ok, he is where I am at:
Daughters friend IPOD Touch displays red disabled screen
Unable to enter password.
Did restore and at approx 50% don with restore download, itunes says unable to connect due to it being locked. Enter password.
I have password, but unable to enter password.
Computer being used for restore is different from previous computer used
Ok to wipe device of all data
I am stuck with it because, my daughter said my Dad can do anything.
I am Android/blackberry fellow, so no jokes and I am not use to being locked down like this.
Any way to get out of this circle of need to enter password, to do a full restore?

You can't backup an iPod that is in disabled mode.
