Ria,
Create a smart playlist with the rule "Last Played>is in the last>1 day"
You can vary the time period to suit yourself.

Restoring the Recently Played Folder
I deleted the recently played folder. Anyone know you to get this back? Thank you
It's not a folder.
It's a Smart Playlist.
Simply create a new one (iTunes -> File - >New Smart Playlist)
Set it to Last played is in last two weeks (or whatever you want.) -
Restore the "recently added" folder
In iTunes I deleted the icon/folder "recently added" for some strange reason so I tried to get it back by adding a custom folder by the same name but iTunes won't put recently added stuff in there [i understand that] I can't figure out how to restore the default folder. I bet others have done this with other folder icons too so you could kill a couple of birds with a couple of clicks.

Restarting Firefox and rebooting the computer did not help.
1. Open the Library (Ctrl+Shift+B).
<br>2. On the left, expand the All Bookmarks section.
<br>3. Left-click the Bookmarks Menu folder to select it.
<br>4. On the top toolbar, click the Organize button and choose New Bookmark.
<br>5. Name the bookmark "Recently Bookmarked", and enter the following in the Location field. Change the value of ''maxResults'' if you want more or fewer than 10 items (which is the default).
<pre><nowiki>place:sort=12&maxResults=10&queryType=1</nowiki></pre>
6. Either restart Firefox or just open a new window (Ctrl+N) and close the old one. -
How to adjust the "Recent Updates" folder in iTunes.
I have a 2009 iMac running OS 10,10,1 and iTunes 12.0.1.26. In the podcast section, at the top of the sidebar there is what appears to be a folder titled "Recent Updates." I have looked noticed that it has been showing 134 episodes for the past two weeks irrespective of the fact that on a tiny fraction of the podcasts within this folder have yet to be listened to. Can anyone tell me why in the world the episodes are showing as 134 instead of the actual number of unlisted to recent downloads?
As you can imagine the second half of my question is "how" do I adjust this number?
Thanks in advance for your help!If its a new device
Plug in the cable in to you ipod
Put the other end in the usb port in your computer
When you plug it in to your computer there will start a program that is installing the program to run with your ipod with itunes
Don't do anything and wait till the program is completed with dowloading
If every thing is alraight itunes wil open up and you get to choose if you want to setup a new ipod or if tou want to setup the ipod with a backup -
Plays Function - How to restore the totals that i used to get lisetd on my old PC?
Any help on how to restore the "Plays" function would be gratefully received! I have recently installed itunes on a new PC and this function does not seem to work in the Library section.
Perhaps you need to revist the way you moved your library. This migrate iTunes library post shows ways to do it that bring over all the data intact. If that is no longer possible see my script SyncStats.

How you make recend uploads appear in the recently added folder
When adding to itunes library, how do you make the selections appear in the recently added folder. The folder was deleted but rebuilt.
It is a mixed playlist and finally I came up with an answer; it might sound strange but I woke up from a nap with all correct settings figured out.
This is what I did:
I had to specify a subset for every podcast or I would end up with every episode available on my library which in turn would reach the limit I set but that's OK. I noticed though, that podcast won't sync to iTunes Match, which is a bummer, but still they sync over Wi-Fi. This is what I got finally:
Thanks for all your help! -
I just switched to an iphone 4s and while switching the order of my playlist switched too. when I was using just an ipod touch after i listened to a song it would become #1 in the recently played playlist (which is what I want) and the songs that i havent listened to in a while are towards the bottom on the playlist. BUT NOW the song that i just listen to becomes the last song in the playlist and the songs that I hardly listen to are on the top (which is what I dont want).
I did not switch anything in my itunes settings.
I tried making a new smart playlist but the same thing happened
It is listed how I want it in my itunes on my computer but it shows up the opposite on my iphone.Exact same issue here!!

