You can't recover a password. You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
This will tell you how to restore
iTunes: Backing up, updating or restoring iOS software
If you cannot restore that way, you may have to use recovery mode
iPad: Unable to update or restore

  • GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song". Please Help!

I recently had a data transfer from my older mac to my newer one. After the transfer I logged into my new account and opened up my GarageBand. It worked perfectly fine, however when I logged into my old account with all my older data that I just transferred over, I could not open my GarageBand files and there is an error that states "GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song".If anyone could please help me with this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

When you transferred your data from your old mac, you may have accidentally transferred an older GarageBand version and either overwritten your newer version, or your old account still has the old GarageBand icon in the Dock.
Search with SpotLight, if you have more than one Garageband version on your new Mac (type "GarageBand" into the SpotLight search field). Does it list more than one GarageBand version? Then delete the older GarageBand.app.
What GarageBand version have you been using at your old mac, and what is the version on your new mac? If it has been bought recently, it should have come with GarageBand '11.

    Hi
If asset accounting is active also use OABL tcode.
As mentioned above, please be cautious when using these transactions.

  • Insert step after data transfer is complete within TDMS package

    Hello,
we want to start some jobs after data transfer is complete within TDMS package. For example we want to start the function DELETE_DATA_FOR_ALL_MI_DEVICES. Is this possible or is it possible to start any ABAP report or batchjob?
    Kind regards,
    Karlheinz

    Dear Karlheinz,
It is possible starting DMIS SP07 where you will find an option on the process tree in the work center that says 'Customize Monitor'. This option will you guide through creation of new activities, deletion of existing activities. You have to however create a Z report that pertains to the new activity and maintain some activity definitions.

How to reset password after ipod says disabled?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recovery use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
    Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.

I just checked my BIOS and my current setting is set at IDE although it also mentions that the default should be AHCI. Currently I have a dual boot of Windows 7 (need it for Tax software) and Arch
So I guess, when I get the new HDD, I will first set it to AHCI and then install the OSes on it. See if NCQ helps any, and if not I will turn it back and re-install (if I have to). I am planning to have Windows only in virtualbox in the new drive.
Anyhoo, while I was in the BIOS I found two things which I had questions about :
    1) Under Onboard Devices --> Integrated NIC , my setting is currently set at "On w/PXE" and it says the default should be just "On". Would it be ok to change it back to On since its a single machine and its not booting an OS on any server. I just don't want to have to re-install anything now since I will be doing that in the new HDD.
    2) How would I know whether my BIOS would support a 64 bit OS in Virtualbox? I checked some setting under Virtualization, but they weren't very clear.
I will edit this post and let you know exactly what settings were present under the Virtualization sub-section.

  • IPhoto in MacBook Pro 2013 only shows "place holders," but no photos, after data transfer from Macbook Air 32011

I am trying to transfer data from my MacBook Air 2011 to a "new" MacBook Pro 2013.  Both are running Yosemite 10.10.2.  Since Migration Assistant WOULD NOT WORK (the MacBook Air couldn't "see" the MacBook Pro), using my WiFi network, I transferred the necessary data to a 500GB drive and THEN to the MacBook Pro.  However, two programs didn't transfer well - or at all!  iTunes only transferred the Music (Media?) files, but not iTunes U, Podcasts, Audiobooks, etc.  I have had to  drill down into the storage files, retrieve the non-transferred files and add them, one by one - a most laborious task.  But, this is nothing compared to the problem with iPhoto (9.6), which shows only 6 events and 4 Faces transferred, with the rest only place holders (black boxes and grey dotted squares) in all the folders in my iPhoto.
I "Showed Package Contents," and found the missing files - of which there are many! - and started adding them, again, one by one.
Can anyone tell me what happened to my iPhoto (Yosemite 10.10.2)?  It's fine on my MacBook Air, but simply WON'T TRANSFER to my MacBook Pro?
PLEASE - someone tell me how to CORRECTLY transfer my iPhoto files and/or HOW TO MAKE THE MACBOOK AIR "SEE" THE MACBOOK PRO in Migration Assistant?

