    In iTunes go to edit/select all (or highlight just the songs that you want to reset). Right click on the songs and select "reset play count". Click 'ok'.
    Sync your ipod to iTunes to reflect the changes on there also.

    I don't know if Vista has anything to do with it specifically, but normally in iTunes you can select the item or set of items and then right click and pick the "Reset Play Count" option.

    In my iTunes Music Library I have only CD's that I own. I would like to reset all play counts to zero. How can I do that.
    N.B. I have tried to change the play counts that appear in Library.xml, but this has no effect and gets corrected back from information stored somewhere else when I open iTunes.

  • "Set" (Not Reset) Play Count

    Hi, I would like to specify a number of playcounts for certain songs. So for example I buy the video version of a song that I previously had audio only. So I want to transfer the count from the audio version to the new video version so that it ranks in the right place in my "most played" songs. I can see how to "reset" the playcount but this does not help given it moves the count to zero.

    Go to Doug's Applescripts for iTunes page (a Google search will turn up the URL for you and search for an Applescript called "Add or Subtract Playcount". It works great. You select a song or group of songs, click the Applescripts menu, pick that one, then enter in the number you want to add or subtract then simply click the PLUS or the MINIS button and that many counts will be added or subtracted from the total.

  • Syncing resets play count!

    iTunes 10.1.1; iPod Touch 2G 8GB iOS 4.2.1
    This started happening with the latest iTunes update.
    Every time I sync, iTunes resets the play count to zero on the track I happened to be playing at the time I started the sync. The track is always paused and I have tried going back to the beginning of the track and going to the previous track; but still the same result.
    The smart playlist I'm syncing selects 800 tunes at random based on play count > 0 and last played is not in the last 3 days. I suspect iTunes is having trouble with particular types of smart playlist - similar to problems some of us had with a previous update: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11332318#11332318

    After trying all sorts of different combinations of things I couldn't find any correlation to playlists. I actually didn't start having this problem until after I re-created my Library following these instructions:

    I only re-created the library to solve a separate issue with non-existant podcasts showing up in the Remote app. It did fix that problem, but created the play count syncing problem.
    I have now reverted back to my old library and the play count syncing problem is gone.
    So in my case this was clearly a problem with the actual iTunes library and not the syncing device (or somehow a combination of both).
    I tried testing a brand new library in iTunes 10, but the syncing problem was still there.
    It seems unlikely, but could this be a bug with libraries "created" in iTunes 10? I would assume most people have iTunes libraries that were created with an older version. There are probably not many people who have just started an iTunes library with version 10 and are also paying attention to play counts and how they sync. Perhaps this is why so few people seem to have this problem or be aware of it?
    Have any of you re-created your library with iTunes 10 or started a new library with iTunes 10?

  • How to reset a counter on external signal in LabView?

    I am using LabView v 8.5 and the NI USB-6211 to acquire signals, among them are the following:
    1) angular pulses from a rotary encoder
    2) a reference pulse for the rotary encoder witch will give a pulse on a specific position of the movement for every rotation
    3) value from a pressure sensor
    What I am trying to do is to create a pressure/volume diagram based on the pressure and volume inside a cylinder of an IC engine. To do this, I will need the angle of the engines crankshaft to calculate the pistons position in the cylinder. This way I can calculate the volume and put it in a xy graph to represent the volume (x-axis) and the pressure(y-axis).
    I am using clk0 to count the pulses from the angular encoder, and this works great. However I now need the reference pulse to somehow reset the count at the precise time it goes high in order to precisely know the angular position.
    How can I do this? And how precise will this be? And will I need any kind of synchronization with my pressure measurements? If so, how?
    The relevant part of the program I am working on resembles the Count Digital Events with reset.vi 33 KB as found in this thread. However, I don't know how to get the reference pulse to reset as the stop button is. How can I do this?
    In addition: the fast pulses of the angular encoder = 0-> ~10kHz. I seem to lose information if I use the basic level trigger detection.vi when I put this signal on an analog port.

