How to reply in a discussion

when replying i n a d i s c u s i o n if I don't hit the spacebar, the letter won't type, then I have to backspace. It takes FOREVER to type a word
HELP

I am replying from my Samsung Galaxy tablet. This also happens on other forums. It seems to help if I use the mic feature first, but then I still have to retype every word, just not all the "letter, space, backspace, next letter, space, backspace, next letter" typing.

I am able to see the Choose File option.
I'll first post this reply.
Then open it in edit mode to try attaching a file image.
Image can be attached as well as embedded.

Hi, using a community site in SP2013, when you post a discussion (ask and discuss) you have all the text and images displayed correctly. But, when you reply to the post and then, your name is added to the post, the image and text are somehow cutted. I played
with the options like lock ratio and everything, but it doesn't seem to work, I also played with the webpart options, but, it is not working, the idea is to feed the text and images into the whole respond to the post. Have you seen this issue or behavior before?.

I checked the discussions list in my environment, and the image showed as below when replying to a discussion:
It seems that the page has been customized.
I recommend to check the things below:
Check if the page with issue has been customized.
Add the site to trusted sites and add to compatibility settings in Internet Explorer.
Use another browser to access the page to see if the issue still occurs.

SharePoint 2013 Community Template – The Spelling ICON is greyed out when replying to a discussion on a discussion board

Much like the title says the Spelling ICON is greyed out. When I go to the Discussion List and select the thread then view the list in “Flat” view, the Spelling ICON is not greyed out. However, this is a different aspx file. The first method
displays the thread via the Topics.aspx (the normal way) whereas the second displays the thread using the Flat.aspx.
Regardless, why is the Spelling ICON greyed out on the normal way you would reply to a discussion thread? By the way, I had to activate the Publishing Infrastructure on the Site Collection to get the Spelling ICON just to show up when I click on “reply”
from a Discussion thread.

By design in SharePoint, when you view the list in “Flat” view, the ribbon would be as below:
Only when you add a reply and move the mouse to the content, the Spelling ICON will appear.

Access Denied Error on replying to a discussion board Post using anonymous access in sharepoint 2013 .

We are facing issue while replying to a post in Discussion board using Anonymous access users in Sharepoint 2013.
WE are able to post a discussion using anonymous acess but not able to reply to the discussion post.
Steps Performed - :
1. Enabled Anonymous access at Web application Level .
2. In SiteCollection > Site Permissions > Anonymous Acess > Enable for List and Libraries .
3. Disable ViewFormPAgeLock Feature .
4 .Go to Discussion board List >Permissions > Break Inheritence .
5 . Given Add ,Edit and View item permission to anonymous users .
6 . "Create and edit all items " Discussion Board Library Advanced Settigs .Infact ,Neither option is working .
Please suggest if we are missing soming .Please help

Bidder logon to SUS. SUS has manu link for Bid Invitation. When bidder selects Bid Invitation link in SUS, application brings up the EBP ITS screen.
+ You have to set up bidder replication from SUS to EBP
+ Single Sign On should be setup from SUS to EBP
+ SUS bidder should have SAP_EC_SUS_BIDDER role
Please check SUS customizing.

How do I get a discussion back on track?

Several weeks ago, I started a discussion on how to install / run Windows (and other software) on my late-model Mac and also to do other related things.
I started receiving reply messages that appeared to be helpful tips from a couple of people in the forum. Then the people posting these messages got into a disagreement with e
ach other, and each started claiming that the other was giving out (allegedly) misleading advice. I was concerned because (1: I did not know which person to believe, having never tried to run Windows on a late-model Mac before; and (2: these quarreling people seemed to want to argue with each other and not respect the intent of the discussion thread I started.
This made me wonder: what recourse does an individual forum user, typically just seeking technical information/advice, if someone else comes along and pollutes your thread with counter-productive (or otherwise irrelevant) hostility? Is there a way to report this?
I would like to get my discussion back on track, but have no idea how to do it.

I think you said it best yourself on the earlier thread. I would have marked my own reply as solving the question then as CCC and rccharles have already suggested start a new thread .

Change font size of reply button on discussion forum

I am being requested to change the size of the reply button on one of our SharePoint discussion boards. They are needing it done for all current and new discussions that come up so that when someone clicks the reply that button is bigger. What is the best
way to accomplish this. Now please keep in mind that I am not a developer and are just the admin for the SharePoint site so I will need step by step instructions please. I have SharePoint designer and tried playing around with it but could not figure

you can achive this from css change on your sharepoint site .
got your sharepoint page.
click edit page from options from geare ontop right corner if sp 2013 .or edit page from left top sp 2010.
now goto insert tab and click add webpart .
Select media and content under categories
now select script editor webpart and click add .
now you will see this script editor web part on your page . go ahead and select the check box on top right of the newly added web part and you can see edit webpart option click on it .
Then you will be able to see edit snippet text on webpart click on edit snippit it will pop up a dilouge box and add this code there with image url that you want to see on sharepoint page .

i made the reply size 50 px so you see the change clearly if you want to reduce the size of text text reduce 50 px to 25 px or so .. as per requirment.
