How to restore cellular connection without restarting?

When I am in an elevator, parkade, etc, my phone goes to No Service. Then, when I get back into a service area, it does not automatically restart cellular service. I then have to turn off and then turn back on to get the service restarted.
Anyone know a fix to force the phone to "check" automatically for cell service?

How to restore Ipod database without iTunes?

Hi,
My iPod mini is visible to any aplication except iTunes. I have tried all it sugested on the manuals to fix it and nothing worked.
Others applications like RealPlayer and Anapod can see that the iPod is connect but can´t show its content. RealPlayer says that the database file doesn´t exist or is corrupted.
The only way I can see my files is accessing the iPod-Control directory using windows.
If I disconect it from the Pc I can´t see the musics that are on it.
I have made a copy of the songs that were on it and now I want to know how to restore it without use iTunes, because nothing makes iTunes see it.
Is there any update link that still work on apple website, so I don´t need to use iTunes?
I need to restore my iPod without iTunes because unistall, check register, restarts,... did not work.
The only way I can see the iPod is runing the diadnosis under the help menu. Nothing have worked to make it be showed as device.

I am extemely frustrated. I have an Ipod touch 3rd Generation 32gb. I was promted by Apple to update my latest IOS to 5.1.1. In doing so Apple has locked up my ipod to the point that it will not update and is stuck on the install usb screen. All these sync proceedures appear to have been a waste of time as I can not restore this device either. It is amazing as I have seen many poeple online with the same problem yet, Apple can not even give anyone a proper answer on what to do. I would just like to restore the device without connecting to my PC. I know hold down power and start till logo and then hold 10 seconds. Nothing is happening. I need to take a class on how to run an Ipod touch ?

Even though my WLAN is available, or even if I first connect to it manually and the browser is using it, many widgets/apps insist on using my cellular (Vodafone) connection for data transfer.
I have tried various settings in Menu/Settings/Connectivity/WLAN/Settings.
Here are the latest ones::
Switch to LAN: Known WLANs only
Data Use in home Network: Always Ask
Data use when roaming: Always Ask the
No good......
Change the #2 to WLAN Only instead of Always Ask and it will kill any Cellular Data connection.

Portege R100: Solution how to restore the unit without using a CD-ROM drive

I have just re-stored my Toshiba R100 after nearly 3 years of owning it without a single format due to the complexities of getting a working bootable CD-ROM drive.
This won't help those of you who have a non booting laptop but if yours is booting I used the following method to re-store my laptop with zero problems.
1. Put the restore CDs into another computer and extract the Ghost image files "01131000.GHO" and "01131000.CRC" from disk 1 and "01131001.GHS" from disk 2.
2. If your laptop has a second partition then transfer these files to a directory on your non windows partition. If not you will have to use partition magic to create one.
3. Create a Norton Ghost boot disk from a retail version of Norton ghost and a Windows 98 Boot disk.
4. Boot the Laptop from the Windows 98 Floppy disk, then swap disks and run Ghost.
5. Select Local>Local Disk>From Image
And select the 01131000.GHO file.
6. Select the only image offered to you, then select the R100?s drive, and finally select the main boot partition.
7. Hit go!
8. Re-boot and follow the windows configuration and you're done.

Airport fails to connect without restarting of router

I changed the wireless security on my router from WEP Open to WEP2 Personal. Now, my macbook can't obtain IP (DHCP) from the router until router is restarted. It happens every time the macbook is closed.
I have several other devices, connecting to the same router, and none of them have any problems to reconnect. This excuses the router from any fault.
Any suggestions?

Just an FYI for you.
It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.

How to restore UPnP connectivity under my new TC settings?

It appears that UPnP failed after I installed a new 2Tb AEBS/TC. The older TC it replaced is connected to the AirPort network via Ethernet in bridge mode.
Although everything is hooked by via Ethernet, the servers and the clients (PS3, Oppo, etc.) no longer see each other. All permissions, so far I can tell, are on.
I do not see a port mapping setting in the AirPort ulity for generic UPnP as such.

An Update:
With accurate, albeit disappointing, information from Tessarax in hand, I experimented by changing the setting in the older, remotely located, Ethernet-connected TC from bridge mode to the one that enables a range of IP addresses.
Bear in mind, the reason for programming the bridge mode to begin with: A desire to generate an acceptable AirPort wireless signal in my (distant) Family/Media Room for an iPhone and iPad, where one heretofore had not existed. Extending the network, the first option that I installed, made nearly no difference; the bridge mode by contrast resulted in a spectacular iimprovement in the wireless signal.
Interestingly, changing the setting once more on the TC to display a range of IP addresses preserved the strong signal while restoring some of the UPnP connectivity that had been lost. (Twonky now works, TVersity still does not.)
Go figure.
