If you are a developer, you should be posting in the Developers Forum.
If you are not a developer, you are using unauthorized software and can get no help here.
You cannot restore a backup made with one version of iOS to a device running an
earlier version. If you have a backup made with 8.2 or earlier, use that. If your
only backup is the one made with 8.3, you cannot use it except on iPhone running 8.3
Standard beta testing practice is to backup (and test the backup) before installing
beta software. Have you failed to do this?
Where did you get the beta software? If from a 'friend 'or some web-site other than Apple,
you may have bigger problems than being unable to install the backup on 8.2

  • HT1766 How to restore an IOS7 back up to a new replacement Ipad2 that came with IOS6.3

Hi all I have just replaced my wife's broken Ipad2 with a replacement Ipad2 from our local Apple Store. The new IPad 2 came with IOS 6.3 but the old backup was in IOS7.4 I have set up the new iPad with Ios7.4 as in its native state it wouldn't restore the backup as it said it needed to be iOS 7.4 to restore so I had no choice other than set it up as a new iPad My question is ...How do I restore the old back up? Now that I have the correct operating system in place.
    I'd appreciate some help. Thanx

Set up the new one as new. Give it a new name, any random name. then go into the settings, erase all content and settings, then restore it from the backup of your old one.
basically set it up as new long enough to update the iOS, then put your backup on it.

  • How to restore ipod touch back to new

how do i restore my ipod back to new, I bought it of of my mother in law and i want to erase everything from email to credit card info?

    Two ways.
On the iPod Touch go to Settings > General > Reset and select Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase everything on the iPod Touch except for the firmware and included apps, which is a secure erase.
Or restore your iPod Touch with iTunes as a new iPod Touch or not from the backup. Do not sync your iPod Touch with iTunes after doing so.

  • How to restore iPhone 3G back from OS4 to previous version of the OS?

OS4 is PAINFULLY slow on our 3G phones. Anyone have instructions on how to restore the 3G phone back to the 3.x OS?

As there is no official way it cannot be talked about here...thus our suggestion for Google. If you cannot find info, try different search terms. Like rollback OS or something else.

  • I had my OS reinstalled on to my Macbook Pro. I did back it up on to a WD HD via Time Machine prior. Now I don't know how to restore from my back up.

I had my OS reinstalled on to my Macbook Pro due to having issues turning it on prior. I did back up my system on to a WD external hard drive via the Time Machine prior to the reinstallation. But now that it is reinstalled on to my laptop and its turning on normally, I want to be able to restore to the back up that I have on my external HD from prior to the reinstallation of my OS.

Use Migration Assistant to restore the backup. Connect the external drive with this backup, open Migration Assistant (it's in /Applications/Utilities) and follow the steps. It will create a new user with the migrated files.

  • My airplay is missing from the command center menu on my iPad. How do I get it back after the iOS 7 update?

I recently updated to iOS 7 on my ipad2 and 3 before I realized airplay no longer works on either of them. I understand I should be able to manage it in the new command center, but airdrop nor airplay is listed there at all. I have tried turning the iPad off and back on as well as resetting it. How can I get it back?

Try looking for it on all your home screens and folders.
If its not there, make sure it diod not get restricted under Settings->General->Restrictions->Camera

  • How to restore lost music back onto iPod?

Background: A few days ago, I synced my iPod. Not sure exactly what I did, but something cause all of my videos and music to be deleted from my iPod during the sync. Anyhoo, I noticed afterward that, under "On My Device," all of my songs and playlists were still intact (as if they are hidden on my iPod, or at least the data is saved somewhere). How do I get what I see on my computer screen to go back onto my iPod?
And also, what does the sync button do in the below picture? Does it put computer stuff--> iPod, or put iPod stuff-->computer?

    Thanks for reading.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
The sync button does it want is says. However. it looks gray and thus not active.

  • How to restore Time Machine back-up if not even Recovery Tools work?

After a hard and unexpected crash on 2012 macMini I tried everything from this list: OS X Yosemite: Ways to start up your Mac Only 2 things worked: hardware test (via Ethernet: option+D; everything passed) and detailed status mode (command+V) which listed a bunch of errors concerning booting (missing or corrupted files and/or folders). Which is probably the reason I couldn't launch Recovery Tools - neither locally nor directly via Internet (Ethernet plugged in,  option+command+R). I would get the message that the Tools are launching, but after the Apple logo showed up followed by the spinning circle, the screen would go light grey 4-5 seconds into the process and the thin black progress bar would appear. It would grow to 1/3 of its length, stop for several seconds, then the computer would restart, the bar would show up again, grow to 1/3 etc., etc.
Assuming that nothing else could be done I started the mini in the target mode (T), plugged it into my old 2007 mini and re-formatted the internal drive, thinking that I could either try Recovery Tools again (no luck) or just clean install Yosemite on the 2012 mini first and then use my Time Machine back-up to restore my files. Unfortunately 2007 mini can only install Lion - even on the external drive - but nothing higher (so I can't upgrade to Mountain Lion, Mavericks and finally to Yosemite). And 2012 would not start with Lion on it. Still no luck with Internet Recovery Tools btw (same symptoms).
The only other thing I can think of is finding a newer Mac and use it to install Mavericks or Yosemite on my 2012 mini. If this fails, it's a trip to the Apple store.
If anyone has any other ideas, please share.
    (2012 has no CD/DVD drive)

Your description of Internet Recovery sounded much like Safe Mode, not Internet Recovery. I don't think you will see an Apple at all. It should be a spinning Globe. Or, when you say "spinning circle" was that the globe spinning?
From the App Store on the 2007 mini, can you download the Yosemite installer?
That's about all I can think of besides taking it to an Apple Store.

  • How to restore an ios7 back up to a replacement with ios6?

The battery burst on my 5th gen iPod touch. The replacement comes with ios6, which will not allow me to restore from an ios7 back up. When I set it up as a new iPod, it will not give the option to restore that back up I had made, seems to have already decided it is a registered as a different iPod. But it did let me restore from a 4th gen iPod I have, but that does not help me.

All you can do is try to "extract" data from the iPod backup that iTunes made of the 5G iPod.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
If I understand you correctly, you performed some sort of update that wiped out your data on your BB, and you did not perform a backup prior to doing that. As such, there is no way to get your data back.
    Good luck!
