How to restore messages written/received by an old account

I have a user which created a new Account in Mail Preferences, and then removed the old one. Guess what, Mail decided to destroy the associated POP folder in user/Library/Mail/, and all messages in Inbox and Sent mailboxes belonging to this old email disappeard :-/ Not exactly what she wanted....
So we restored the POP folder with TimeMachine. We would like now to import all this old messages in Mail, for example into a new folder in "On my Mac", called "Old Account". Should be easy, right?
But the import procedure doesn't work, and cannot understand why. I selected in Mail the menu File > Import Mailboxes... > "Files in mbox format" and I selected for example the folder with name "Sent Messages.mbox" (including about 500 messages) in the restored POP folder, but the procedure stopped with an error message like "not a mbox format". Hey Mail, you created this folder and now you cannot import it? How to proceed? Thank you.

NOTE: you can skip this 1st step.
Step 1
I'm on Win7 so the paths might be slightly different... C:\Users\(YOUR PC ACCOUNT)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bnelgkol.default\bookmarkbackups ... Find the "bookmarks-[DATE].json" you want and copy it to the profile you want. You may want to change the date to a name you will recognize.
Step 2
Then on your browser "Bookmarks>Show All Bookmarks or Ctrl+Shift+B ". This will bring up the Bookmark Organizer, I think they call it Library now. From there click "Import & Back up>Restore" this will bring up a drop down with your back ups. If you followed step 1, find the json you added and select it. If you skipped step 1, from "Import & Back up>Restore" select "Choose File..." Then browser for the json you want to import. Which should be in a similar location as mentioned in step 1.
NOTE: "AppData" is a hidden folder, will have to set show hidden folders to be able to see it.

if the texts are in your back up, you can restore them. (Settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings, then choose restore from iCloud when prompted)

Does anyone know how to restore messages in mail?

The install was funky and a large number of my messages were moved to a TC folder. I can open them individually but they don't show up in mail.
I cannot just drag and drop because the new mail file/folder format is different in Lion.
Any thoughts?

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

How to stop messages from going to your old phone when you get an Andriod

So this isn't a question since i have the answer i just figured this out today and saw no answers for my case so i'd figured i'd post a solution i found.
In my instance i got the a new phone, Android, and the iMessages were still going to my old iphone. I restored the phone and took out the sim but messages still wouldn't go to my phone.
Every thread says in order to fix you have to go to settings in the phone... BUT WHAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR PHONE ANYMORE!
Here's your answer:
Go to apple.com and sign into your ID account on your computer. Go to the phone number settings. Delete your phone number. Save. And then for extra security change your password. Then turn your new phone off and back on and ask a friend who as an iPhone that hasn't been able to contact you to text to you see if it worked. It worked for me and i hope this works for you because this sh*t was frustrating.

Sign in. Go to the left side where it says phone numbers. Delete your number. Then save.
Your iPhone friends will now get the red exclamation point that the message didn't deliver instead of it sending. Then your iPhone friend will force the message to go through as a text by long pressing the message and choosing send as text. Once tthey do that once you're set and all other messages will automatically send as texts for them to you. You just have to hope your iPhone friends realize to force the messages through as texts the first time around but even if they don't at least they know they aren't reaching you and you aren't ignoring them.

I am using Java MAil API in my application, i want to delete message from AOL account's folder,
when i set the folder as "Recently Deleted" or "Trash" , i get an exception as "folder does not exist".
when i tested , some times mail is moving into Recently Deleted folder, but not every time.
this is happening in both the interface as AOl Interface or my application.
when i use folder.close(true) after setting the flag of message as DELETED. it completely remove the message from the acount.
but i want to let the message be remained in the Recently Deleted folder. what should i do.
i dont want to remove the message completely from the account.I am using IMAP also.

You'll need to figure out what the real name of the "Recently Deleted" folder is on the AOL IMAP server
(assuming it's a real folder and not some sort of "virtual" folder), then copy the message into that folder.
See the folderlist.java demo program as a way to explore the names of all the folders on the server.
