How to restore a preset?
I've accidentally deleted a preset "vocal remove" under stereo imagery (center channel extractor), how can I restore it? Anyone can give me the parameters f there is no way to restore it? Should I re-install it??
I'm using Adobe Audition CS6.

With Windows 7, navigate to c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\5.0 and locate the EffectPreset .xml file, and delete it. When you restart Audition, this file will be renewed automatically with the original default presets in it.
The only thing you should note is that this file path may well be hidden in your computer - you have to unhide hidden files. Also, this is only the PC path - heaven only knows where this is in a Mac...
If somebody who knows would care to add the Mac information to this thread, I'll turn the whole lot into a FAQ.

For some reason, workspace views dissapeared, it is any way to restore original defaults? I've tried everything,even tried to create new workspaces but nothing similar as the originals. Please if somebody can help me with this>

But not going to C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Adobe\Audition\3.0 and finding the folder DefaultWorkspaces, I suspect. When you've found it, delete it and every subfolder within it. If you can't find it, you need to enable viewing of hidden files and folders in your system - otherwise it's invisible (obviously!)
When Audition restarts, it will automatically be restored with default values. You can do this to the UserWorkspaces folder too if you want, and an empty one will be restored.
Incidentally this applies to other setup files in Audition too - if you want to make sure that you can restore your own settings in case of corrupted .xml files, then back up the effects_settings.xml and audition_settings.xml files so that you can replace corrupted ones if necessary. But if you just want to restore the defaults, then simply delete the existing files, which will automatically be replaced by defaults upon restart. -
Restore default presets in local adjustments
I think that there is a problem when restoring default presets in local adjustments. I can not restore them, both from the preferences window and from the menu in local adjustments.
By the way, I'm storing my presets with the catalog.how to restore these presets.
By reinstalling any Adobe app that makes use of the shared PDF components. The presets themselves are stored in the pertinent program folder and also in your user data folder. In fact if you simply create a new user account they may magically show up because they were re-created/ copied with factory defaults... On the other hand that may also point to possible permissions issues with your own user account - the files may be there, but inaccessible due to insufficient privileges. Other than that really simply reinstall.

How to restore old prefs, etc after clean reinstall of 10.3.9?
Due to a fiasco with Drive Genius I was forced to reformat and reinstall 10.3.9. Luckly, I was bright enough to manually copy over the entire contents of the drive to a firewire drive before I started the drive genius project.
I was able to find directions on how to restore my users which worked perfectly.
I've copied all the apps back. But all the apps were in the main drive rather than in users, so the prefs, registrations etc are, I assume, stored in the old library.
Is there a way to replace the new library with the original to avoid several days work digging out the original packaging to get the serial numbers for re-entering so I can get back to work right away?The serial #s, etc were in fact in the original main library. I was able to restore the use of all the programs by manually replacing the missing items in each folder in the library. It took over an hour, but I got it all back and saved me from having to rummage through storage boxes for the original documentation to retrieve and re-enter all the info.

My macbook pro's screen display has suddenly gone into a strange colour setting where everything appears in a kind of infrared colour palette an I can;t seem to change it back. It's the same for all icon and websites, does anyone know how to restore?
Wow! I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside. Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly. It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle. Of course I took no pictures!!! I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress... The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect. After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though. There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top. After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen. I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background. After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle. After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange. But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out. -
My old phone broke and I am having trouble figuring out how to restore my contacts on my "new" phone (LG ENV2 Black). Apparently the phone is so old that I am unable to install Backup Assistant on it, which sucks. I have all my old contacts saved on my computer as a CSV and also another copy on a micro SD as VCF. I have tried moving the CSV from my computer to my ENV2 via both Bluetooth and USB cable, but had no luck with either of those. I also tried to pop the micro SD into the ENV2, and although I can load all my old pictures/videos/etc. from the micro SD, I do not seem to be able to restore the contacts from card. I know there has to be some way to manually transfer these files; the contacts are still on my old phone as well; but I was unable to use the transfer wizard for that because my old phonedoesn't seem to be supported by that (Pantech Jester 2)
Google a program called bitpim, that might do what you want. Never used it but it's been talked about on the forums. Other than that you might have to input them manually. Mary

I just updated to ios7 and do not like the redesign. I want the old design back. Has anyone found out how to restore the old appearance. I do not understand why the change. I now have to unlock my phone to be able to check my battery level because my screensaver has a light color in the upper corner and I can't read the text. I want the gray panel back.

It worked under Windows, now I use OS 10.8 and have to apply a preset with a click or Return button but after that the pop-up menu close so I have to open it once again to change a preset. Please help. Thank you!The filter panel is a shortcut for the content panel and it only effects the content of that window. So if you have a folder it will only see this as a folder and not with its content. (a Stack behaves about the same, being different in only counting the first file in the filter panel criteria but not what is in the stack itself)
You have a view work arounds, first is use menu view / show items from subfolders (this can take some time especially if you have not used caching before on this content) and this builds visible thumbs for all content and that can be used for filtering.
Or use the find command (Edit / find) and inhere specify the source and fill in the criteria include subfolders and this will give you the correct result.
When you create a smart collection the find command also pops up given you the same opportunity to get the results in a collection, but since a collection is only a bunch of aliases referring to the originals you might be a bit careful with editing and deleting. -

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

Take your laptop to somewhere that has wifi so you can restore your phone using iTunes.
Nothing else you can do if you forgot your passcode and don't have internet.
