How to resize existing magazine page size to 320x480

Hi
I would like to resize an existing magazine page to the size of an iPhone 320*480
When we set the page size of a new document (File-document-page size) we can change the width and the height.
But if I have to resize an existing magazine page in InDesign to iphone size, how do I do?
Also the text and the images should be placed correctly, and the page layout should look the same when i resize.
If  I resize them and then export, the XML created should be the size of iPhone (this is what I want to achieve)
Is this possible?
Please help!
Thanks in advance!

Hello Bob
Thanks for the quick reply!
Looks like it is possible but time consuming...
I was wondering if something could be done with help of the "master page"
If default settings are set to master page, can it be replicated to the
child master pages.
Not sure if I was clear in conveying.

How can I change the page size of a scanned PDF document?
I scanned a 50-page document with an HP 5610xi All-In-One using the software that comes with it: HP Scan Pro. Though the physical document has standard 8.5" x 11" pages, the PDF resulting from scanning has page size set to 35.42 × 48.67 inches (according to Preview's "Tools > Inspector". I want to resize the pages to 8.5" x 11". Shouldn't Preview be able to do that with "Tools > Adjust Size..."? When I try, the menu option is grey so I can't select it.
    I'm using Preview Version 4.2.

Thanks for the insight; that explains why it's the wrong size. I selected 300dpi scanning (which is the default, actually), but HP Scan Pro evidently created a PDF with 72dpi indicated. I want it fixed because I want to distribute the file to other people and have them able to print or display it without problems.
I still don't know why Preview won't let me change it, but your question about whether I wanted to print it did lead me to find a workaround: "File > Print" and "Save as PDF..." saved it with the correct page size.

How can I change the page size of a pdf so i can view it on my iphone more clearly?

I think there may be more to this question than you say.
If your PDF page is say, 8 x 12 inches, and you found a way to scale it to 25%, changing it to 2 x 3 inch, shrinking everything on the page to quarter size - wouldn't it look exactly the same on the iPhone? It's just going to be the same as zooming.
Or were you hoping for something more like in Word, where changing the page size keeps everything the same size and spreads it over more pages? That isn't something you can do.

  • How to resize to fit paper size? I have Envy 7640 printer.

I accidentally was able to resize a photo the other day to fit the paper.  Now when I want to do it, I can't figure out how to do it.    I have a Mac.  Thank you in advance.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that you are wondering how to resize to fit paper size, with your HP Envy 7640 on a Mac. I am happy to help! What version of the Mac Operating System are you using? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos. What is the name of the program you are printing from? In the meantime, please see this article, OS X Mountain Lion: Scale a document to fit your printer’s paper, as I am sure the settings are universal between Mac OS X Operating Systems. Hope this works!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • How do I normalize pdf page sizes

Seems like this should be more obvious but I'm stuck for solutions.
I keep getting these pdfs from clients that have pages of many different dimensions. I'm batch processing these for various uses and the irregular sizes really throw a wrench in the works.
My question, is there a way to batch pdfs (tool, command line, server or anything) so that all the pages are the exact same dimension?
Mind you, cropping is not an option unless that means adding some padding to the smaller pages so that they match the larger ones. Scaling is probably ok too but for now I just want to hear any options that are out there.
    Thanks pros!

    Well, that is a start.
Under the latest Acrobat for Macintosh (10.1.4), there is no Crop menu. (Menus are a tried and true user interface tool, so Adobe got rid of them).
    You choose the Crop Tool.
Then you select an area larger than your document (if you select an area smaller than your document, sometimes the resize page also crops--I don't understand).
Then you double click your crop (so much for direct selection with a tool). A dialog box comes up.
Note that it says that the current page size is 11 x 8.5 (approx). Then choose Tabloid, and the dialog shows an expanded page size of 11 x 17, with the pdf stretched to fit.
Then you click All pages, and OK, and voilá, your document does have a new page size, but it is 17 x 11, not 11 x 17, and the white space is on top, not equally distributed as shown. But at least it hasn't stretched your scanned document as is implied by the dialog.
However, if you try to generalize to get the page size that you want, it doesn't work.
For instance, if you try to resize a document that is 11" x 8.486" (my document) to 14" x 9", a dialog comes up that says "Page size may not be reduced". If you try to resize it to 9" x 14" (just in case you misunderstood which is X and which is Y), no error message comes up, but the page size is not changed.
I'll futz around with this some more, but, Man, is Acrobat a time-sink.
    Thanks

  • How do I set the Page size default in Adobe Reader using Window 8?

I need to set the page size everytime I go to print from my Adobe Reader in my windows 8. Is there a way to set the page I want letter (8.5 by 11) as a default? So I do not have to do this everytime I print something?

I can't help but wonder why Adobe doesn't respond to this - at this point there are 464 views of this item and still no answer. I have the same problem and it's a big irritation to have to set the duplex mode everytime I want to print!

  • How do I change the page size of a pdf?

