PRD system.
How can i do it?

Hi,
Go to RSA1, Source System, Right click on the Source System name for eg BWP100 and DataSource Overview, go to the respective application component or find your datasource with its tech name and right click on the appl comp and replicate datasource once it is done then go to SE38 tcode and run RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL and give your InfoSource name there and execute. Then you are good to go with the loads.

How to add EP(DEV and QAS and PRD systems in solution manager)

Dear Gurus,
I want to include EP dev and qality and prodution systems in solution manager .
While installation of EP(only ASJAVA it is not having ASABAP) i selected solution manager as a Central SLD. But i deleted the systems in solution manger and recreated it again. I created all the systems and datatabae and logical components but in maintenane optimizer it is showing only production system but it is not showing development and quality systems in maintenance optimizer.
How to see developmnet and quality systems in maintenace optimizer.
Same thing for ECC also.
ECC dev and quality systems installed in the same server.
In maintenace optimizer it is showing only dev sysetm it not showing quality sysetm.
Can any body help this probelm.

I think you need to adjust your filter settings in the initial screen of MOPZ.
It's in the right top corner.

How to publish a PI7.1 System in SR to create PRovider System in CE7.1

Hi All,
We have CE7.1 EHP1 System. When we try to create a provider system for a PI7.1 system in our landscape, the PI system is not available in the help entries.
If we proceed wiht manual entry, in the end it thows the error " Provider system not published in service registry".
Kindly let me know how to publish a PI7.1 system to the Service Registry so that we can create a Provider system in CE7.1.

Replicate datasource from SRM source system

Hi,
I need to replicate datasource from SRM source system I am able to see datasource under application component in RSA6 when I tried to replicate those component In BI by selecting Replicate Tree Metadata I am not able to see any application component in RSA1 .

Hi Senthil,
i know your issue. the problem is when you are going to do replication in first time you dont find any application components.
so what you have to do is go to the BI SYSTEM and go to your SRM Source system and select and right click and select Replicate Datasources.
if you are doing first time replication it takes a quite long time.
so once its replicated then u will b able to see the datasources as well as the corresponding application components.
next time in SRM if you enhance the datasource you can directly select the datasource and right click say replicate metadata.

Cannot replicate a datasource in BW, System asks for deletion

Hi All,
When I ask for "Replicate Datasources" in our BW system after an upgrade of R/3, it displays the "Deletion of Datasources" window specifying if we would want to delete the datasource since it cannot be replicated.
In what circumstances, do we get this message ?
Is that because BW is seeing new datasources in R/3 which has not been activated ? Then, why would the BW see the new datasources even if they are not active.
Is it safe to say YES to delete all the datasources that cannot be replicated ?

Hi Alain,
as explained in the OSS Note 589361 'Deleting DataSources in BW during replication',
"DataSources that cannot be found (perhaps only temporarily) when a certain component is being replicated are considered obsolete and are deleted...".
So, probably your upgrade process in R/3 deleted some datasource in your source system (no longer in use or no more supported or no more active and available only in D version...).
Try to verify that every datasource used by you is still in RSA6 in R/3...then click YES, I think with no problem...

How to recover a datasource from source system

Dear Experts,
i am trying to find a datasource(0PS_PRJTYPE_ATTR) in the source system. For some reason, I could only find the text one, not the attribute one. I checked in RSA5, RSA6 and RSA2. I couldn't find it.
What are the possible ways to recover the datasource, not sure if someone has deleted it.
Its really urgent, Please guide me.

The same should be available in the source system (DEV), Surprising how / why the same is available in BW system.
I checked the SAP ERP source system to which I have an access and the same is not available in the source system not in the BW system
My sugession is to go for a generic datasource after identifying the table with the help of functional consultant.

please let me know the procedure to activate the datasources(r/3) for objects delivered from the business content(ex infocube, update rules, infosources,....) all delevered from the businss content...
suppose if we create our own infocube we define
1.maintain datasource in r/3
2.replicate that in bw system
3.and further process
let me know how we do this when we transfer objects from d version to a version in business content

ChaRM transport route, one development, 2 QA, 2 PRD system landscape

We have a customer who has an ERP system with a transport route which is the following:
One single Development system which feeds, 2 QA systems and then 2 PRD systems.
We are to implement ChaRM and we want to customize the tickets so that every time you execute the import action of a transport request into QA (and later into PRD) both systems QA1 and QA2 are updated and later on with PR1 and PR2.
We would like to know how to support this scenario in Solution Manager using ChaRM. How do we set up the logical component at SAP, how we define the transport route and layers, and how we define the actions in the SDHF ticket.

Hello,
We set up a testing environment for change request management. In a solution manager we created five clients. One single development which feeds two quality systems, and final two production system. As it was said in the thread we used transport groups in the transport route. The development system feeds this transport group which feed to import queus in quality systems. We tested this transport route and transports worked well and arrives into both production 1 and production 2 systems.
Then created a logical component for that landscape, with five sytems. Then we created a maintenance project using that logical component. We created a maintenance cycle and then a task list was created which shows two delivery system, and the two productive systems. All the groups have the right actions.
However when we created a SDHF correction the system creates the task list only for 3 systems, not for the five of them.
we see that only action groups are created for development, quality 1, and production 1. No entries for quality 2 and production 2
We try to run the action which is in the general part of the task list to execute the import in multiple systems, it cames out with the correct selection of importing in quality 2 system because it is the transport group. However an error is raised saying that the actions for quality 2 are not there in the task list which is true. Finally, as short term solution, we were able to import into quality 2 and later on pr1 but done manually in the stms transactions which is not what we want to do.

