After a crash of the HDD, the MBP needs to be reformatted. I've managed to transfer all the files to another mac (using 'T' while booting the MacBook Pro). Because I want to keep al my e-mails, I need to reach the hidden library. But in the transferred files, I can't find this hidden library. How can I get it to show up, so I can copy the Thunderbird file which contains all of the e-mails?

At least i'd like to try to reinstall OSX to the same HDD. It seems to be a software problem that occured after a check-up with DiscHelp (idk the specific term in english because I use the dutch version). While 'repairing' an error, a notification came up that said that it couldn't be repaired and that I had to back-up all of my files and reformat the HDD. Since then, if i try to boot up the system, the screen goes black in about 30 seconds.
The only backup I have is the direct copy I made booting up the MBP while pressing 'T' (while connected to another mac using a thunderbolt cable). So now I have a copy of the whole HDD. I tried to find the hidden ~library but i couldn't find it. In this library there are certain files i need to transfer the profile of my email. So yeah it's still readable, but as an external HDD, unfortunately not as a computer.
I really hope you can help me!

I want to test my backup by restoring the full backup of my production database on a separate test server.
I have taken following action for restore to test server:
•     Copy full backup to Test Server on same folder where it was in Production Server.
•     Copy parameter file to Test Server. (Edit control file location on it)
•     Connect Rman
•     Set DB with new DBID
•     Startup Nomount (from new parameter file)

The only way is to restore from a useful backup, if you have one.
If you sync the iPad to iTunes and use Time Machine regularly, you would likely have the appropriate backup to restore from. In that case:
Restore the iPad backup set from Time Machine from a date before you overwrote the bookmarks. The location of the backup is ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ (you can get to it by pressing Cmd+Shift+G in the Finder and entering this path).
Connect the iPad, run iTunes and restore from the backup.
If you use iCloud Backup, then you can restore from iCloud and choose which date's backup you'd like to restore from. You can check if you're using iCloud Backup by opening the Settings app on the iPad, then going to the iCloud submenu and looking at the status right below "Storage & Backup", where it would say "iCloud Backup is off." Restore custom Illustrator actions after crash?

Hi. I just spent two days automating a large project with Illustrator CS6 actions. I suppose I should have expected Illustrator to crash at some point during this process but I didn't and, of course, it did. Upon starting Illustrator back up after the crash, I found that all dozen or so of my complex actions were gone.
I did a bit of googling and it seems that AI doesn't save these to disk anywhere; rather it just keeps them in memory until they're explicitly saved. That is, creating an action doesn't seem to actually store it anywhere. Is this correct? Anyone have any tips for recovering my work from this or am I SOL?

Until you tell AI to save the action, it's not physically saved anywhere.
That is rather a misleading statement, although it might be appropriate in this specific context (crash).
Unsaved Action sets have always been stored inside (one of) the AIPrefs files after quitting Illustrator. Otherwise they couldn't be available when relaunching the programme.
But as we are talking about a crash, that indeed may be bad luck.

Gosh. I found that I need to open the properties page for a pdf file; go to the security tab and click the advance button. Then click 'change' to the right of the owner line, and add me as a user, and then give myself full permissions.
OK, NOW, how can I do this globally at one time to affect all of my pdf files?