    If you have an X Series or 2nd Generation cDAQ chassis (basically any cDAQ chassis except for the 9172 or 916x sleeves) then you can implement:
    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,(reset),1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,(reset),1,2...
    You would have to configure an Edge Count Task, set the initial value to 232 - 6 (such that the 6th count causes the counter to rollover, which generates a pulse on the counter output), and enable the count reset using your external signal:
    The count reset isn't currently available for other DAQ devices, but I believe it should be available on M Series (62xx) and TIO (660x, 6624) with a future driver release (some time in 2012).
    If you don't have an X Series (or gen II cDAQ), don't despair.  On other hardware, you can get close to the previous behavior with a counter output task, with the exception that the "reset" signal would only be detected after the 2nd tick after your pulse is output.  Also, the reset signal would have to occur at the beginning to arm the counter the first time.
    Or, you can get the 3rd behavior that you asked for by doing a continuous counter output task with the external signal as the source of the timebase ticks.  For example:
    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
    In toggle mode (default):
    6 ticks of initial delay, 2 ticks high, 7 ticks low, 2 ticks high, 7 ticks low, ... etc.
    In pulse mode:
    6 ticks of initial delay, 9 ticks high, 9 ticks low, 9 ticks high, 9 ticks low, ... etc.
    See here for an overview of the difference of the two modes.  Basically, pulse mode will emit a short pulse when TC is reached, and toggle mode will toggle the state of the counter.  You can't have less than 2 ticks as a high time, low time, or initial delay.

  • Problem resetting play count

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to reset the play count of all my tracks in iTunes. I've been doing this by selecting all tracks (2,862 tracks) and then control clicking the mouse to reset the play count. It asks me whether I'm sure and then I just get the beachball until I have to Force Quit. I've tried doing this with twenty tracks and I have the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going wrong ?

    Hello people, i have the same count problem in a 64 gig 3rd gen ipod touch. I've been trough all them iOS versions (j--b and also not j--b) and currently i have a fresh 4.3.2 (not j--b) and nothing has been fixed.
    I copied like 20 songs this morning and played them in random order. Then i plugged in and sync. Unplugged and after played certain song that was in 1. Plugged again and this song jumped to 5 just after one play.
    Bummer (just as Ellen Feiss would say)

  • How to sync play count between new iPad and Mac?

    I recently get a new iPad, and I listen to music on it a lot.  I would like to sync the "recently played" and "play count" with my computer, as I can with my iPhone, but it doesn´t seem to be doing that.  I have the ipad fully updated, and my computer too!
    Any ideas how to do this?
    On another note, my iTunes is allways above the other windows, I have checked my preferences and asked to NOT do this, but it persists.  Any ideas here?

    Hi, recently I've noticed that after syncing my iPod the play count for the tracks I've played that day are showing as 1 even though many of them have been played a lot more than that (some in the 100s). This has only been only happening since I upgraded my software to iTunes 10.2.2 and is very frustrating as I find the play count info very useful.
    Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

    When your ipod is plugged into your itune click on it in itune and uncheck sync at the bottom of the page.

  • How to reset a count variable in a conditional format trigger

    I am using a conditional format trigger to eliminate sections of a report where there is no data. The trigger is automatically generated by reports (shown below). the condition is :com_count = '0' therefore no record, no display of section - if :com_count>0 then data present and display record.
    It works fine eliminating the sections - until actual data is found - and count is set to 1 and it displays the record. The problem is that once :com_count >0, then the section displays throughout the rest of the report whether there is actually data or not.
    It seems that :com_count needs to be reset to 0, but when I try to do that, it throws an error stating that :com_count is a read only variable.
    I am new to PL/SQL so can anyone suggest how I can reset the :com_count to 0 each time the trigger fires with :com_count = 1?

    wher is your COM_COUNT defined?
    If should be defined in the datamodel in the "mastergroup" of the "detailgroup" of which you want to count the records.
    If you do so, there is a property of the item "Reset at" ( which is by default set to "Report") and you then can change it to the name of the mastergroup. So every time a new record is "active" in the mstergroup, the count-item will be reset to 0.

    The VBS association got associated to Notepad, usually accidentally with the Open With option. You will just need to change the Current Default program for the .vbs file extension (Name) to C:\Windows\System32\wscript.exe (Microsoft Windows Based Script Host) instead of Notepad. Method Two in this tutorial will show you how to if needed.

  • Is there a way to "reset" the games "played count" on the 5th Gen iPod Nano

    I was just looking through my new iPod Nano (16 GB), and happened to select
    all three games (Klondike, Maze and Vortex), but never played them, just looked and then
    quit out of each game. Now I have a "game played" count on all three games.
    I'm not sure if I may hang onto this iPod Nano or possibly look into an iTouch.
    If I sell this new one on eBay, I would like to know how to reset the "game counts"
    back to 0 or the original "default" of no game counts showing.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    By the way, why would Apple even need to show a "game played count" on any of
    the iPod Nano games ... very weird.

    I think the only way you can reset play counts on games is if you do a full restore of the ipod. But, then again, if you plan on selling it on ebay, it'd be probably be best if you do the restore, that way it'd be like opening a brand new ipod for the new owner.
    As for why Apple would want to keep track of game counts...I have no idea.
