How to reset ipod touch 5th generation without using itunes
I am locked out of my IPod touch 5th generation because my password was changed on me. It says my ipod is disabled and I need to connect to itunes. However, I can not get itunes where I am so I need to know how to reset my ipod without itunes.

If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
otherise with a computer with iTunes and an interent connection
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

My iPod Touch (5th Generation) won't appear in iTunes. I've never had any problem like this until we got that new charger and USB cord that comes with the 5th Generation. We just barely managed to get it to charge with my HP laptop. My son tried to create his own iTunes account and add it into his iPod touch, that was already registered to my account. I am trying to reset his iPod now as it seems like it is confusing the two different accounts and not letting any of the apps really work all that well (or at all). I tried to reset the ipod from the settings, but the 'Find my iPod' will not turn off as every time I try to get it to verify the password it times out and denies the reset (which is what happens in all of the apps now as well which is why I wanted to start from scratch and reset everything).

The product i am using is a Ipod touch 5th Generation, version 8.1. On friday i had laid my ipod on my jacket which was laying on my mom truck and i went to play basketball. So when i got back it was off, at first i thought it died but the ipod was cold. It wasnt turning on i put it on the charger and it still wouldnt turn on. So i kept it on the charger all night and in the morning (saturday 10/25/14) it turned back on. So i went to the wifi to connect to my home wifi and it said no wifi is found. So i reset the network settings on my ipod and turned off the wifi box for 30 seconds then turned both back on and it still said theres no wifi. I followed every step but it still doesnt show any wifi. I tried to enter it manually but it keep saying "Could not find the network". But when i do it on my brothers phone it works. Can someone please help me get wifi back on my Ipod touch. I did all the steps but still nothing work.

It said there were about 82 minutes and it was restoring for about until 70 minutes and then a pop-up comes up saying it can't restore it because it has a password on it! Please help me.

I am trying to get the speck gemshell case that I purchased along with the "new" ipod touch 5th generation. It seems like a solid piece of clear see-through piece of plastic and it will withstand lots of drops with the added "lips"on the front of the ipod touch (one reason why i got this case. The other reason was to have my red ipod seen by all who wish to look at it.) but my problem with it is that it seems "too solid". The case is hard to put on and REALLY hard to take off. I have read on some websites that you can take a credit card as a way of taking the case off but I want to figure out how to take it off without ruining my ipod or bending the case?

I can't remeber my iPod touch 5th generation's pass code. I know the four numbers included, just not the sequence. It disabled yesterday at 6pm, and it's now 11am and still disabled. Also, when I first got my iPod, my friend synced it with her iTunes, so I can't plug it into mine.

Thank you!!If it says "iPad is disabled" it is never going to time out. At that point, your only option is to restore it in iTunes.
If you have a backup in place now (in iCloud or iTunes) once restored, you can restore from backup, but the only way to un-disable the device is to restore it.

To activate you have to enter the ID and password last used for Settings>iCloud. In most cases the Apple ID is used for Settings>iCloud but not always.
