How to restore IPAD to give to someone

Going to give my GF my IPAD2.  Want to restore it fully to factory settings so that she can use it and connect to her ITUNES on her own personal computer.  How can I do that?

  • TS3694 How to restore ipad on dfu mode error 9?

    Hi guys
    Need help how to restore IPAd in dfu mode error 9?

    Hi guys
    Need help how to restore IPAd in dfu mode error 9?

  • After a backup, clicked on upgrade IOS via Itunes.  Upgrade failed and now IPAD is locked, showing a graphic of a cable connector, an arrow and an Itunes symbol.  Ipad is locked there.  How to restore IPAD?

    Upgrade my IPAD from 8.1.3 to 8.2 via Itunes (from Windows Computer)
    First I backed up the IPAD via Itunes on my Windows laptop.
    Then I click upgrade IOS to 8.2 on Itunes.
    Later got a upgrade failure pop up window.
    Now IPAD is locked with a blank screen showing a cable connector and an arrow pointing to Itunes symbol.
    The IPAD does not boot, and the Itunes does not recognize the IPAD.
    turning on/off the IPAD does not change the display.
    How to restore or reboot the IPAD?

    I rebooted the computer and tried once again using a different USP port.  This did the trick!.  I was able to run the IOS update and it stuck and timed out while the Itunes was indicating that it was verifying the IOS installation (on ipad I could see a grayed working bar).  After it timed out the IPAD completed the task, and now it is working again.
    Thanks!

    The photo i need it back urgently.
    What can i do and can it restore back
    Thanks!
    Delon.

    This article will explain how to restore your iPad. You will want to restore from a backup in order to get your data back. If the photos were in your Camera Roll or Saved Album, those photos will be restored as well. Read this for more information on restoring.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
    If the photos were synced to the iPad from iTunes, just try syncing again to retrieve them.
    Don't fool around with the MobileSync folder on the hard drive. There really is no need to do anything with that folder at this point.

  • Newbie -- how to save presentation to give to someone else??

    New Mac and KN user. Am very familiar with the "other" presentation software and how simple it was to give someone else a copy of the slides -- you give them a single file.
    Thinking the same applied here, I saved the KN presentation to a USB drive but when I looked there was a whole bunch of odd things there. Is this normal or is it because the drive is formatted with FAT 32?
    I need to be able to give someone a "copy" of the presentation so it can be loaded onto a web site for download. I've looked all through the menus and the only option is to print to PDF which is NOT what I want to do.
    HELP Mr. Wizard!!

    The KN file is a "Package" (a special folder in other terms) that is why it looks different on your USB drive. If you want to be safe, archive (zip) the file first before copying. On your Mac, control-select the file then select "Show Package Contents" to view the file like it is seen on the USB drive.

  • How to restore ipad 2

    After restoring my ipad 2 nothing changes. Please help how can I restore it completely erasing aple i.d?

    Where exactly do you want to erase your id from ? You can log out of the store by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store.
    If you want to log out of the cloud then Settings > iCloud > Sign Out - if you have Find My iPad enabled then you will have to type in the iCloud account's password to log out.
    If you've reset it back to factory defaults and had Find My iPad enabled then you will also have to type in the iCloud account's password in order to re-activate the iPad, that is activation lock and can't be bypassed.

    How can ia restore the iPad 2 3G, my camera doesnt work, and it start to malfunction when i upgrade to iOS7...

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • How to restore ipad without password

    hi
    I forgot my ipad password. If I try to restore then it is asking for password. How do I restore my ipad to original settings ?
    Thanks
    Sandeep

    You need to put the iPad into recovery mode, if you succesfully do that then your computer's iTunes won't prompt you to enter the passcode on the iPad : Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

  • How to restore ipad in recovery mode

    I am trying to restore an iPad Gen 3 on IOS 6 using recovery mode but iTunes cannot find the backup file on my PC while the iPad is in recovery mode.
    However, on my PC, iTunes shows that a backup exists when I say that I need to do a restore. The restore can't work due to the passcode being in place and not remembered. The iPad needs to be restored becausee the person forgot their passcode.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
  • How to Restore iPad Backup
    I'm having to repost this because it appears my previous post mysteriously vanished (there was quite a bit of anger in it).
    Having serious problems with my MacBook Air has forced me to switch to my MacMini as my primary computer. I connected my iPad and was then prompted weather I wanted to transfer apps or not transfer them. Obviously I chose transfer, but apparently iTunes decided to delete a handful of applications without prompting me before doing so (all but 4 apps chose to sync, which makes little sense). One of those apps included a notepad containing items that are fairly essential (without which may literally cost me my job).
    Since I don't want to loose my job on the account of iTunes randomly choosing to remove data for no reason, does anybody know how I can go about restoring the backup it should have made prior to choosing to randomly delete apps?
    This can't really be right. I've got a few hundred apps, when I plugged it into my MacMini it asked if I wanted to transfer and I clicked yes.
    ALL my apps (a couple hundred) except for 4 transfered to the MacMini. I'm certain that a large percentage of those that did transfer were purchased on my MacBook Air, then installed via sync on my iPad. Again, all but 4 of my apps transfered with no problems. I found an existing thread that seems to indicate the same thing is happening to others...
    My question regarding backup is the backup that occurs whenever you connect your iDevice. It performs a backup sync before it does everything else. I had to wait forever for it to complete this phase once I connected it to my Mac Mini (since it had to do a full backup as opposed to a partial). My hope is that this backup include backup of app data... Of course I also am now afraid to re-connect my iPad as I'm worried if I do it will overwrite this existing backup... But I'm also afraid to do a restore as it appears to say it will reset the iPad to factory basics, leaving me wondering how the backup that is created is supposed to work...
