How to reset Notification center

So I just updated to Yosemite
I have no notification center? I am not sure if I had disabled it previously through the terminal shell
Does anyone know how to reset the notification center or is this some kind of bug in yosemite?

Go to System Preferences > Notifications and see if it's enabled

How to refresh notification center?

Hello guys! First time posting here but I could not find help or the answer anywhere.
I'm currently running a late 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro with 10.8.2. All software is updated and all my data is backed up. My issue is in Notification Center on the Mac (swipe over with the trackpad) I have old birthdays that came from Facebook that will not go away.
I am currently using iCloud to sync contacts and calendars and have facebook sycing turned on for contacts. I also have "show birthdays" checked in iCal. I have removed ALL accounts before and set up again and they still show up. They will disappear when I turn it off then reappear when I turn it back on. I even reomved those friends from facebook so they are not even in my contacts or iCal. Just in Notification center, and every day is show 1 day longer (ie: John Smith's Birthday 38 days ago). I feel like my notification center needs to refresh somehow.
I really don't want to do an erase and install..
Any help would be great! Thanks for your time guys.

Welcome to the community! Go ahead and try the following:
sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui KeepAlive -bool false
To undo this, simply repeat the command and replace the word "false" with "true" in the command.
Change this key value from its default of "true" to "false" and save the file to disable automatic launching of the Notification Center (click for larger view).
When this edit is done, restart the system to reload the modified launch agent file, and Notification Center will now be disabled.
Just remember to restart the computer once its disabled, enable the application, then do a second restart. Let us know if it worked.

It's not a normal app. What appears in the Notification Centre is controlled via Settings > Notifications - you can select which apps appear in notification centre. It's then accessed by :
Just swipe down from the top of any screen to enter Notification Center.
New notifications appear briefly at the top of your screen, without interrupting what you’re doing. And the Lock screen displays notifications so you can act on them with just a swipe.

How can i reset my notification center preferences?

How can i reset my notification center preferences and settings without doing a full reset?
I have already tried the option Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

I am trying to reset all the settings under the menu 'Settings > Notification Center'.
For example if i customised the Mail notifications so that it didn't display an update when i got an email, i would like to reset this. However i don't want to have to manually reset each app which i customised the notification settings for induvidually.

Notification center alert styles reset on restart

Hello everyone,
I couldn't find anybody else with the same issue, but since I upgraded to Yosemite my alert styles in the notification center keep on reseting every time I restart my computer. I hate these banners notifications, especially for Facebook and other social networks, so I keep on switching the alert style to None, but when I restart my computer, they are reset to Banners.
Any ideas how to fix this/what to do?

Press cmd-r at boot. From disk utility repair permissions and retry. If the issue persists, reinstall from scratch... Same happened to a friend.

How to permanently get rid of Facebook in Notification Center?

Hello,
I'm growing incredibly frustrated of the Facebook notifications in Yosemite. I've followed all directions to turn them off. I've dragged Facebook to the 'Not In Notification Center' area. I've also selected 'None' in 'Facebook alert style' and unchecked 'Shot notifications on lock screen' as well as 'Show in Notification Center'.
Yet, every time I restart my computer, Facebook notifications start littering my desktop and, sure enough, all the preferences I set for it have been reset and it's back in my Notification Center.
If anyone can tell me how to simply delete Facebook from Notification Center all together, I'd be thrilled.

Let me know if it works... You can add facebook in internet acounts again later if you want it...
It might reset the settings.. And may solve the problem anyhow...
i.e. you might want birthdays on your calendar for example...
Personally I dont like facebook junk cluttered on my email. However dont mind facebook notifications for facebook chat...
I dont know if your notification center also clutters you with other rubbish... Like facebook notifications that are not private chat... Mine doesnt... I think i had set the facebook settings a while ago not to spam all the rubbish facebook sends.

Settings for notification center constantly reset

Hi,
my Mac always resets the settings for the notification center. Sometimes this happens after a restart, more often after a crash.
I couldn't find any solution for this via Google.
Does anyone else have this problem and if so, have you found a solution?

This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.

If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.

How do I get my missed call notification to show in the notification center? Everything is turned on but nothing shows up.

I previously posted a question about not being able to see any of my missed calls in the notification center. I have the iPhone 4S running on 6.1.1. The notifications previously stopped working but somehow the calls started to show up. (I can't remember what I did to make them show up). However, after I went to General>Reset>Reset All Settings , the missed call notifications disappeared again. I have tried turning everything on and it still does not work. My settings are Phone> Show 10 Recent Items> Banners > Badge Icon On> View In Lockscreen On. I have also tried to set it as alerts but nothing happens. The only way I can view my missed calls is on the lock screen and in the recents tab in the phone app. They do not show up in the notification center at all. Can someone please help me?

How do I get all day events to show back up in my notification center after iOS8 update?

I have a iPhone 5, with iOS 8, 16GB
OK, none of my calender events are showing up in my notification center, and I have all type's of events on my calender, I have tried going in to my settings < then notifications < then calender < now, on this screen it shows that I am allowing notifications, so I went to upcoming events < and everything on this screen is on, I don't know what to do. How do I fix this? Can someone please help me?

Unfortunately, iOS 7 and iOS 8 do not show All-day-events in the Notification Centre.
Try to do a search within the forums or just google it and you will see that this is how ios7 and 8 have been designed from the start, and a major issue in my opinion.
