How to reset my iphone with the apple logo on it?

We were trying to do an update to the 8.3 on a iphone 5S and my daughter started the phone before it was completed on the download and now there is only the apple logo and once in awhile a blue screen will flash and we are unable to restart the phone.

Connect iPhone to computer iTunes and do a restore there.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I was trying to update my iphone software recently all was going well until I had to connect to itunes. IF RESET DOESN'T WORK, FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note: Data will be lost

My phone is brand-new, bought it yesterday together with two more for my sisters, and it asked for an update. After it finished updating, it told me to connect to Itunes, which I did. As soon as I connected it to Itunes, the only option left was to restore. I waited 10 minutes for it to restore until it came to the finishing point, but in the end, there was an error, and since then, my phone has been stuck with the apple logo on it. I tried turning it off by pressing the sleep button and the home

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

I leave it charging until it gets back to full, usually it turns on after a little bit of time after plugging it in, but all its doing is going to the apple logo screen and going blank again.
