How to Report bad IP address
Hi,
How do I report a bad IP address, in order to stop it's re-assignment from the dhcp pool?
The IP address I have currently been assigned by BT appears on various IP black lists. For example when accessing the National Lottery site the connection attemp just hangs. A Tracert test gives:
C:\Users\Administrator>tracert www.national-lotter.co.uk

As can be seen the traffic is routed to Prolexic. A company specializing in web site anti DDOS protection. Looks like my IP has been flagged as one used in the past for questionable activities. I understand that by just simply rebooting the modem I'm likely to be assigned another IP, but I want to get this bad IP removed from the pool so it doesn't get re-assigned to someone else. Experience in the past has shown that there is likely to be little success to tiring to get the IP removed from the blacklist at Prolexic's end. That would need more clout than a home user processes.
So how do I report to this bad address to BT ?
Kind Regards
Gary
I would try another reset but disconnect for couple of minutes before reconnecting and that should be enough to get a new IP address

How to correct bad PAB addresses that route through old GWIA
Old system was GW 7.x on NetWare 6.5 servers.
New system is GW 8.0.2HP2 on Windows 2008 servers.
We moved to new hardware, etc. when we upgraded to GW 8. It's time to turn off the old GWIA but I find that many people have saved addresses (I assume mostly in Frequent Contacts) that route messages through our old GWIA. Doing a grep search of the old GWIA logs on the term "sender" is how I know this is still how these messages are flowing.
Anyway, for example, there is a user that sends messages to his VP and that VP's address shows to be "Firstname Lastname ("[email protected]@etmc.org) in the properties of the message. With the old GWIA off messages to this address remain in Pending status. Turn the old GWIA back on and the message goes on through.
Does the GWCheck PABFix option correct these stored addresses in personal address books, or is there another way, or any way at all?
TIA
SteveI just had this problem after upgrading to 2012. An old utility (gwpabasr.exe) saved the day. You can find it in the file finder on the download site. Yes, it is OLD but it worked. Just be careful of the location of the gwpabasr.sri. It looks for it in the local windowsa directory. I know I am late to post to this request but maybe some else is looking for it.

My iMac is locked on a bad IP address (169), how do I get it to release so I can connect to the internet?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try unplugging the Apple Tv and restarting and restating your router. You should also check that the Apple Tv is set to use the correct location. -
How to distingush delivery failure notices & bad email addresses
Hello, All:
Is there a standard for the format(content, subject, headers, etc) of delivery failure notices?
What would you do if you want to get the bad email address (Undelivery address) from the delivery failure notice? Is there a systematic way to get the bad email address instead of earching for the address string in the email?
Thanks in advance!Hi, the exception SendFailedException only happens when any of the recipient addresses is detected to be invalid by the "Transport" during message submission. It is not exactly the same as the user email does not exists.
I have tried the SendFailedException and functions you suggested. The transport does not give this exception even though the recipent's address is not valid :(..
I think the JavaMail code passes the email message to the SMTP server, the SMTP deals with the actually sending. Therefore, JavaMail code can not get its hand on the invalid email addresses.
Thanks! -
How to change CUE ip address?
Hi,
We moved to a new location and using comcast as ISP. I was setting up the phone system today and met a few problems.
1. First of all, all the phones are connected and working(total of 4), but I can only see 3 of them showing up in the CCA. Whats happening here?
2. I wanted to change the user name which appears on the phone using the CCA, CCA told me that the settings were successfully sent to UC520, I restarted the phone and uc520, but the names on the phones remain unchanged?
3. I forgot the password of the voicemail for one of the phone, and wanted to changed in the CUE. so I went to 10.1.10.1,but some comcast login page showed up instead of CUE. so I want to know how to change the IP address of CUE? I don`t know the CLI commands so please teach me if it can only be done with CLI. I have only used CCA in the past. Could this be the reason why for problem 1 and 2? I`m feeling wierd because all the phones can be used to call in/out.
my data vlan is 192.168.0.0 and voice vlan is 192.168.2.0 let me know if you need any other info.
need help urgently as I want to resolve this problem asap.
Thanks in advance.

