I was reinstallin windows.....but pc died midway...when I restarted pc it didn't want to recognise any usb ports, also it says in setup options I cannot install windows on any of my partitions, although drive is readable...cannot accces bios as My laptop keyboard does not work and normally use usb keyboard. I tried unplugging battery, power and taking out rtc battery...somewhere on hp website also says I should hold in power key for 15 seconds...still does not recognise usb ports or harddrive...recognises cd rom though

You state that the HDD is readable, but not recognized. If BIOS is not recognizing the HDD, then it shouldn't be readable on that system.
Where exactly is the HDD being determined to be readable?
For a hard reset, I recommend holding the power button for at least 30 seconds with all components disconnected (charger, battery, external devices). I have seen others recommend a full minute.
If you power on the notebook and press the F10 key about once a second, BIOS should load. Here, the bottom should list what key to load the defaults (usually f9).
What is the exact model of the notebook?

You cannot delete the iCloud account that is signed on to Find My iPhone unless you know the password. This is called the Activation Lock:
ACTIVATION LOCK
It is an anti-theft security measure that is a part of iOS 7. You can only get around this by following the steps in this support article:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
Contact your friend. This is the only way around the lock.

We reset back to factory settings, we had to try a few email addresses before finding one we could use. Now it is asking to verify one of the email addresses we didn't use. How do we get out of that?

Now it has pulled up one of the email addresses we tried to use, and is trying to verify, and asking to continue to complete the set up. You will need another iOS device or a computer in order to do this, but I assume that's not a problem since you are on this forum.

If you cannot remember the email address you used as your apple ID, try iforgot.apple.com.
Once you know your apple ID, you can try to reset your password.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I am facing an issue with my T420 thinkpad. I need to reset it to Factory Settings, however I do not have recovery CD/DVD or Backup.
Please guide me as to how I can do it.

There should be no problems other than the inconvenience of having to restore your iPhone to factory settings.
Except for one factor - contacts, calendar, notes, photos in the camera roll. You need to copy all of these to your computer or you will lose them. The easiest way is to sync these with apps on your computer such as MS Outlook or iCal and Address Book on a Mac. Photos are copied the same way you would with any digital camera.
The alternative is a 3rd party app that can copy files from an iPhone to your computer. iOS Data Recovery software is probably the best. It is not free, but has gotten positive reviews.
NOTE: I have no connection with the developers, and don't even own it.

As your notebook is a business class machine, security is more stringent - the password is stored in non-volatile memory and there are no 'backdoor' passwords. Your best option would be to contact HP regarding this.

Sammyhunter lets get you back in action! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Try pressing and holding the home and power button together. Once the Apple symbol appears release both buttons. Keep us posted!

Seems like a hardware problem. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

HT1212 I found an iphone over one year ago. Its locked with a passcode. I kept waiting for the owner to call it. They never did. I went to ATT store today, they put a new sim card in it. but now itunes needs the passcode to reset it to factory settings.

Any workaround? Or, am I doing something wrong here?

Sounds like you may be the owner of a new phone! If you don't need or want it and no one claims it you probably can sell it. Check eBay to see what the going rate is.

I wrote a post before this but it seems like it got deleted???
My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode and I've tried everything but nothing works! I can't even reset it to factory settings because I keep getting the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Is there any way that I can reset it to factory settings without using iTunes?
I've searched all over the web, haven't found anything on this... I've tried all the apps that help exit from recovery mode but none of them work!
