Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard (command-C):
    ~/Library/Safari
    Quit Safari.
    Select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window should open. Restore the file named "History.plist" in that folder from a backup that predates the unwanted changes.

How can I lock a message against accidental deletion?

The safest way is to not use the Inbox for long term storage. Make folders for your important and keeper messages and move them out of the Inbox and into those folders. This also keeps your Inbox for the purpose it was designed for.

Close Photoshop Elements Editor and Organizer.
    Navigate to:
    //Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/11.0/Locale/en_US/
    Delete the file Mediadatabase.db3.
Re-launch Photoshop Elements Editor. A progress bar appears as the media database is re-created. Wait for this process to complete. It make take some time and the screen may periodically go blank; so go away and get yourself a coffee and be patient.
N.B. If you have any of your own custom effects, you may need to re-create/re-install them.

I'm not sure what you mean.
"F:\private\101ffc31\glxmdstn" contains thumbnails cache for photos app. You're trying to recover file you've accidentally deleted, yeah? Recuva has found the file header or something but cannot restore file due to the overwritten warning? Software will recover deleted files as long as they've not been overwritten, or partially overwritten. It seems Recuva is stating just that. If a file is damaged by corruption/fragmentation it can't be put back together properly, software will try it's best but depends on file. You could google for other recovery apps such as Disk Internals or Recover My Files (neither freeware, not used myself), but a police forensics team may struggle. I've not needed to recover files from phone (so far), so not had to troubleshoot Recuva with Symbian OS.
Best to back up files ASAP in future to reduce chance of loss, it can only take a slip of the finger as you know. If you do accidentally delete, recover ASAP.
Perhaps someone else can confirm, or add to, the above.

  • How do I restore the keychain passwords I accidentally deleted?

I have deleted accidentally the files in the path utilities -> keychain access-> local items, how to restore the files?

I don't think you can do 'undo delete' for keychain items, at least I couldn't when I tried just now.
So if you don't have a backup, for example, with Time Machine, you can't restore them.

  • How to retrieve files that have been accidentally permanently deleted?

I'm not sure how but some of my files just got deleted by accident.
They have been emptied from trash!
Is there any way i can retrive them?
    PLEASE!
    i'm desperate!
    These file are very important!

Were they important enough to back up?
If not, there are data recovery programs you can use. If you can, stop using the computer (because more use will increase the chance of the files being overwritten), and download (to another computer, if possible, which you can connect via Firewire) Data Rescue.
You can use it as a demo to tell you what files it can find - and then you can decide to purchase the software to enable you to recover them.

  • How to recover mail history of an accidentally deleted account

    Hi
I accidentally deleted a mail account and all its history.  the history is not available from the mail account server.  I don't seem to be able to recover it using Time machine recovery.  I think the only way is to try and recover the deleted mail history file but have no idea how to do this.  Is it possible for me to do this or do I need to take my imac to a specialist third party?
    Thanks

It all depends on the type of account and how it was configured. For IMAP-type accounts, mail is stored on the server, and setting up the account again is all that’s needed to regain access to your mail.
If you deleted a POP account, however, then all your mail stored locally in that account’s mailboxes has certainly been wiped out, not just moved somewhere, and you were warned that this would happen by the following alert:
    Remove Account
Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected.
If the POP account was configured to leave mail on the server for some time instead of removing it right away when downloaded, incoming mail that’s still on the server can be re-downloaded by setting up the account again, just like for IMAP accounts, but keep in mind that this would only work for received (i.e. not sent) mail that has not yet been removed from the server.
If the messages are not on the server, and you don’t have a backup, your only option in the case of Mail 2.x is to try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage (the files to be recovered would be different in the case of Mail 1.x). Of these, the only one I know for sure that can recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

How do I recover a note I accidentally deleted

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Under normal circumstances you can't. But if by chance you have a backup of your iPad that includes this note then you could restore te iPad with the backup and recover the note.

  • How to restore photos after i tried to delete them, they are still there

I tried to delete some photos to give me room on my start up disc. First I tried saving them to a thumb drive then tried deleting the pix. The photos come up blank but I still see them sometimes. how do I restore them completely.
part 2 what is the best way to store them off the hard drive?

assuming that you deleted them in iPhoto to totally remove them empty the iPhoto trash and then the system trash
to move your entire iPhoto library to an external drive
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
How to restore them - if you deleted tehm in iPhoto open the iPhoto trash and right click on them and restore to library