Lost the "recent file" folder in the dock next to the trash bin and cannot figure out how to replace it. Any thoughts?
First thing I would do is look in the trash and if it isn't there look in the System Preferences and I am sure it will be in there.
Cheers

How to restore the option to sync recent photos from iPhoto to iPad?
How to restore the option to sync recent photos from iPhoto to iPad?
I have Yosemite 10.10.2 running on a 2008 iMac
I have an iPad MD513B/A running version 8.1.2
On the iMac iPhoto is version 9.5.1, and iTunes is 12.0.1.26
I used to be able to sync photos from iPhoto (last 3 Events) through iTunes to iPad.
Where has that option gone? iTunes now only allows me to do now is to get pictures from the cloud to the iPad and I haven't prepared for that. So I don't have any pictures on my iPad to show my folks.
I can sync from iPhoto to my Classic iPod but that option has been removed from iTunes for the iPad by the look of it. I want it back so I can manage what I download to my iPAD.
Please can someone advise me how to restore the option to sync my recent photos from iPhoto to iPad.Where has that option gone? iTunes now only allows me to do now is to get pictures from the cloud to the iPad and I haven't prepared for that. So I don't have any pictures on my iPad to show my folks.
Have you enabled iCloud Photo Library (Beta) on your iPad? Switching on the iCloud Photo Library (Beta) disables the syncing of Photos with iTunes.
On your iPad check the Settings > Photos&Camera. Disable "iCloud Photo Library (Beta)", if you want to sync your photos with iTunes or upload your photos using "My Photo Stream".
On the iMac iPhoto is version 9.5.1,
Is there a reason why you did not update to iPhoto 9.6? That is the version, that includes the compatibility updates for Yosemite. -

If I copy/paste a link from Recently Bookmarked into Unsorted Bookmarks and then delete the link from Recently Bookmarked the link is then also deleted from Unsorted Bookmarks. WTF!! I have tried numerous way to get a Favorite into Unsorted Bookmarks or one of my other folders to no avail. It always goes into Recently Bookmarked. What's the point of the Recently Bookmarked folder if I then can't organize my Favorites the way way I want them. At this point I hate Recently Bookmarked and want to permanently banish it or I'm just going back to Windows Explorer. At least Explorer's bookmarking system works. BTW, I run Windows 7 Home Premium.

The Status Bar is not likely to return. You can install the following add-on to get some of the former Status Bar functions back. The Add-on Bar must be turned on. The add-on will also stop the showing of the "tooltip" type status loading text and the link hover, and will, instead, show it in the Add-on Bar:
*Status-4-Evar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
*After install and restart:
**Open Customze window (Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout '''''OR''''' View > Toolbars > Customize '''''OR''''' ALT+V+T+C '''''OR'''''right-click in the empty space at the end of the Tab Bar and choose Customize)
**'''While Customize window is open''', drag "Status Text", "Progress Meter", and "Download Status" from the Customize window to the Add-on Bar in the order and position you want them to appear. Then click "Done" button at lower right on the Customize window. -
How do I add "recently added" folder back to my itunes?
How do I add "recently added" folder back to my itunes on my Mac book Pro?
Hi.
"Recently Added" is just a Smart Playlist. You can recreate it by clicking File from the menubar, then New Smart Playlist. Mine is still set to the iTunes default condiitons which are to match all of the rules, Date Added in the last 2 weeks, Media Kind is not a Podcast, and Live Updating, but you can play with rules however you'd like.
Good Luck

How to restore the application icon
I need to know how to restore the application icon back to my Macbook. I need to download firefox and can not do so becuase the application icon is not showing up.
In the first place, the Firefox installer has an alias to the Applications folder in its window - you simply drag the fox icon onto that.
I'm assuming that the missing icon you're looking for is the one from the Dock?
If so, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar, find the Applications folder and drag it into the Dock (to the right of the line), being careful not to release the mouse until the other icons move aside for it. If you do that right, the Applications folder will remain in Macintosh HD, and you'll have shiny new alias to it in the Dock.