    Hello Mary,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with moving your data over to your new Mac. There are a few alternatives that you can do to migrate that data if you are not seeing it in Migration Assistant. The first is make a Time Machine back up to that 500 Gb external hard drive and then use that in Migration Assistant to copy the entire data over. If you do that you will want to remove any data that you have on your MacBook Pro after the transfer completes as it will create another user with the data from the MacBook Air. Another option is to use a Thunderbolt Cable that you can purchase online if you want and use the option from another disk to copy that over. Take a look at the articles below for more details.

How to reset i pod after disabled

    Hi..
    Password or passcode?
If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.
Instructions for putting the device in recovery mode > iOS: Unable to update or restore
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • How do I "Init without data transfer' using 7.0 transformations and DTP's?

I have a data-mart situation where I have a standard DSO object that sends deltas up to a standard cube.  This data flow is created with 7.0 transformation and a delta type DTP and has been running fine.
I now have a new single activated request loaded to the DSO object but I DO NOT want this request to delta update to the cube. In 3.x, I used to go into the init infopackage, manually delete the initialization pointer, and run a 'Initialize Without Data Transfer' to make this work.  Deltas could then continue as before.
I do not see a way to do this using 7.0 transformations and DTP's.  I want to reset the init from DSO to cube so this request does not get updated.  Does anyone have step by step ideas on how this can be accomplished?
Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

    Hi,
delete the data in the cube by using oprtion selective deletion based on request number.
(if delta request is deleted from cube, with next load last delta records will also come)
in this scenario there is no need to delete initiaizations option.
in BI 7.0, initialization load is not there.
see below documentation on DTP in SAP help.
"On the Extraction tab page, specify the parameters:
    a.      Choose Extraction Mode.
You can choose Delta or Full mode.
In contrast to a delta transfer with an InfoPackage, an explicit initialization of the delta process is not necessary for the delta transfer with a DTP. When the data transfer process is executed in delta mode for the first time, all existing requests are retrieved from the source and the delta status is initialized. "

  • How can I check the data transfer rate of my FW800 port

I have an iMac 2.4 20 inch (MB323LL/A) with a Lacie external rugged hard drive (320 GB). I have attached it using my FW800 port with the cable supplied with the drive.
It seems slow to me so I was wondering if there is any way to see what the current data transfer is for a backup in progress. Of course it should be 800Mbps but is it really moving at that speed ? How can I tell what speed it is transferring at ? Can I use the same method for USB ports too ?

When you move a large file, you are more likely to see a sustained transfer rate than a small file. Small files have to be individually read/write back and forth, thus slows the actual transfer rate down. If you are moving any file up to 4 GB and probably over 1 MB you'll see more realistic transfer rates. Furthermore your hard drive access time, and RPM figures into the equation too, as well as how much RAM you have. 800Mbps works out to 100 Megabytes per second under ideal conditions.

  • How to reset sites in Safari asked not to auto fill

    Good day,
First off, I don't really post here so it is just appropriate to say that I love Apple and I totally love Mac OS X. I've seen the operating system evolve since Tiger about 8+ years ago when I bought my first Macbook Pro and I'm on my 3rd one now. Well done to Apple with the latest Mac OS X Mavericks, it's fantastic.
I used to ask Safari not to autofill on certain sites in the past. I can't remember why exactly but I figure it was because the autofill and keychain didn't work as I expected or wanted it to work so it caused problems. I've also used 1Password all the time so I could've pressed "Never Save..." for the sites I regularly use to prevent the double-dialog.
Now, with the latest iCloud Keychain, it works much better and there are some sites where I want to use it but previously asked not to prefill on those sites and can't figure out how to reset them so that they will ask and autofill again like other sites. With the iCloud Keychain, it is almost good enough to ditch 1Password. It works really well, I love it, especially since I can do so much more with my iPhone now which I didn't do before since I don't know all my logins off by memory.
So, ultimately, how to reset the list of sites I've asked Safari not to save and autofill usernames/passwords on?
I've tried the "Allow autofill even for websites that request passwords not to be saved" but that doesn't work.
Some sites simply don't ask and simply don't autofill at all.
I've searched the internet and checked all the settings but I cannot find a solution.
I hope it makes sense and I hope that someone can help me to figure it out please.
    All the best

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ AutoFill ▹ User names and passwords ▹ Edit...
Find the site and delete the entry from the list.

