How to restore sound to exported avi? - Flash MX 2004 Pro
Hi,
Over the last couple of days I have been tinkering around with Flash MX 2004 Pro. More specifically, I have been importing avi's to the library and then placing the embedded video into a movieclip so I could have more control over it. While in the library I could preview the video along with the sound. Exporting the video again in avi format it would render the sound. However, all of a sudden it will only preview the video and not the sound in the library and the same goes for when I export a video there is no sound. The strange thing is the sound is still present when I test the movie. I have tried reinstalling the program with no luck. Any ideas?
Many thanks.
Well there is no answer to my question, but I did finally get the Adobe Media Encoder dialog box to come back again.
After uninstalling Premiere and QuickTime, then shutting down the computer, rebooting and logging on to the Admin account, shutting down again, rebooting again, logging in to the Admin account again ...
I then went in to the registry and removed all the Entries that had either of these in it:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\DVA\COM
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\DVA\FLASH
and these as well
C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents\FLV.qtx
C?\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents\FLV.qtx
Rebooted the computer, logged back in to Admin.
I then re-installed QuickTime, and rebooted.
I then installed Premiere and the Adobe Media Encoder Flash dialog now shows up.
I'd be careful messy with the registry if you are trying to fix this type of problem. Try uninstalling quicktime and premiere and do the above shutdown, reboot sequence a number of times before doing anything to the registry.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that Flash Website I've working on...

Error in export to Flash MX 2004
Hi,
While exporting to Flash MX 2004 it shows an dialogue box "
To export a Captivate movie to flash, you should have Macromedia
Flash MX 2004 installed."
Even though I've Flash MX 2004 already installed on my
machine, this error shows. How can I get an FLA output from
Captivate ?
FYI: I am making a screen capture movie like elearning
course.Hi Guys!
Greg said ...
quote:
I wonder if Captivate 2.0 will import a Captivate 1.0 and then
export to Flash with the tweens intact? Any idea yet?]
Hey
Rick, you only made one mistake (but for you even that is
rare). Greg said
"with the tweens intact" ... and you read
"... when tweens interact.".
I'm sure you'll agree that with the clarification, it's not
confusing except the extent to which Greg expects or desires that
movement of objects - including "transitions"? - in the original
Captivate project be preserved after bringing it into Flash 8. As
far as CP1 - to - CP2 - to Flash 8 is concerned, CP1 projects seem
to me to be converted very well. And moving the (now CP2) project
conversion into Flash 8, there is little that won't come along
nicely.
Yes, Greg, including the tweens, which are preserved for the
objects I looked at specifically ... but the right person to answer
that question might be Mark (Fletcher) instead of myself. I
imported CP movies to Flash 8 only to see if it was being done
without the previous loss of non-supported elements (etc.) but I
have no intention of actually working with my Captivate projects
inside the Flash environment - during beta, now, or ever. I just
feel that the power of Captivate is sufficient for my purposes, and
importing it to Flash 8 would accomplish little except to put the
horse in hen-house. (That makes perfect sense to me, and is greatly
humorous as well; but if you don't "get it", I don't think I can
explain it.

This is the message I get when I export:
"To export a Captivate movie to Flash, you should have
Macromedia Flash 2004 installed."
I do have Macromedia Flash 2004 installed. In fact I removed
Flash 8 from my machine and restarted just so there would be no
misdirection.
Does anyone have any idea what can fix this?
Frankly, I am ready to give up on Captivate for good. I have
been twisting myself over backwards for two months to get Captivate
to work as a robust e-learning tool. It could be that I am just
asking too much of this program.
Still, it is supposed to export to Flash MX 2004 and it's
not. Any ideas?Hi naimahav
Frankly, I am ready to give up on Captivate for good
I'm not sure what category you fall into here, but it's not
uncommon to see people that are pretty familiar with Flash view
Captivate as some "nifty Flash add in". If this is your category,
it's not surprising you are frustrated. Even though Captivate can
produce .SWF output, it was never intended at any point to compete
with Flash. It has a totally different purpose.
I guess the larger question here is, what are you wanting to
accomplish that you feel Captivate cannot do for you and you feel
the need to resort to bringing it into Flash?
Oh, I suppose while I'm here I should give you a link to a
TechNote regarding the message.