BI 7.0: How to bring DataSource fields to InfoSource in design

We've replicated the generic datasource from R3 to BW and we have created an InfoSource with blank fields. We remember on BW 3.x version that we could bring Datasource fields to InfoSource by clicking somewhere, but on BI 7.0, we are trying to do the same thing, but can't find some function to do this. Then we try to right click the InfoSource and then select 'Create Transformation', and then to select the source system and the datasource, but of course we would get the error msg like "There are no fields in target TRCS InfoSource_Technical_Name". Any idea on how to bring Datasource fields into the blank InfoSource on BI 7.0?

Instead of bringing the DS fields into a blank infosource, ideally, what you can do
is, you can create a new infosource based on your generic data source, which would make your process easy..

Can't replicate datasources in BI 7.0 IDES DEMO

I recently installed an IDES DEMO ECC 6 and BI, all modules work perfectly fine in ERP side, I was able to properly configure initial BI set up as well, but every time I tried to check the Data Sources (in RSA1), a message pops up as below:
"There is no application component hierarchy in BW for source system. Do you want to replicate the application component hierarchy now?". --After clicking on YES it shows at the bottom (Application Component Hierarchy for Logsys "T90CLNT090" does not exist).
Within Data Warehousing Workbench: Modelling (RSA1)- Clicked Source Systems then on the right panel I tried Restore, Activate, Replicate DataSources- it appears "Could not activate source system T90CLNT090" at the bottom.
Seems this is a RFC issue which I am not very familiar with. I tried SM59 and Connection Test for T90CLNT090 came with an error.
I need help to resolve this issue and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Ok. Isuue seems to be both the hostname and user id. Check whether the hostname in the connection is what your basis guys have assigned to the system.
Can you do the following additionally:
1. Create a new connection.
2. Enter the connection type as 3
3. In the technical settings tab, in the field target host, enter the IP address of the IDES source system and the system number. These should be correct (you can check the connection details of the ides details from the Logon pad, where you logon into the IDES system).
When you hit enter, then the host name should be determined automatically, which would indicate the system has been set up correctly.
4. Go into the logon and security tab. Enter the language, client and user id and password. The user id should exist in the source system and the password should be correct. You should test by logging into the source system using this login id and pw in Dialog.
5. In the unicode and MDMP tab, select whether the source system is unicode or nonunicode.
6. Save your connection
7. Do a connection test, if it works, then do an authorisation test using the menu option: Utilities --> test --> Authorisation test.
Revert with what happens.

Hi Neel,
when you install (transaction RSA5) a datasource in DEV you have to put this activation in a change request. The same for Logistic Cockpit delta activation (LBWE).
So, to have the same situation (activated datasource and delta) in QA and PRD.
On the other hand, QA and PRD are not open for any modification, therefore a direct activation is not allowed.
Clearly, when you import your change request (with the related activation), THEN you have to do a replication of the source system in BW (in order to let BW see the updated situation).
Step by step for LO:
activate the datasource in RSA5.
adjust it in RSA6.
activate delta (green light in LBWE)
transport CRs in the other environment (and take care of everything in this case...)
replicate datasource in BW
(remember that setup job and delta init and collective job have to be executed in every environment

I tried to load the master for 0Bill_Type
1) Install infoobject business content and Create infoobject
2) Activate datasource in R/3
3) Replicate datasource
4) Assign infosource ---> the error said no available datasource for source system exist
When I go to source system--> Object overview --> I don't see anything at all?
Please advise what went wrong ?

I think you have not transferred the APPLICATION COMPONENT HIERARCHY yet. If not, then do the following:
1. In your R/3 system execute TCODE = SBIW.
2. Go to BUSINESS CONTENT DATASOURCES
3. Execute TRANSFER APPLICATION COMPONENT HIERARCHY by clicking the CLOCK.
Replicate you datasource then check it on your BW system

How to replicate data to hana server based on company code?

I have huge data in ECC system related to different company codes in multiple tables.
So while replicating data into hana system i want to pass company code as a parameter for selected tables.
Cos we have size constraints in HANA server.
So plz help to get the selected data.

I am a little puzzled by your question. Is your requirement that if you change the parameter, only that data gets loaded into HANA and how often do you intend to change the "parameter"?
You can use IUUC_REPL_CONTENT to restrict the data coming in, for example you can define a where clause such that where BUKRS = 'XXXX' so only XXXX entries get replicated. I recommend to take a look at note 1733714 as this note has the guide which shows you how to define these transformations in the SLT server.
However if your goal is every time, you need to load different company codes, you will probably have to change the transformation, then reload the table dropping all the data you already have loaded. This essentially defeats the purpose of real time replication though.
One other alternative is create different views for different company codes in the source ECC, then use the views for replication. Take a look at this blog for information on how to replicate views.