  • We can see thumbnails of horizontal photos but can't see full size photos after data transfer to new mac

    hello,
We just updated to a new mac from a 7 year old Mac because the logic board died. =The Apple reseller did a data transfer and now we cannot see full size photos on our new screen. We see the thumb nails but when we try to open a photo in the photo section of the library we get a black screen with an exclaimation mark. How do we fix this?
    thanks!

When you first boot your new Mac, it will boot into Setup Assistant. It will walk you through registration and then ask you if you want to migrate. Choose the disk you want to migrate from and choose all settings. No newer apps will be overwritten with older ones. No third party software will be lost. Although you should check compatiblity of apps with ML.

  • IPhoto a complete mess after data transfer

My 5yr old MacBook recently quit on me, and I had to buy a new one.  I had The Geek Squad do a data transfer to my new MacBook.  They had some issues with Time Machine corrupting during the transfer and eventually had to take apart my old Book to directly access my harddrive.  I now have my new MacBook, but my iPhoto is not nicely organized like it was before.  It has put all my 4,888 photos taken between 4/1/11 - 8/2/11 into one Event.  All of their photo info seems to be intact, so I'm not sure why they weren't split into events by date.  The iPhoto on my new Book is a bit different than the one on my old one (it took me forever to even figure out how to see the photo info), so maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, FYI, I'm no computer genius, so please "speak" to me in simple terms.

OMGosh, thank you so much!   That was it!  All fixed and all good.    I have a lot to learn with my new iPhoto.  This may seem extreme, but <<hugs>> to you.

  • Unable to verify phone numbers | Free Data transfer limit | Free Azure Trial Subscription

    Hello,
I have the following questions and suggestions:
    1. Unable to verify phone numbers:
I am trying to signup for azure subscription which comes as a benefit out of my BizSpark subscription. But I can't use the phone numbers which I have already used to signup for azure subscription. I have contacted the Azure customer support team, they said
they can't whitelist my mobile numbers instead they can bypass the mobile verification if i provide them the Live id which I am going to use to signup for Azure subscription. Why this is so difficult whereas i have to create azure subscription for my members
for which i will be using my mobile numbers for phone verification.
Please do whitelist my mobile numbers so that i can signup for azure subscription without any hassle.
    2. When creating a Virtual Machine it's better to have a total price based on the VM configuration (CPU Cores, Memory, Region etc.,) Because Azure pricing is still confusing and expensive. This will help the users to use the Azure within the limit of the
    free credit.
    3. Unfortunately the "Data Transfer Out (GB)" is not free which is really annoying and causing users to ignore the usage of the azure VMs inside their credit limit.  I have the following suggestions:
Data Transfer out (GB) should have a maximum free limit of 5-10TB per month or according to the data usage every month. This will make the users to use the Azure VMs.
It would be nice if "Standard IO - Page Blob/Disk (GB) & Standard IO - Block Blob (GB)" offered for free.
Azure subscription comes as a benefit for MSDN subscribers where they pay thousands of dollars so they should get something for the money they have paid already for the MSDN subscription.
The concept of the Free trial Azure subscription should be changed, it has to be completely free. Not every students/developers have the credit card to add for security and verification purpose.
As i already stated above if the Azure subscription has a certain limits on Data Transfer (Upload) and Page Blob / Block. The user will not be able to over use the Azure service.
    Thanks
    Prabhu
