Do you have any iCloud or iTunes backups?
If not, then, at this stage, you may have already lost everything.

  • HELP!  Who knows how to restore iPhone without losing information?

I don't want to reset my phone back to the factory settings. Is there anyone who has info on how to do this?

What exactly are you trying to do or accomplish? When you restore, it will erase everything. There is no getting around that. If you back the unit up first in iTunes, you can do a restore, and then select your backup when prompt, and it should restore all your apps and settings back to normal.

how to restore iphon-without backup, after it synchronization from ipod

    Thanks Eric,
After inserting the original DVD I installed OSX and after reboot I had a working computer.
There was no opportunity to restore the TM backup. however when I rebooted from the
DVD again I saw that possibility from a menu of the install utility.
I ran through the restore over night (8 hours) and when I woke up, I had my computer back!
    Thanks for helping me out.
    Cheers, Rob

  • How to sync IPhone without losing data?

I have not gotten a new computer.
I haven't used iTunes for the computer in a long time. Probably about a year or two. On iTunes on my pc, I have 99 songs. On my iphone, I have 237. Once before, I tried to sync my itunes and iphone but it erased my songs and filled my entire playlist with a bunch of songs nobody has ever heard of. I was stuck with a bunch of songs I never wanted, and lost my old ones. I had taken my phone to the apple store where they fixed it, and I haven't used itunes since. I have obviously purchased alot of songs since then and I want to update my itunes library so they are all in there because I am supposed to be getting a new phone soon. But I'm afraid that I will end up losing some sort of data in the process, and I do not use the icloud or anything since I find it rather confusing. I don't want to lose hundreds of dollars in music because of a computer program.
I also have CD's that I've downloaded to my computer and want to put into my itunes library then upload the new music to my phone, but yet I am still scared to do anything with the chance I may lose my songs. I feel if I try to sync, my iphone will take the 99 songs from my pc and then the other 138 songs will be long lost.
How do I sync without losing any content?

If there is media content on the device that isn't in your library see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • TS1702 Restore iPhone without losing apps

Is there not a way to restore iPhone OS6 without having to start over installing apps??

Maybe, but you'd have to try it.
Connect your iPhone to your computer running iTunes via USB cable.  On the info page, you'll see the "Update" and the "Restore" button.  Don't use Restore; that will refresh everything and force you to reinstall apps.  Instead, hold down the Option button and hit "Update."  That should pop-up a box that allows you to choose the version you want to update to.  Select the iOS 6 installation package and go.  It may work.  I've used that technique when Update wasn't recognizing a newer version that was available and it worked fine, but I don't know if it will work when the two versions are the same.  Good luck!

  • How to restore iphone without installing ios 8

    hi,
my sister wasnt using her iphone for a month (i dont know why), yesterday she charged it and guess what? it has been locked for 44 years (it says try after 23.480.302 minutes later), i tried to restore the iphone but it will install ios 8, i dont want to install it because iphone 4s has 8gb storage and available space is 5.98gb but ios 8 needs 5.5 gb to be installed that is why i dont want to install ios 8.
how can i restore iphone 4s to ios 7.1.2 ?
    help me please.
    thanks in advance.

I'm actually having the exact same problem. I switched from 4s to 6, and I bought all new ringtones. Then the update happened, and I had to use the link to restore my ringtones. Now, I lost my favorite ringtone for some reason, and I can't restore it. It's in my library, but not on my phone. And I have to buy it again, apparently.I just don't want to buy it again, only to lose it again, you know?

  • I deleted my private folder how do I restore it without losing everything?

I restored my system through time capsule and everything was fine. I was browsing my hard drive labeled "Macintosh HD" a short time ago and noticed a folder called "private".
This is a folder I have never seen before, and foolishly I just deleted it. It is still sitting in my recycle bin, but when I click "put back" or try and copy and paste it back into its original spot it prompts for my administrator password. For some reason it is not accepting my administrator password, I don't know why it isn't, but it isn't.
I have since read that it is very bad to delete the "private" folder however I really can't afford right now to reinstall another time capsule backup and lose more downtime.
How can I replace my private folder? I have a Snow Leopard install disk on hand, and the computer is still running. If I restart my computer without fixing anything it's going to probably not start up because I trashed this important folder. Is there a way I can re-copy this folder from my Snow Leopard install disk or from my time capsule backup?
And for some reason now Terminal is not working, it must be, because the private folder has been deleted..
    NEED HELP!

yes, it's very bad to touch this folder and the reason your admin password is not working is because this folder contains some important files governing how an admin password can be used. you can put it back by booting from the SL install DVD and doing it from there using terminal.
insert the install DVd, reboot and hold "c" at the chime. this will boot you into SL installer. once there start terminal from Utilities menu and enter the following command
    cp -rf /Volumes/"drive name"/Users/username/.Trash/private /Volumes/"drive name"
put the name of your main hard drive in two places in that command. KEEP the quotes. also put the short name of your user instead of username in the command. It's VERY important to enter the command correctly. mind the spaces in the command.
to verify that the command worked run
    ls -la /Volumes/"drive name"/private
after it's done. it should list the contents of the copied folder.

  • How to restore iphone without updating software

how do i get my iphone 3 to restore without updating to ios 4.1.2 i have tried unchecking "check for software updates automatically" but it still won't just restore what else should i try?

You can't.  Part of the restore process involves updating the iOS.
The only reason why you wouldn't want to update your iOS is because your phone is jailbroken.  Jailbroken phones cannot be discussed on this forum.

  • Restore iPod without losing everything?

"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes".
    iPod: 2GB Nano 1st generation.
I would like to be able to back up everything that's on this iPod before restoring it. So far, I have found no answer to this. It seems impossible to get into the actual iPod files (either on a mac or a windows PC).
If anybody has a suggestion or could let me know whether this is actually possible, then that would be very helpful!
    Cheers.

Use a program like Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
Once you've done that, restore the iPod. Now you see why it's such a bad idea to store the only copy of music/videos/games etc on the iPod only.

  • My ipod is completely locked out. My passcode has a t in it, but for some reason it won't let me press t. Can someone tell me how to reset it without losing everything? Or is there another way..

Please can someone help me fix this? Has anyone else had this problem?

First try a Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

  • IPhone that was stolen was returned but disabled for a long time! My computer is broken so I can't back it up or restore it. What can I do without losing everything on it!

So my iPhone that was stolen is disabled for 22,237,796 minutes and counting down. My computer with all my backup information is down so I can't restore it without losing everything on it. I really don't want to lose everything on my phone and I really don't want to wait that long. Is there anything I can do? Please help! ;(

    The only options are:
    Wait it out.
Sync the device to the computer it normally syncs with to remove the passcode.
Restore from backup or as new.
Without access to the computer it normally syncs with, your only real option is restore as new.
Keep in mind, pictures can be copied off the device on any computer regardless of the device being locked or not.

  • Someone disabled my iPod, I know my passcode but it says I have to connect to iTunes. The computer that has all my data backed up on it is not currently working. Is there a way to restore without losing everything?

My iPod 5 has been disabled and I am wondering if I can restore it without losing everything.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
