How to reply to an event, including a comment?

When replying to an event, is there a way to include a comment in iCal 4.0? For example, when declining an event, I want to include a comment telling the organizer why I am unable to attend.

Try moving the Zoom slider at the bottom of the iPhoto window all the way to the left. Does that let more than one photo display in the window?

I have an iPhoto event on my computer that I have photo-edited, named, key-worded, and place and dated. How to I transfer that event to another computer in a way that includes ALL the information?

I have iPhoto '09, version 8.1.2. I have an event in the Library whose photos have all been edited, faces named, keywords added, and place and dated. How do I transfer the event intact (with ALL the editing, names, dates, places, etc) to another computer? Exporting does not include all the information (no dates or face names), nor does burning a DVD (it shows the location pinned on the map, but doesn't write out the name of the place).

This will get everything you mention except the Faces data. There is no way to share that on any system.
Note that this information including the dates is written to the IPTC and Exif metadata. So you'll need an app that understands these things as the Finder doesn't - a Photo app for insstance.
There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export. However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

So the precedence on my entire package executing is based on my first SELECT of my Table and an updatable column. If that SELECT results in an empty result set, how do I create an Event Handler to handle an empty result set?

Depends upon what you want to do in the eventhandler. this is what you can do
Store the result set from the Select to a user variable.
Pass this user variable to a Script task.
In the Script task do whatever you want to do including failing the package this can be done by failing the script task, which in turns fails the package. something like
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Failure

Hi James,
When i created BPEL and i selected "Subscribed event" and i had no chance to select async and sync. becasue in the dropdown list for BPEL creation, there are async, sync and subscribed event, etc. and i only could choose one.
Originally, i used mediator for subscribed events. In BPEL new version(1.1), it has subcribed events for BPEL. This is why i use BPEL instead of Mediator. After this switch i got record locking error because of its asynchronous processing. I'm thinking the mediator and BPEL should work same way for "Subscribed events".
if there is no setup that i can approach for BPEL and make it processing as "Single thread", i will switch back to use mediator.

How to handle tab change event in UI shell main area

Hi,
I have two tabs(two taskflows) in UI shell main area. one is department tab and another is employee tab. My department tab shows employees department wise. On employee tab I have emplyee table which shows employees jobwise. This employee table has the functionality of adding new record to employee vo as well.
Now i follow these steps.
1. by defualt department tab is open.
2. by clickinng on Tasks menu link i open Employee tab in to main area. Now i have both tabs in main area.
3. at Employee tab I search all employees job = accountant. It shows the search result well.
4. Now i add a new record to it and without saving/deleting this record i move to department tab.
5. at Department tab i search employees where department =20, here no relation b/w job and department.
6. Now i return to employee tab. my newly added record got disappeared. It is there but does not show in table.
How to resolve it??
I have one solution in my mind while changing the tab i can prompt to user "you can not leave the newly added record..either save it or delete it". But how to catch tab change event here? where i can write code to prompt msg to user?
Pls help.

With apologies for the slow reply, I'm currently travelling.
Two things to note:
1) The af:document uncommittedDataWarning flag was designed to stop users navigating away from half entered records. More about this flag can be found here:

....please note our documentation from time to time spells this flag wrong with only one "t" in the word committed, so if you're attempting a bulk search check for this (and I'll raise document bugs to get this fixed in the future).
2) On addressing the ADF UI Shell, if you're switching between "pages" in the UI Shell, as separate to switching between dynamic tabs within a single page using the UI Shell, the UI Shell will actually restart the currently running task flow in the page you're returning too. You can verify this by implementing an initializer on your task flow with a log message, and watching when the initializer is called.
In addressing your last question, at this stage I think you need to assess my first answer then come back if you think you sill need to execute the code on the tab click. I also need to know are you talking about the primary level of tabs that represent each page in the UI Shell, or are you referring to the dynamic tabs within a single UI Shell page that hold your task flows?

I figured out where I missed your point. When you wrote

I was thinking mixed data-types in a [2d] table!
Looking at the property browser again it looks like no single LV function can do all of that. It can be developed as a pop-up (like the browser is set-up) and then code all of the elegance using an event structure to control the background color of a string indicator while controling the visability of rings that are only made visable when a mouse down is detected. That will get you pretty close.
So no, my previous response ws not correct for what you are trying to do if you want to duplicate all of the wistles and bells of the property browser pop-up window.

Does anyone know how to update/recompile PHP to include IMAP?

I've just installed phplist (http://www.phplist.com/), which is a newsletter mailer based on php. Some of the features require that IMAP be installed with the php installation. Evidently Apple's OSX install does not include IMAP in PHP by default, but presumably IMAP can be added if PHP is recompiled. (See http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.imap.php). I was planning on updating PHP using Alex's very helpful tutorial, available at http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/category/4/18/62/, and at the same time adding IMAP.
Altho Alex does not touch on IMAP in his tutorial, I believe that to includ IMAP in the PHP installation, the configuration string must include "--with-imap-ssl=/sw --with-imap=/usr/share/c-client", or something similar. In any event, it seems that "c-client" does not live in /usr/share nor anywhere on my system, so I have not attempted an installation so far.
Does anyone know how to update/recompile PHP to include IMAP? And if "c-client" is required, how do I intall that first?

Disregard last post--that was a non-starter, but I think I have a successful installation, which I will post here as the documentation on this from php and from phplist is pretty bad:
First get and compile the c-client library, which is necessary for those wanting to run phplist:

One last question, Alex: can I safely delete the SourceCache folder now that the installation is complete? I am new to Flash & ActionScript 3.0. I only have basic knowledge of AS 3.0 && Flash.
My issue starts here:
Suppose, I created a MovieClip(with instance-name= "myClip") on the stage. If I need to process MouseEvent.CLICK event on this movieclip(myClip), then we use addEventListener(bla.... bla...); method.
Now, my requirement is, in certain case, I do not want to occur any MouseEvent.CLICK events on this same movieClip(i.e., myClip).Then, How to do this? (or) What is the method/class used in this context?
PLEASE, CAN YOU REPLY ME WITH AN EXAMPLE....

you can remove the event listener with
removeEventListener(bla.... bla...);
but depending on what it is that you actually want to do (whatever determines your 'certain case') you could also set a boolean flag for example and just do something different in your listener function based on that value

Create Event includes photos I didn't select

I'm hitting a bug in Create Event. I have a bunch of photos in an event. I select one of them, and then Create Event. The new event includes the selected photo, but also includes several that I hadn't selected. If I drag those back to the original event, the one I'd selected goes with them. They're bound together in some mysterious way. It depends on the particular photos I select, too. I've successfully separated others from the same event in the same way. I've tried using Split Event instead, and get the same problem.
I've tried fixing protections, repairing the database, and rebuilding the database, to no avail. I'm running iPhoto 9.5.1, on OS X 10.9.5, but I've experienced this bug in previous versions of iPhoto, too, so I know it's not new.
How can I work around the problem? (I'd rather not Export them all and Import them again, because I've edited them and identified many Faces on some of them.)

No, they're unrelated except for having been imported at the same time.
That should not happen. Have you been running any cleaning.app on your iPhoto Library to save space?
Check the originals of the photos that are moving together. You can inspect the original by using the command "File > Reveal ...". It looks like iPhoto were treating those photos as versions of the same photo.
Perhaps repairing the iPhoto library can fix this problem. Run the First Aid Tools.
Press and hold down the alt/option key ⌥ and the command keys at the same time and launch iPhoto. Keep holding down both keys until you see the First Aid panel. From the panel select to "Repair database".

You have to use the "repeat>Custom" setting on the Desktop version of iCal.
