When I opened iweb it opened as a file I deleated. I have a published website with godaddy and would like to update. How can I open the existing iWeb app to the site that is already published?  Is there a way to restore a published iWeb site? • How to restore iWeb using TM?

    Hello,
I've done some changes in iWeb that I didn't mean to and I tried to restore iWeb, back to the way it was before I made the changes but it doesnt work.
I clicked on the app itself (and only the app) and clicked restore but it didn't do anything.
It said restoring and it was loading and everything but then when I opened the app the changes were still there. The app did not restore.
How can I restore iWeb back to the way it was a week ago using TM if just trying to restore the app itself doesnt work?

The iWeb application doesn't contain your site data. That file is:
    home/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2
That's the file you'll need to restore. This applies to pretty much every application I can think of - the program itself never contains your data, which is held somewhere else (eg iTunes and iPhoto Libraries are held separately from the program).

  • How to Restore iWeb Contents From iDisk?

After a format of my MBP I need to find out how to get the contents of my iWeb site back onto my Mac. Which directory does it belong to on my Mac for iWeb to recognize everything properly?

    So basically I'm screwed, right?
Unless you have a backup of your Home folder, otherwise yes
I can't copy the files from my iDisk to my Mac and have iWeb recognize them?
    No.
So when I start from scratch, will iWeb erase my current site from my iDisk?
If you give your new site a different name to the old one then NO, if you use a different name you will end up with two sites.

  • How to Restore iWeb website using Time Machine

I used Time Machine to back up everything on my hard drive.
I went to the Apple Store, with a question about iWeb.
The guy moved a bunch of stuff around, and "tried" a bunch of stuff.
When he exited out of iWeb, he automatically clicked SAVE.
I want what it looked like Before he touched it.
With every other application, you just need to open the app, then click Time Machine, and it will search for the Backed Up Versions.
Time Machine does not do this with iWeb!
When I search for an "iWeb" folder, I CAN NOT.
I can only search for FILES with the word iWeb. Why?
I know there is a folder called iWeb under Library/App Support/
    but that is the Domain.
How do I get my old files back?
    -B

You were on the right track.
The domain-file in Library/Application Support/iWeb is the file you need to put back with Time Machine.

  • How to restore an unpublished version of my site to iweb using time machine

I can't find earlier versions of my unpublished site on time machine. If I try to restore iweb, it wants to restore the application, not the data.

what you need to restore is username/library/application support/iweb/domain.
That is the actual site file.

  • Restoring iWeb from time machine backup manually

    hi there
my Macbook recently crashed and I restored my Time Machine backup, however this seems to have caused futher issues.  The apple Genius has formatted my laptop and suggested that I re-install everything manually.
How do I go about restoring iWeb as I can't seem to find any reference to my websites whilst looking manually through the TC backups.
    any help would be appreciated
    JP

thanks for your reply unfortunately I can use TM until I resolve the issue of whether I reuse the question I get prompted when loading TM
"You haven't selected a location for the TM backups
Set up a new disk or use a previous disk"
I am thinking possibly just use previous, but not found anywhere that helps with that?
back to my issue I still can't see the folder you mention.... sorry to be special not sure where to look
    Folder path
System( name of machine) - Date for TM - Macintosh HD - Library - Application Support = no iWeb folder, plenty of others for iLife and iDVD
I can send screen shots if required?
    thanks for your help

What you need to restore is usually ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/.

  • How to restore old prefs, etc after clean reinstall of 10.3.9?

Due to a fiasco with Drive Genius I was forced to reformat and reinstall 10.3.9. Luckly, I was bright enough to manually copy over the entire contents of the drive to a firewire drive before I started the drive genius project.
I was able to find directions on how to restore my users which worked perfectly.
I've copied all the apps back. But all the apps were in the main drive rather than in users, so the prefs, registrations etc are, I assume, stored in the old library.
Is there a way to replace the new library with the original to avoid several days work digging out the original packaging to get the serial numbers for re-entering so I can get back to work right away?

The serial #s, etc were in fact in the original main library. I was able to restore the use of all the programs by manually replacing the missing items in each folder in the library. It took over an hour, but I got it all back and saved me from having to rummage through storage boxes for the original documentation to retrieve and re-enter all the info.

Wow!  I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside.  Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly.  It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle.  Of course I took no pictures!!!  I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress...  The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect.  After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though.  There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top.  After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen.  I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background.  After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle.  After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange.  But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out.

  • My old phone broke and I am having trouble figuring out how to restore my contacts on my "new" phone (LG ENV2 Black)...

My old phone broke and I am having trouble figuring out how to restore my contacts on my "new" phone (LG ENV2 Black).  Apparently the phone is so old that I am unable to install Backup Assistant on it, which sucks.  I have all my old contacts saved on my computer as a CSV and also another copy on a micro SD as VCF.  I have tried moving the CSV from my computer to my ENV2 via both Bluetooth and USB cable, but had no luck with either of those.  I also tried to pop the micro SD into the ENV2, and although I can load all my old pictures/videos/etc. from the micro SD, I do not seem to be able to restore the contacts from card.  I know there has to be some way to manually transfer these files; the contacts are still on my old phone as well; but I was unable to use the transfer wizard for that because my old phonedoesn't seem to be supported by that (Pantech Jester 2)

Google a program called bitpim, that might do what you want.  Never used it but it's been talked about on the forums.  Other than that you might have to input them manually.  Mary

  • Any ideas about how to restore old appearance on my iPhone?  I just updated to IOS7 and really dislike the new appearance. I have to log on to see percentage of power used since I can't see it on my opening screen. I also want the gray folders back.

I just updated to ios7 and do not like the redesign. I want the old design back. Has anyone found out how to restore the old appearance. I do not understand why the change. I now have to unlock my phone to be able to check my battery level because my screensaver has a light color in the upper corner and I can't read the text. I want the gray panel back.
