You can use Image Capture to save them exactly where you want them, or iPhoto if you use that. Canon also has its own pretty good image transfer and viewing software, and even pretty good video editing. Mine came on a CD with the camera (4 years ago) but you can likely download it from Canon's site (you will need your camera's serial number).

Hi, I just bought my PC today and I'm a bit T'd off by the commercial video that kicks in within a very short time if I don't move the mouse. Is there a way of stopping/re-configuring this please. This is just a quick comment to add to sarbin's good advice. Sometimes even though it appears that an anti-virus has been removed, there may be remnants left in various places such as the registry.You did not activate the software or update it, so that makes it eaier to remove, but it might be good to run Kaspersky's Removal Tool as well. HI i have encountered with a problem very i have got in screen, one date field and input field TEXT Field name i have give as the <tablename-<tablefield>> like ZFIR-DATES reason giving name like this is i want to save the date in a table ZFIR when i click save. The format of the variable on the screen needs to be the same as the global definition - if it's a date field on the screen then you should have something like
data:
g_date like sy-datum. "naming convention g = global
and g_date on your screen as a date-type field, then in your PAI where you store ZFIR
ZFIR-DATES = g_date.

What's likely happened is that when you transferred the video to the new machine they lost their dates.
Photos use the Exif metadata to record the date and time of the shot. This is quite different from the date and time of the file, which can change as the file is copied from place to place. Video doesn't have Exif, and so iPhoto uses the file date, and that's changed.
Simply, there's no absoultely reliable way to date video.
Try assign dates with the Batch Change command under the Photos menu.

You will need to have those files available for the process on your computer because this is a task which cannot be accomplished from the iPhone. You will need a disk burning utility on your computer (Roxio's software comes to mind as a possibility). The quality of the output is entirely dependent upon the nature of the original files and the capabilities of the software application. They can be written as a data disk or, in the case of the video, written as a movie so long as it is an unprotected file (from your own capture, for example). This entire operation has to be worked through on your computer. There is a minimal degree to which you can edit your captured video in the iPhone (3GS or 4) but it does not compare to the scope that would be available to you in a proper editing application on the computer.

Edited: I backed it up and I only retrieved my contacts and music playlist.

Backing up does not restore anything, it simply makes a backup of the content on the device.
I suspect you intended that you synced the device as this would put contacts and media from iTunes back on the device.

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

That .itl file actually is the library -- at least the critical part of it although the library is actually many files and folders.
Try starting iTunes and immediately hold down the option key. When it asks, guide it to the .itl file.
It's really hard to say without being able to poke around your computer. Upgrading should not delete the old library, but still it happens to the very, very few which is why we make backups before updating. If the old library file is gone then so are your playlists. You can always see if the following is of any use:
