How to restore a deleted database in Hyperion Strategic Finance (HSF).

I deleted a database from my HSF server and would like to restore in now. Prior to deletion, I had saved the entire database in an external drive. How can I retrieve it will full access?
Thanks.

I am not aware of a way to restore a particular report,
However the reporting environment is built off the file system and the BI Plus database.
You could stop the environment,
Take a current backup of E:\Hyperion\BIPlus\data\RM1_* directory and the BI Plus database,
Recover the directory above and database from last night's backup, start the services
export the report and then reverse the process - stop services, restore current versions that you backed up and start back up...

  • How to restore a deleted built-in app (Maps)?  App disappeared: IOS 4 & 3GS

Does anyone know how to restore a deleted built-in app?
In my case the Maps app disappeared. According to other posts in this forum you cannot delete a built-in app such as Maps but it has happened on my iPhone 3GS.
    I'm running IOS 4.

If you are unable to locate the Maps app you can still access it from the Spotlight search window. Just type in Maps, look for the familiar interstate 280 icon, tap there and you will enter the Maps app. This will work for you until you can locate the icon, which hopefully you will.

How to restore a deleted contact

I've seen a number of posters claim to see recovered contacts after a restore, only to see them disappear again a few seconds later. From this I assumed that contacts are backed up but overwritten by iCloud when syncing commences again, because iCloud was technically the most current version.
In response to these reports, I have put together the following advice:
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete the iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
I have also noted that other users have found this to work.

I used this to restore my deleted notes from Time Machine, hope this helps others
    closed Notes,
    turned WiFi off,
entered finder/go+option/ to 'get to library':  /Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes/
entered TM and selected the 3 files/ hit restore/ keep both (just to make sure, then I deleted the newer file, not the 'restored' file when this worked out)
opened notes and my deleted notes were back so I copied my notes into pages as a backup,
turned on WiFi and the notes disappeared!
replaced my restored notes by copy/pasting my backups into notes/iCloud....
notes/mac would not show across iCloud.... don't remeber this being an issue prior to Mavericks when 'all' notes were selected?
Apple needs to hear from us so they can fix glitches like this.  TM was created for instances like this, hopefully this is just an oversite.  Pass this along to Apple Feedback/iCloud/bug.  If enough of us flag such issues, hopfully it's addressed on the next update.
Dear Apple, this should be much easier than it is. We should be able to open Notes, go into Time Machine, and restore anything regardless if it's on my Mac or on the cloud.

  • How to Restore Data Deleted  from Time Capsule Hard Drive

This question is more about the time capsule in general as opposed to a specific time machine issue.
I'm using my time capsule as an external hard drive that I can access wirelessly and I have accidentally deleted a folder. It didn't go into the trash can on the computer I used to delete the file from my TC, it just disappeared. I have data recovery software (Data Rescue III) but it is unable to locate the TC since it is not a plugged in device. I've tried connecting my computer to the TC via wireless, ethernet, and usb but Data Rescue still won't detect the TC.
How can I get the files back? Is there a way to restore files deleted from the TC when it's being used as a hard drive (not as a time machine for backups)?
    THANKS!!!

There is only one USB port on the back of the Time Capsule, and AFAICT from reading Apple's documentation, the only uses for that port are to connect an external hard drive or printer. You could try connecting that port to your Mac directly via USB cable, but nothing I can find indicates it would work, and you would be solely responsible if it somehow damaged either device (which may or may not even be a possible side effect).
Unfortunately, if connecting the Mac to the Time Capsule via USB does not work, you're probably out of luck. Unless you are willing to crack open the Time Capsule, remove the hard drive and put it in an external enclosure so you can access it with Data Rescue, your data will remain lost. Note for the future that you absolutely *should not ever* keep original, un-backed-up data on a backup drive. It's poor organization and dangerous to boot.

  • How to restore a deleted iCloud note from time machine backup?

The short of it... one of my kids decided they didn't need certain notes, therefore deleted them!!!!
(my fault i did not have notes/synced/off on new device!),
but they are important and iCloud is synced across all devices and those notes are gone.
Wasn't sure if a device/ restore from back up would work - didn't.
Tried some of the Apple Communities/ going to lib/ turn off wifi/ move the 3 files to desktop/ move back to lib file, nothing.
Could I get some 'really specific' step by steps?  seems others have had success, and maybe i'm in TM when I should be on my Mac or vice versa?! or in the wrong library?
My TM backups just does not let me get anywhere to restore those deleted notes.
    Any help would be wonderful!
    Thanks
Thinking Apple should have given us an iCloud safety net or at least allow TM/ iCloud to be userfriendly.

  • Powerpoint Smartview for Hyperion Strategic Finance

    Hi,
I want to see my strategic finance report with Powerpoint. Firstly I can connect strategic finance reports with MS Excel. But I cannot successfully connection Strategic Finance with MS Powerpoint. I try use Shared Connections and Private Connections, But I cannot success. How can I connect strategic finance with powerpoint. My MS Office 2010 32 Bit and Windows 2008 Server 64 Bit.
    Thanks

Funny, I just answered this for a client. 11.1.2.2 Smart View will not work with 11.1.2.1 HSF. HSF has to be on 11.1.2.2
I had confirmed this with the Smart View development team

  • How to restore a deleted file?

