How to reset my eligibility upgrade on the web?

The unresolved problem I have concerns my iPhone. I returned an iPhone 6 to the Apple store on Sept 24 to exchange for a Plus. I was told at the store that I could order an iPhone 6 Plus immediately online. When I tried to do that I received a message that says "There's an existing order for the phone number you provided.” and I cannot order a new phone. After numerous calls to both Verizon support and Apple support (including being told on multiple occasions by Apple support that it was Verizon’s problem) I finally got an Apple support manager to admit that it was a problem in Apple’s system but they needed Apple tech support to resolve the issue. They told me that I could pick up a phone in a store but not order one online. This is not a viable option for me because the stores have minimal inventory and I cannot go stand inline every day hoping that some phones show up. Since then I have called Apple support every day for the past ten days to check on status. I have spoken with four different Apple support managers and they keep telling me it should be resolved in 24 hours. Of course it never is resolved and I still cannot order my new phone. During this process some of the managers have tried to be helpful and call me with status while others promised to do so but never followed through. I’ve lost patience with this (I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent talking to support and/or on hold every day) and have no confidence that anyone is actually working to resolve it. All the managers agree that they can see i returned my previous phone but say they are powerless to simply go in and manually reflect that in my account so I can order a new phone. I am hoping somebody can provide some assistance. This seems like it should be a simple process for someone to update my account. I don’t understand why it has now taken 17 days & counting with no result. I asked all the managers for an escalation path but they provided no alternative for me. I would appreciate is anybody now how to contact somebody else from apple about this problem.
Thanks, Jason

Jason
Unfortunately, all of us here are users like you. You have made personal and phone contacts - live people are always best - but their "powerless" statement seems a bit off-putting. I would insist on a supervisor, then supervisor's supervisor, etc.
I would think that Apple employees' duty is to make the company money, so maybe reminding them that you only want to spend money will give them incentive.
best luck

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • Anyone know how to get a free upgrade on the OSx 10.6

I've been searching all night, and cant seemtofigure out how to get a free upgrade of the OS X 10.6! Anyone know where or how?

    There is no free upgrade.
Do you currently have the 10.5.8 Combo update loaded?  (if not download and apply the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update )
Then, check that your machine is suitable for Snow Leopard.   It needs to be a Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.   Check by reading the specs.
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -Read the Technical Specifications
Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade by DVD not a download.  To buy the DVD, if you are from the USA go to … http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard.
In Europe or otherwise substitute your national code in place of /us above.
In UK go to Apple Store UK       Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (UK)
Before you start upgrading, back up your files.   If you are unsure how best to do this, the following link is hugely informative.        Most commonly used backup methods: Apple Support Communities.
Once you have upgraded to Snow Leopard, if your upgrade took you to 10.6.3 you will need to download and apply the Combo updater.  Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1  and follow with software updates to pick up the most recent security and iTunes updates.

  • How do I download an MP3 from the web to iTunes

I received an email with a link to an MP3 I'd like to load onto iTunes so I can listen to it on my iPod.  But when I click on the link, it opens Safari, and the only thing on the screen is a progress bar with a start/stop and a volume control.  I can't find anything to click on to drag it to iTunes.
I've tried 'File->save as' and put it on my downloads folder or on the desktop.  But it won't save as an MP3, it tells me it has to put '.webarchive' as an extension.  If I try to drag the file to iTunes, nothing happens.  If I double click on it, I get the same Safari window.
So how do I get this MP3 off the web and into iTunes?

When it's playing in Safari, click on its URL in the address bar and press the Option and Enter keys.

    Hi Abdul,
Locate the Toolbar group group for that application. It should be ACC_OIC01 in your case. You can deactivate a specific button (event) under the toolbar group.

I am currently running Mac os x 10.4.11, I would like to upgrade to the latest operating system, but from what I've been told I cant just jump to the current Lion. What is the most cost effective and smartest way to upgrade from my current Tiger to Lion.

    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB

Cheapest is to buy Snow Leoprd for @29, then buy Lion online for $29, but you can buy Lion on a Flash Drive & erase your drive to install Lion for$69.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory[14]
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading[14]
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.

  • How to reset security questions without knowing the answers?

Ok so it isn't that complicated and i have done this before, but I cant figure out how to reset my security questions without knowing the answers.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • How to do in-place-upgrades with the new patch sets (11.2.0.2.0)?

    Hello,
Oracle has released the new patch set 11.2.0.2.0 for Oracle Database whose installation deviates from the previous patch set instructions. Are there any new deployment procedures available to do an in-place upgrade? We have a lot (about 100) of development databases here, most of them do not have enough hard disk space to do an out-of-place upgrade, so the need for updated deployment procedures is definetely there.
    Best regards,
    Andreas

    Hello Hemss,
I am trying to do an in-place-upgrade (replacing the old Oracle software completely because our test servers have only very little space). When you want to perform an out-of-place upgrade, things are more simple, but you need the disk space for a new Oracle home (about 6 GB on Linux-x64 in my case). Essentially, the steps are:
    1. You can keep the production database online during the next steps
    2. Install the new 11.2.0.2.0 into a new Oracle Home (an Oracle software directory which does not exist yet). Only install the software.
    3. Apply any post-11.2.0.2.0 patches if available and needed
    4. Schedule a maintenance window with your users
    5. Put the original database(s) in MOUNT mode (SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE followed by STARTUP MOUNT)
    6. Perform a FULL backup of both database and old Oracle home, just to be on the safe side.
    7. Set your enviromnent: ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE should point to your NEW installation, ORACLE_SID to your production database.
    8. Start netca to create a new LISTENER for your new software installation (you might want to use a different port than your previous installation in case you need to run both at the same time)
    9. Start dbua from the new Oracle Home and follow the on-screen instructions. You can either create an updated copy of the database (needs more disk space but you can easily switch back to your orginal DB), or you change the database to fit your new Oracle version (needs less space, but you need to run the scripts to downgrade to the old release if you need to go back)
So, as long as you have plenty of disk space, things are not that difficult at all. Of course, you should always read the release notes and the full installation guides for the new version because there might be new features or behaviours that affect your database. It is also highly advisable to test this on a completely different machine first.
You can find the complete upgrade guide here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17222/toc.htm
    Best regards,
    Andreas

  • How do you delete an upgrade on the upgrade page

There are things on the Mac app store upgrade that I don't want to download. Can I delete those upgrades?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
You can hide them. Open the MAS, sign into your account in the Store pulldown menu, go to the Purchased pane and right click over the name of the app, choose Hide purchase.
