How to restore Firefox 35,0?

When I´m trying to open any tab, I allways get a message: "Failure uploading tab". I even cannot open "Settings Tab". This started after updating Firefox to version 36,0. What should I do?

The only place I know of that uploads tabs is in Sync. Are you using Firefox sync?

My firefox crashed. After that I by mistake closed session restore tab and continue browsing. But know I would like to restore previous session (date 9th October). Is it possible to just restore firefox to a certain date?

No. Firefox only keeps a copy of the current session and copies the session data from the previous session (sessionstore.js) when Firefox starts to a sessionstore.bak file to make it possible to restore the previous session via History > Restore Previous Session.

I had 187 Firefox windows open when Firefox crashed. I had restore on. When the window that asks which windows I want to restore appeared, I deselected a few pages that I thought might be causing problems. I've never done this before (choose not restore all the windows that were open) and Firefox has always managed to restore all my windows. But having chosen 3 out of 187 not to open, Firefox only opened 30. The rest seem to be lost. In principle I should be able to find them in my history, but I visit hundreds of pages per day and only keep open a couple until the next day. My open Firefox windows to some extent constitute my to-do list, and some have been open for months. Stupidly, I had not backed up this to-do list (with for example screen captures) and I would really like to get it back. I am not afraid of a little hacking. Is there anything I can do?
[And by the way, this is not really related to the above problem: after a while it often becomes impossible to actually open some of the Firefox windows that I have open. I probably average around 80, but range from 15 or so 150 usually. [I try to close them as I work through them with some success, so that the numbers don't just keep on increasing.] But this is not so much a problem because when click on Firefox in the task bar, I still get to see the titles of the webpages I am on and I can easily relocate them if I can't open a particular page. Yes, I do realise that the real solution to my problems would be to have less windows open, but that ill suits the way I work.]

How to restore Firefox custom search bar

I'm using Firefox 37.0.1 and for some reason my custom search bar is gone. It was there last time I was online and I don't think I did anything to remove it. I used to be able to change the search engine over to Youtube, Wikipedia, Amazon and what have you but now it only searches Google. I checked this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-search-bar-firefox-and-manage-search-engines#w_hide-search-engines
but it didn't help. Does anyone know how to get it back? I think I need to do something with the about:config page but I don't want to mess with that without asking someone who knows what they're doing first (read: not me XD). I've added a screenshot of what my search bar looks like now.

Try the following and see if it works:
Click on the menu icon (three bars) in the top-right corner, and choose "customize". You should see the search bar somewhere in the window, and can drag it back to next to what is shown in the picture. Have you looked for updates to this extension at addons.mozilla.org or homepage yet as it appears to have had a 1.4 version update on June 28 by the extension author at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/similarweb-sites-recommendatio/
You really should look at addons.mozilla.org or homepage or check for extension updates in Tools->Addons manager before concluding the best option is to downgrade Firefox as the version of extension you have may be old.

Within the last several days, I have received on Firefox a Norton Alert as to higher memory usage, a stop error blue screen message concerning drivers and possibly unrecoverable hardware damage and another Alert this time concerning CPU usage. I decided to try"Driver Tool from SafeCart., but when they wanted to charge me plus taek my personal info I did not run the program. Finally, I hit upon the idea of solving the problem by eliminating currently operating files from Windows TAsk Manager. I deleted only one the one at the top, the most recent: " plugcontainer.exe. " That was enough. Needless to say, the action didn't restore my sound; it only crashed the firefox. I'm on IE now. I can't do Firefox. Whenever I try I get crashreport. I belive I have the latest or near the lastest version. Any help especially in selecting what is more likely to be relevant and what isn't from anyone will be greatly appreciated,

download chrome because it has "import data from another browser" , ie9 it has not.
after downloading and install heat the FRENCH KEY then OPTIONS then in Preference go to PERSONAL STUFF then BROWSING DATA and IMPORT DATA FROM ANOTHER BROWSER then import FAVORITE-BOOKMARKS from FIREFOX. If all is ok you have it in chrome that mean you don't lost it. BUT i don't now how to import FIREFOX with this after re-install it.

You will find that bookmarking a page (clicking the star next to the address, or going into ''Bookmarks > Bookmark this page'' is precisely what you need to remember pages. It is a very widespread function in web browsers, and it is very ''very'' helpful in many situations, including remembering the location of pages you want to see later, providing easy access to pages you use frequently and other stuff too.

However, I do urge you, once again, to update, because older versions (including 3.0) are no longer maintained and have known security vulnerabilities. How to reset firefox profile if it crashes on start (also safe mode)

I need to know how to make Firefox do a profile reset when it crashes on start even in safe mode. It starts fine with a new profile.
I had this before today, and then after the 3rd crash report send, a popup offered me a solution to reset my profile while retaining the most important settings. I tried that option and it worked. But I could no longer sync my password with the new sync because of a master password set. I find this a show stopper, so I did a profile restore (mozbackup), I wish I didn't have.
I now have the same problem again with Firefox crashing, but it no longer offers the popup with a solution by trying safe mode (i did manually doesn't work) or resettting the profile.
I need to know a command line switch the make Firefox reset the profile while retaining the important data or how to force it show the pop-up.

Note that a profile created via a reset still can carry over issues because some data is recovered automatically.
If you use the Profile Manager then you get a completely clean profile and if that works then you can copy files yourself to the new profile or possibly try to identify what is wrong and repair your previous profile.
You only see button to Reset Firefox on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page and in the Safe Mode startup window if you use the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file (Profile Manager).
If you do not have the "Reset" button then either use the Profile Manager to create a new profile or use the Profile Manager to start with the current default profile to get the Reset button in Firefox.

HOW TO RESTORE THE DIRECT TRANSFER OF SONGS TO MY MUSIC FOLDER

Desktop with Windows XP, Professional Version and Service Pack 3. Since March 2, 2015, the browser is Firefox with Google.
Prior to that I used Firefox Portable Edition. Our public library offers a music download service from a company named Freegal.
The process is to click on download on an individual song which produces a popup which I click on Save. This produces a second popup which allows me to transfer the song to a selected folder in MY Music. This routine worked quite well with Firefox Portable Edition. However, after I recently installed Firefox, the second popup which would be used to transfer the song to My Music does not appear and this is the end of the routine with Freegal. Firefox sends the downloaded song to two locations in my computer which are D: My Documents\Downloads and to C: Documents and Settings\Administration\Recent. I have two hard drives in use on this computer because of its limited memory. I then copy and paste the song from D: Documents \ Downloads to the selected folder in My Music.
The library has no recent reported problems with Freegal. I am assuming that the recent download of Firefox is its latest edition and I must say that it is a very fast browser. It is more convenient to transfer the song to My Music as was intended by Freegal than the route that I have to use as described above.
I would appreciate any comments on why this is happening given that Firefox Portable Edition did not have this problem.
Any suggestions on how to restore this function in Freegal would also be appreciated.

You should have an option to select where downloads go.
