How to restore from icloud to iphone

I back up to the iCloud daily from my iPhone 3GS. I need to get my Notes restored because I deleted one of my important notes by accident. How is this done?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can restore from iTunes using the restore as new phone option or from the device from settings > general > reset > Erase All......
Once you have restored and enter the set up assistant take the restore from iCloud back up option.

I understand you recently sold your iPhone and on your existing iPhone 4 you are seeing data that isn't yours. If you did not erase the iPhone before selling it, the resource below will provide some steps for erasing the content remotely and removing the device from your account. I would also suggest changing your Apple ID password.

Margie, if you go to www.icloud.com, do you see all of your contacts there? If not, you should be able to restore your phone from your most recent iCloud backup.

Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process. If you have any data on your iPod now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

Can't restore from iCloud with iPhone (iOS 6.0.1) if backup was made using iOS 6.1

I lost my iPhone, got a new one then I was grateful a was using iCloud but...
iOS 6.0.1 won't allow me to restore my last backup because it was made using ios 6.1.
There is not way to select this backup. Luckily for me, there is still a old backup made using iOS 6.0.1.
So I reconfigured the iPhone as a new phone, updated the software to 6.1.

Unfortunately, in order to restore a backup from the cloud, I had to reset the phone. So It went back to iOS 6.0.1
Is there a different way to retrieve a backup from iCloud?

If you plug it into a computer to install the update and then the backup, it should work. (At least, it did with my 4th Gen iTouch).

I called support to ask if there was a way to put my "adult apps/PG-17+ apps into a folder with a passcode so that I could let my 12 year old grandson play on my IPad with out worry. I was told you can not put your apps in a folder and assign a passcode however you can go in to restrictions/app and check the box 9+ and that would restrict him to use only apps for that age group. As we spoke I followed along taking the steps directed by the technician on my iPhone and WoW it seem to work. Later on I turned on my iPhone and I nearly hit the floor....all my apps were no longer in their assigned folders....they were now scattered over all the pages...all of my hours and hours of creating folders, sorting, dragging apps accross pages and pages...all of that time consuming hard work gone! I told him that i thought it was maybe a new 5.1.1 update glitch but he said he had not yet done the update. Huh? I was then told that all I needed to do was delete my iCloud and then when I turned it back on...i would then be able to restore from my iCloud backup and all would come back ....yea...I followed the directions...deleted the iCloud and then turned it back on...It came back on but no option to restore. Well it is now 3:13 am and I have another call in for tec support.....in the meantime ...any advise would be greatly appreciated.

i need to recover only a subset of the iCoud back up; infact I removed Whatsapp and then reinstalled; I have lost all my message history. It is still in the iCoud back up, since the storage detail shows me 26MB usage from whatsapp.

Read another post in the forum about this and it appears this app also installs a profile with a proxy service that you will have to try and delete as well. Check that out.

Try restoring the backup again. Your apps and other purchased media should have been restored from your backup if they were on your old phone when you backed it up.

I understand that you are wanting to restore your new iPhone 6 from an iPhone 5 backup. This sounds like the iOS version of your old iPhone 5 may be newer than what was installed on your iPhone 6. Try going through the steps in the article below.

I would also check to see the backup dates in iTunes and if the backup is located on iCloud instead of iTunes.

How long should Restore from iCloud take on iPhone 6?

I have just purchased a new iPhone 6 and after downloading whatsapp, the restore from iCloud function is currently active for 32060 messages and 3421 photos, but has been for the last 12 hours and is now frozen on 91%.
I am not sure how to access my whatsapp now as I cannot seem to exit the restore from iCloud function but it will not proceed forward with the restore.
Is there any way for me to resolve this?

The restore process is taking a long time to finish
The amount of time needed by the restore process depends on your geographical location and the speed of your Internet connection. Even with a fast Internet connection, the restore process might take 1 to 4 hours per gigabyte to complete.
If you're traveling between countries, the restore process might take longer than usual. iCloud is tuned to provide the best service when you're in the geographical location from which you most frequently connect to the Internet. When restoring from an iCloud backup, iCloud is tuned to provide the best service in the geographical region you were in when you created the backup.