What do i get with Flash pro8 vs. Flash mx 2004 pro?
Hi all,
I currently have Flash MX 2004 Pro. What more am i getting by
upgrading to Flash pro 8 that i don't already have with MX 2004
pro?HI,
Thanks...
I wish they would keep a comparison chart.
I did search the forum and read the "Whats new" in the
product discription but i still like to ask current users because
they can provide a "worth it or not worth it" opinion since some
updates are not more than an attempt to generate more revenue
through minor improvements. -
Exporting to Flash using Quicktime pro
I'm trying to export a 43 min vid from FCP6 using quicktime conversion. I want to export to Flash. Its for web content, and its in widescreen.
Any help with size and converting to flash would help. I've never done web content before.
Thanks!!
tec24First, some questions: 1) what's the purpose? 2) who's your intended audience? 3) has it got to be done quickly, as in a short deadline? 4) Why Flash? 5) Why 43 minutes (have you ever in your life watched a 43 minute streaming video on the internet on anything but the most powerful 'puter with the highest-speed, dedicated internet connection)? 6) Do you care that what people see you throw up on the internet ultimately reflects on how you yourself are perceived by those same people?
For what could be a quick disaster, or if this project is mainly for sh*ts and giggles, follow the advice given in the first reply, post it pronto and don't bother with the rest of THIS reply.
Or, if you're on a deadline, pay someone who TRULY knows what they're doing to do it for you -- and they might still balk (if they have any scruples) at a 43 minute web video unless you've got a really good reason to make folks wait for way longer than 43 minutes of stop-and-start Flash stuff.
Otherwise, if you're not in a hurry:
FIRST, procure a book on the subject, like Apple's "QuickTime for the Web" (available on line and at Borders, for sure).
THEN, with some reading under your belt, be prepared to start experimenting with combinations of smaller movie dimensions and FPS rates (generally, half of what the original is); then on to varying types of video compression (Sorenson or Sorenson3 have historically given some of the best results, with H.264, the newest and more difficult to configure giving the truest quality, but not discounting the various MPEG settings; and last, but certainly not least, playing with your audio compressions to see what you're willing to lose in order to (hopefully) gain an internet audience. Like it or not, it depends on YOUR vid's content and audio as to how to make it small enough to be seen in its best internet presence.
OR, You might try some of Compressor's export settings -- and be totally satisfied. It's all relative to the work you've created and how long you're willing to work at what you're willing to sacrifice to still pull off a good illusion of your original video at a fraction of its original size.
I wish it weren't so, but there's no quick and easy answer to your question if you're serious at all about the end result. You have to consider all the angles I've posed (and then some) to get good results that'll show YOU in your best light.

Sound problems exporting to Flash
I am getting a ‘stuttering’ sound on video I exported from QT to Flash 8. Any idea what could cause it?
I’m using the default settings, and have tried all 3 quality settings (low, med, high).
Thanks as always…

Greetings and welcome to the Apple boards.
I don't know for sure if this will fix your problem, but this document about no audio from certain multimedia content references a fix that has been known to solve many audio issues. Maybe it is worth trying.

How to restore from an export?
Hi,
I have SQL Azure and daily backup (export to .BACPAC) of databases to a storage account in Azure. I would like to restore the .BACPACK to a different SQL Azure server as a new database either in the same or different Azuresubscription. What is
the process for doing this? It seem the only option is to download the .BACPACK to my local drive and using SQL Management Studio to import it to the new Azure SQL Server.
ThanksHi Ultragc88,
Import a data-tier application (DAC) file – a .bacpac file - to create a copy of the original database, with the data, on a new instance
of the Database Engine, or to Windows Azure SQL Database. Export-import operations can be combined to migrate a DAC or database between instances, or to create a logical backup, such as creating an on-premise copy of a database deployed in SQL Database.
here is the link to technet article describing
in detail
hope this helps

Hp g60 418ca, how to restore sound after installing windows 8.
I installed Windows 8 on hp g60 418ca. I have tried all troubleshooters, guidelines, etc. but have not succeeding in getting the sound working. There are no windows 8 drivers, but I've tried the W7 and Vista drivers using various compatiblity modes. I've tried to let W8 update the driver. The devices DO show up in control panel/device manager and when I test them the volume level bars move up and down, but no sound comes through speakers and/or headsets.
Do I just need to wait for HP to release drivers... what is the best approach?Hi doug_125,
More than likely HP is not going to support hardware for W8 on any system purchased before Oct 1st 2011. Some updates for W8, most W7 drivers will work in W8.
If you still had Windows 7 installed, you could run the Upgrade assistant software, it will scan your PC and generate a report on what is currently installed on your PC is compatible with W8.
http://goo.gl/z8LVf
Here is a document for covering upgrading to Windows 8 http://goo.gl/CO6uV
The document is fairly extensive, covering all sorts of issues. There is a section about audio drivers. Perhaps it will help.
Please let me know if it does help.