I'm trying to send a manuscript to a printing service in another city. It was produced using Microsoft Publisher. In Acrobat Pro I changed the page size from the default (8 1/2" x 11") to the size of my finished document --- 7.8" x 10". Yet when I send the manuscript to the printer it's still the larger size. I've tried right-clicking on the pdf printer and changing to a close approximation (7.5" by 10"), which is listed as one of the available alternatives, but it won't let me change it. What am I doing wrong?

There's no real need to do that. A PDF can have pages of different sizes.

  • How do you change default page size in pdf?

I purchased CREATE solely to create a pdf file from a scanned document. I created the PDF but the default page size is 30.15 x 20.83 INCHES. I cannot seem to change the page size. I called support services 4 times (talking with Sakthivel, Shashank, Medhet, and one other.) Each time they indicated that they would connect me to the correct people and they disconnected. I want some answers please. This seems to be a simple question. Is Adobe CREATE merely a scam?

  • How can I define the page size in mm instead of pixel?

    Any help is appreciated.

There is no page size in Keynote, it does not have the ability to scale to a physical dimension.
Keynote is a video based application, the end product is a slide presentation, therefore pixels are used to define the size of slides.
It can print handouts and outline notes, but these have a preset template to allow printing of a thumbnail image and notes.
If your end product is paper, use the iWork companion application, Pages or another page layout application.

  • How can I add to page size and add crop marks?

I have a 50 page pdf file, A4, RGB. There are no crop marks. I need to add 1/2" to each dimension on each page (centering the image, of course), add crop marks for A4 size, convert to CMYK, to make press ready. I'm having trouble with each aspect of this. When I expand the page size then try to crop to A4, Acrobat tells me that the crop marks may overlap the art and I should consider cropping. I click okay, get the crop window, and that doesn't seem to work either. I'd love to create an action to do this but I can't even perform any of the pieces of it!
I am working on a PC, running Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro CC.

  • How can I change the page size in an existing layout?

I have an 8.5x11 layout that I need to change to 8x10 without starting over again… Help?

If you just need to change the size of the page, go to File > Document Setup
Check out the Layout Adjustment feature as well -- it will make things
that are close to margins cling to the margins if the doc is resized.
But if you want to simply scale the entire document and everything
that's in it to the new size, check out:

  • How to change the document page size in a PDF?

OK can't figure a way to do this and hoping it's still possible. On mac snow leopard, adobe X pro. Use to be able to resize the pages in a pdf by printing to the pdf distiller. As this is no longer possible how do I accomplish this? I often have document set pdf's that are  30" x 42" that I want to create a pdf on letter or tabloid size. I can print - so i'm not talking about that. I mean creating a new pdf where the new document size is letter or tabloid. There must be a way to have Adobe save out a new pdf with the pages scaled? HELP it's driving me crazy

  • How to edit existing captured pages

Ok, I am going to try and describe this, and I appreciate your patience and thoughtfulness.  I am hoping to get the language correct on the aspects of the question.  I have an existing pages template which has several "captured" pages that are available to append to the active document by clicking on the "sections" button.  A drop down menu opens and I choose from that list what page I want to append to the existing document. I would like to know how to edit the contents of a few of those captured pages and continue using them as I have been.  I know I created this docment with the help of the Apple store staff about three years ago, but can't recall how to change this and would appreciate your assistance.

You do the editing and then capture the page again.

  • How to change existing database block size in all tablespaces

    Hi,
Need Help to change block size for my existing database which is in 8kb of block size.
I have read that we can only change block size during database creation, but i want to change it after database installation.
because for some reason i dont want to change the database installation script.
Can any one list the steps to change database block size for all existing table space (except system, temp ).
want to change it to 32kb.
    Thank you for you time.

    > We are facing more and more physical reads, I thought by using 32K block size
    we would resolve that..
A physical read reported by Oracle may not be - it could well be a logical read from the o/s file system cache and not a true physical read. With raw devices for example, a physical I/O reported by Oracle is indeed one as there is no o/s cache for raw devices. So one needs to be careful how aone interprets number like physical reads.
Lots of physical reads may not necessarily be a bad thing. In contrast, a high percentage of "good/fast" logical reads (i.e. a high % buffer cache hit ratio) may indicate a serious problem with application design - as the application is churning through the exact same data again and again and again. Applications should typically only make a single pass through a data set.
The best way to deal with physical reads is to make them less. Simple example. A database deals with a lot of inserts. Some bright developer decided to over-index a table. Numerous indexes for the same columns exist in difference physical column orders.
Oracle now spends a lot of time dealing (reading) with these indexes when inserting (or updating a row). A single write I/O may incur a 100 read I/Os as a result of these indexes needing to be maintained.
The bottom line is that "more and more physical I/O" is merely a symptom of a problem. Trying to speed these up could well be a wasted exercise. Besides, the most optimal approach to "lots of I/O" is to tune it to make less I/O.
I/O is the most expensive operation for a RDBMS. It is very difficult to make this expense less (i.e. make I/Os faster). It is more effective to make sure that you use this expensive resource in an optimal way.
Simple example. Single very large table with 4 indexes. Not very efficient design I/O wise. Single very large partitioned table with local indexes. This can reduce I/O on that table by up to 80% in my experience.
