How to restore certain files on an iPad?

I wish to restore, on my iPad, some Tunein files from a iTunes backup, that got lost because of a failed "upgrade" for Tunein (recordings). Is this possible, & if so, could someone please direct me to information as to how?

You can't selectively restore files from a backup. The backup file can only be used to restore the iPad.

I want to test my backup by restoring the full backup of my production database on a separate test server.
I have taken following action for restore to test server:

Don't try to restore the file; restore the Note. Go in Mail to the mailbox where the note belongs. Enter Time Machine from there and step back until you find the Note.

i created back up through SBO Backup (SAP Business One Service Manager )
i got the Back up files and all Attachments folders.
But i want to restore this (.bu) and .zip files into existing company database
while creating time i got these files:
one backup file - extension is .bu

Just as the title sated, how to play sef files on the iPad, since the iPad lack of flash support, and I don't find any program to handle with the swf files to playing on my iPad

Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are out of luck if you want to play on-line (unless something like the iSwiffter app work with it), but again some of them have app versions in the store.

If it backed up the lock file, then Lightroom was open when Time Machine ran, and the backup therefore may be corrupted. You could try restoring that backup (without overwriting your week ago version) and see if it'll open. If it does, you're off and running. What methods have you tried?

To copy photos and videos in the Photos app that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you can use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. If that is what you also want to delete from the iPad then you can either do it as part of the import process, or you can delete them directly in the Photos app, either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6) in thumbnail view. If they were originally synced from a computer then they can only be deleted by de-selecting them on Photos tab and re-syncing, they can't be deleted directly on the iPad.
If they are in other apps then it will depend upon what apps that they are in, different apps have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer - either via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc. iTunes purchases can be copied back to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iOS 6).

Where did you download it from?
It sounds like you wish to downgrade iOS. If that is true, I am sorry to tell you but that is not possible. Apple has never approved a method to downgrade iOS.

You can't selectively restore from a back up, you need to restore everything or nothing.

Hi I just downloaded an .exe file on my ipad and I don't know how to delete or where to view them. I did this as a test to see if safari can download files or not but now I can't find it to delete it. I'm sure its still somewhere in my Ipad because I checked before I download the file I have 5gb left after I only have 4.5gb left. An exe file is a Windows program, so you can't view it and it does no good on an Apple product. It may be stored in the "Other" portion of the device. If you do a backup of the device to itunes or icloud, then restore, the "Other" area will be cleaned up. Be sure to sync all photos to a computer first, as these may be lost in the process.
(To be honest, I'd be surprised that the exe file was retained on the device after download. I'm even surprised you were able to download it.)

I recently had to reset my iPad after an ios7 problem with hyperlinks. The reset fixed the hyperlink problem but now I can't open excel or word files created in a purchased application, productivity suite. When I click on the file, it starts to open then switches back to the app icon. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app and now all the files are gone from my iPad. I backed up my iPad to my desktop before deleting the app but can't figure out how to restore just the files I need.

You should be able to mount the partition once you've loaded up the live CD. Just figure out which one it is by using
fdisk -l
then mount it to /mnt or wherever you want it.
As for moving/saving them, I'm not entirely sure how to get them onto an external server. You might have to mount another partition in order to install any apps that you need to connect to an external server, but wait for someone who really knows to answer before you try it. If you're only talking about 4 or 5 MB, I would just mount a USB stick and dump them on there.