    Hi
I have seen a lot here about how to find checked in original files in KPRO (Content Server) and using LOIO_ID and PHIO_ID.
We need to know if it is possible to restore a file from content server if we have deleted it from the DIR.
I can see that the LOIO_ID is still in the change documents for the DIR after deletion, while the PHIO_ID is not in the change documents any more.
As I understand it, the files are not deleted from our content server when we delete the file from the DIR.  But of course the connection is lost.
But as I can see we still have the LOIO_ID.
Any way of finding the link from the LOIO_ID to the physical file in the content server?
So that we can restore it back to the DIR it was deleted by mistake.
    Best regards
    Tom Saga

    Hi,
So my question is will LOIO_ID and/or PHIO_ID be that link. or can I find the physical link adress to Content Server file via LOIO_ID?
SAP Object is linked to LOIO id and original documents are linked to PHIO id. And there is relationship between LOIO and PHIO ids for each method of document upload
Based on PHIO id, the originals can be retrieved from database table or content server wherever applicable. The originals in database table are available in binary format
    For example:
    ========
    PHIO Class: DMS_PCD1
    LOIO Class: DMS_LCD1
    Default Content Category: DMS_C1_ST
    SAP Database Content Table: DMS_CONT1_CD1
PHIO and LOIO Relationship table: DMS_PH_CD1
SAP Object and LOIO Relationship Table: DMS_DOC2LOIO
Follow the process as below to fetch the originals
    1)       Fetch LOIO id for the document using table DMS_DOC2LOIO.
    2)       Fetch the PHIO id from the table DMS_PH_CD1 corresponding to LOIO id.
    3)       Get the original from the content server or SAP database table based on PHIO id.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,

  • How to restore or attach database

    Hi all,
I had installed oracle 9.i on PC01 computer, then I created database is KT01 at C:\oracle\oracledata\KT01 path.
Unfortunately, PC01 has died, but I didn't backup KT01 database. so I must install oracle 9.i on PC02 computer, and copy KT01 folder that contain data in PC01 to PC02.
    - if I create database with the same name and path is C:\oracle\oracledata\KT01 on PC02, and copy KT01 database from PC01 to overwrite on PC02. then mount and start KT01 database, it is ok.
    - if I create database with the same name, but difference path (example: D:\oracle\oracledata\KT01) on PC02, and copy KT01 database from PC01 to overwrite on PC02. then mount and start KT01 database. it is not run, how can I sovle this problem
    - in case, oracle in PC01 is version 8.x, but oracle version in PC02 is 9.i, How can I do it.
    please help me, thanks.

    Hi.
If you have all datafile from original database you can simply move all files from pc01 to kt01 in a folder you decide.
Than you have to recreate the controlfiles. You need to change the initialization parameter file so that the controlfile parameter points to the new location. Also when moving the files over you need only the datafiles. Controlfile is recreated aswell as the redolog files when doing a open resetlogs. If you want to change the database name, you substitute the
    CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSEwith
CREATE CONTROLFILE SETBelow is an example of recreation of controlfiles using the resetlogs option:
(Substitute the datafile and redo log locations)
    # Set #2. RESETLOGS case
    # The following commands will create a new control file and use it
    # to open the database.
    # The contents of online logs will be lost and all backups will
    # be invalidated. Use this only if online logs are damaged.
    STARTUP NOMOUNT
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "DBTEAM" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG

It is not possible to clone a database between versions. If you want to upgrade to 9i, you should probably startup the database on 8i, do an export as system user and import it into a newly created 9i database. Or use the direct upgrade path from metalink.

  • How to restore a deleted iOS Keynote file on iCloud?

    Ok -- i screwed up.
    heres my setup:
    iPad 1 (iOS 5.01), iPhone 4 (iOS 5.01), MacBook Air Core i7 (10.7.2)  <---- synched to -----> iCloud
I use Keynote daily and have presentations synched between all my devices.  I accidently deleted a keynote file on my iPhone... and within minutes it was deleted on iCloud and my iPad.
I had a look on my MacBook Air to see if i could find anything in "~/Library/mobile documents/com~apple~Keynote/Documents" there was nothing to be found as expected. I even looked in "~/Library/mobile documents.deleted" -- but i couldn't even find this folder.
SO. Next Step.  Restore from iPad backup.
My iPad backups occur everynight into iCloud.  I tried to restore from the 3 backups stored in iCloud.
After restoring from the iPad backup -- i strarted up Keynote and briefly for about half a second, i could see the 2 deleted documents (greyed out)... but then they disappeared.
I even tried deleteing iCloud document synching immediately after the backup -- but then when i startup Keynote it says that that my documents have been moved to iCloud, which i can access after enabling iCloud.  Duh.  Hello.  I want to restore the documents from the Backup.
I have spent 4-5 hours with some helful apple support guys -- but there seemed no solution to this problem.
    1.WHat are my options?
    2. Why can't i restore a Keynote file from my iPad backup (regardless if it was deleted in iCloud).
This is  MAJOR bug with iCloud.  And i need to get to the bottom of this with Apple.

Your suggestion about Time Machine is noted -- and i think good advice for the future although i think most users would be rather confused on the usefuleness of Time Machine when dealing with iCloud synching with iOS devices.
Its far from obvious on how to access those iOS/iCloud synched documents on OS X Lion.
But the question remains:  If a file is deleted in iCloud -- should you be able to restore it from an iPhone or iPad backup?

  • HELP! QUICK! how to RESTORE accidently deleted folders in ITUNES??

how do i restore a folder that i accidently deleted that i created in itunes? ***** because all of those playlists were deleted too!

nope didnt work. i just luckily had a backup copy of the library before i started making the folders. deleted the current library (after backing it up), copied the older backup library into the folder, loaded itunes, exported the playlists that were accidently deleted, closed itunes. I then deleted current library, copied later library into folder (second backup) and then imported the playlists, thus creating them again and adding them to the newly created folder.