How to restore sound card to default on late 2012 mac mini??
I have a late 2012 mac mini with a sound card that is not working right? The issue is the line-in is not working at all, and the microphone is grayed out, like its disabled?? Please Help!!!
The only ways any Mac Mini could have a microphone, since there is none installed:
1) if you have a display with built-in mic; or
2) have an external camera, with built-in mic.
An iSight camera, original FW400 model, has a built-in microphone. Some Cinema
or wide displays with their own speakers and extra ports, may have a built-in Mic.
A newer Thunderbolt 27-inch or 27-inch LED Apple, has built-in iSight or facebook
kind of camera and those include a microphone.
So while nobody doubts a microphone would be necessary for a local voice input to
a Mini Mac; there is no reasonable doubt of built-in mics, as no MINI model had any.
With that off the table, the other information already presented is worth revisiting...
A reset of the SMC/PRAM may help an actual hardware or software (firmware) issue;
but, it cannot reconnect with a non-existent 'built-in' accessory where none is present.
The system profile hardware information in the Mac OS X will show all the components
and their software aspects, as does most published information on the entire Mini line.
If a reset of the System Management Controller, or Parameter Random Access Memory,
fails to change the situation, try both of them again. Carefully & deliberately. And then,
if there is no traction and the peripheral aspects of other accessories which would be
most likely to include built-in audio input are also double-checked for function, you may
choose to inquire of an expert, product specialist, Authorized service provider, etc and
have them perform tests to see if there is some other hardware failure involved.
Good luck & happy computing! -
How to restore Audio to default settings?? MacBook Pro late 2011
I am attempting to hook a tape deck (componant...relies on receiver for volume). I had everything fine, but the audio was really low through the Mac no matter which setting I put it on. I then downloaded an app called HEAR....as I read it can help boost the volume on a Mac. It didn't work and I uninstalled it.
I changed the jack settings back to output and plugged earbuds in, but now, ANY audio sounds distorted as if it were being played in a can! I tried another set of earbuds thinking it was the issue: it's not.
SO..I am guessing the software did something and I just can't figure out how to get back to the original settings.
Any insight would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
CarrieWhat do you suggest then ?
I suggest troubleshooting the problem instead of just guessing what has to be done. Since you're within 90 days of purchase, you're eligible for phone support from AppleCare.
Stop the secure erase. Quit Disk Utility and either restore from a Time Machine backup or run the Installer. You don't mention whether you have a backup. I hope you do, because otherwise your data is lost beyond any hope of recovery. -
Export to flash from prem pro 2.0
Hi can anyone tell me the exact procedure to go from my pp2.0
timeline to my website with the best quality flash, i use the 16x9
aspect ratio.
thank youIn Adobe Premiere Pro, select File/Export/Adobe Media
Encoder. A window will open where you can select the type of media
format you want to output. Under Format, choose Macromedia Flash
Video (flv), choose whether you want to export the entire sequence
or just the work area form your timeline, and for starters, select
a preset. Flash 8 NTSC 400 may work as a starting point. Then under
the "video" tab below, select "Options" button and another settings
window opens. Select "Show Advanced Settings" to tweak any
additional settings such as quality, codec, data rate or resizing
video, etc.
Once your settings are in place hit "OK" and you're done.
Occassionally I like to create small swf movies instead of flvs for
my website or CD. Rather than go into Flash and import the video
clip, I prefer to export an uncompressed avi from Premiere Pro
first. Then I bring it into Sorenson Squeeze for Flash, which lets
me import the full avi and tweak my settings in this program,
including the option to "embed" my flv in an swf or to link it, or
to even add pre-made video controller bars to my video.
For video professionals who do not want to get lost in the
geeky actionscripting of Flash, this is a nice, quick alternative
that produces great results.

Best of luck. -
How Can I do an export that from Final Cut Pro 7 that is specific to these settings?
Hi
I am current trying to export out a movie from Final Cut Pro 7 but the settings that are required are very specific and I was going to try it through compressor as well but I wasn't sure if that would work either.
Here are the settings:
HD:
1 Video CODEC XDCAMHD50
2 Wrapper format QuickTime Self-Contained
3 Bit rate 50 Mbit/s Constant Bit Rate (CBR)
4 GOP Long GOP
Closed GOP
5 Time code Must include embedded time code. Start-timecode: 10:00:00:00
6 Movie version UK Home Video Version
7 Delivery time As per contract. Supplier to specify filename, delivery format and estimated time of arrival via email at least 60 days before transmission unless otherwise specified in contract. This should be accompanied by an IMDB link.
1 HD video format 720 line progressively scanned (720p) @ 50Hz (25 FPS)
1080 line interlace scanned (1080i) @ 50Hz (25 FPS)
2 Resolution 1280 x 720
1920 x 1080
3 Aspect ratio Content should be 16:9, however 4:3 will be accepted on exception (such as for older movies shot in 4:3)
4 Graphics Must be within 16:9 safe graphics area (EBU R95-2000)
5 Chroma format 4:2:2
1 HD audio format 24 bits/sample 48 kHz sampling rate
2 Track layout Track 1 – 2.0 Stereo L mono
Track 2 – 2.0 Stereo R mono
Track 3 – L
Track 4 – R
Track 5 – C
Track 6 - Low frequency effects LFE
Track 7 – L Surround
Track 8 – R SurroundFirst of all, what are your sequence settings? Looks like they want stereo AND dolby 5.1 audio tracks embedded in the quicktime (I've delivered a few films like this). Do you have a surround sound mix?
You will almost always have more options and control in compressor over fcp so that's the way I'd go, but not sure compressor will give you the ability to match these specs.
Do you understand about safe zones for graphics? If not, post back.
I don't see any option to set the GOP in xdcam in compressor. This may be built in to the xdcam format.
I don't see any option for 720 xdcam hd in compressor.
There are many other tools available for this kind of work, but they may be out of your price range. You might want to just find a facility with experience in deliverying this sort of thing.