endhow to change local ip address?Via an operating system command.
It's not the sort of thing an application should be doing at all. IP addresses these days are assigned via DHCP. Why would you want to change it from within an application? It would probably disconnect all sockets for all running applications, invalidate the login, all kinds of bad effects.
What is the actual requirement? -
How can I retrieve my address book data??
I have an old Palm V. My hotsync cable is bad, it won't sync any more. And it won't charge the palm, which has been out of charge for, oh, maybe a year.
So I've still used the Palm Desktop program, to keep track of my telephone numbers, etc. Well, my cat sprayed the pc, and I had to get a new one. Meanwhile, with all the shorting out that happened, the program won't open right. I copied what I thought were the user files, reinstalled Palm Desktop, and got the program open, HOWEVER, the user box comes up like it's a brand new user, and won't recognize when I paste the files to the directory!!
How do I recover my address book? I don't care about all the other data, but I NEED this stuff!
Thanks in advance.
Post relates to: Palm V
This question was solved.
View Solution.Yes, I have both those files.
On a lark, I tried opening them through Open Office, AND I can see the data! It's horribly arranged, but at least it's THERE. So, problem solved, thank you!!

How to change company code address in Print form used
Hi.
I have maintained the company address under the gobal data in config. However when I used the print form to print out the invoice from AP (FBL1N -> correspondence -> Request), the address of the sender / company code is different.
How do I change the address from the form / invoice ? How to find out where the form pulls the data from ? I tried SE71 but couldn't trace out anytime.
Please help.
Thanks.
AngelCheck your configuration.
Please follow the following steps:
IMG ==> Financial Accounting ==> Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables ==> Customer Accounts ==> Line Items ==> Correspondence ==> Make and Check Settings for Correspondence
Define Correspondence Types
Create Report Variants for Correspondence
Assign Programs for Correspondence Types
Define Form Names for Correspondence Print (even you assign your form to blank company code also)
If you complete these steps you will get the spool request get generated.
Please ask your ABAPer to change the company code address and logo etc. on the form.
You go to FB12 - request for the statement
then go to F.61
Then go to SP02 - Take print out.

Changed IP address, not get "bad inetd address, cannot get hostname"
I'm running OS 10.4.8 Server on a MacPro.
I've changed the IP address and name of my computer. I ran changeip and updated the IP address and hostname under Preferences > Network and Preferences > Sharing. Everything seemed to be ok, that is, I can surf the web, read email, ssh to and from (most) other computers. There are two problems:
1. I cannot "Connect to Server..." from my laptop. It claims that the "The server may not exist or is not operational at this time. Check the server name or IP address and try again."
2. When I try to launch some software (Tecplot, to be precise, from an xterm) which requires contacting a license server, it claims that it "Cannot get host by name or bad inet address".
Here's some additional information:
A. If I run "nslookup <servername>" on my computer, I get
** server can't find vonkarman.mae.ufl.edu: NXDOMAIN
However, if I run the exact same command on another local machine, I get the correct IP address (not suprisingly, I can ssh to my machine from that machine).
B. If I run "hostname" on my computer, I get the right hostname.
C. If I run "uname -a", I also get what I expect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Andreas

Specifically, are you running NAT on the server? If so, how is it configured? Is the server's firewall enabled?

How to import names and addresses from address book into a letter
I am a new Apple user and fairly frustrated by the lack of help and who to contact for support. I would like to know how I can use the address book to write a letter or export the information to Word to writ a simple letter. Is this possible ?
Thanks> I am a new Apple user and fairly frustrated by the lack of help and who to contact for support.
There is a Help function available for each application and since you are a new Apple user, I strongly suggest that you use this for learning purposes especially for the Apple applications you use most often. An answer to every possible question is not included but this is a good place to start to help you with the learning curve involved with switching from Windows.
You discovered these Discussions which is probably your best avenue for overall support. There is a wealth of knowledge here with Apple provided knowledge base articles and a large number of very knowledgeable folks who volunteer their time to help fellow users with problems/issues and to answer various questions such as yours. I've learned much here and continue to learn new things on a regular basis.
Regarding contacting Apple support directly (they won't help you with problems associated with 3rd party applications such as Word even though Apple includes an Office 2004 Test Drive on all Macs but if you have a technical support issue with Apple hardware or Software, you contact AppleCare with free telephone support for 90 days from date of purchase. If you have a warranty related issue after the 90 days of free telephone support has expired, AppleCare will request upfront payment for the support but if the reported problem does turn out to be a covered warranty issue, the upfront money paid will be credited in full.
