How to restrict the standard notifications processing

Dear PM Gurus,
i copied standard notifications and i used customized notifications. Now i want to restrict the standard notifications using. users are using standard notifications mistakely and system generates the standard notification "M1" actually i customized "z1", so i required when ever user enter the notification type "M1" in IW21 t.code and execute it system should throw an error message. please guide me and help me to restrict the "M1", "M2" & "M3". if its required any user exits please tell me the user exits also.

First Method:
You can unassign number range for the unused notification types.
Second Method:
In selection of notification type in IW21, press F4. It will pop up window with all the types. Click the notification types which should be used & click Insert in Personal list button in the top near Find button. But This should be done each & every user if user name is different.
Also don't teach them about this functionality as this can be revoked by them without any restriction.

If I got your question, you intend to restrict a user 'sysadmin' (or someone with similar permissions) from any check in. And I guess, it's 10g (it 11g you would probably mention 'weblogic', because 'sysadmin' is already quite restricted there).
Well, you cannot use security model (roles, security groups and all that stuff), because you would disable admin rights together with checkins ('W' permission).
Therefore, the only way I can think of, is a component. You can create a custom component that will modify CHECKIN service to prevent a particular user or group of users from checkin of particular (or all) content. Check HOWTOCOMPONENT to get an idea. Or drop me an email and I send you a component which does a similar check, but controls that a user cannot exceed his or her quota.
Alternatively, you could also modify GUI to disable access to CHECKIN pages to such people - but I would suggest to use the component as well - users could use other ways (checkin via website or virtual folders) and GUI change would not work for these.

You can club together the GI nad GR at the time of confirmation..
I.e Backflush for the components and auto GR for the Product.
So that you can stream line the Process.
The best Option would be to use the User Exit:

I have a requirement to restrict the user from attaching a local file more than 20MB in Purchase Order.
In standard SAP system, the user can attach a file of any size in PO. How to restrict the size of the file?
I have no clue how to achieve this? Any kind of help would be great...

The file size is now restricted in function GUI_UPLOAD. But this function module is used at many places. I want to restrict it only for Tcode: ME22n and ME23n.
I thought of restricting it by sy-tcode field but sy-tcode value is not passed to this function module in the run time.
Could anyone help me on this how to restrict it for the above mentioned tcodes??

I have requirement to Restrict the input Help for 0MATERIAL in the BPS Layout.
For Example if the Planning Package is Restricted to SALES ORGANISATION ( 3000 ) then the system shuold check the 0MAT_SALES where SALES ORGANISATION IS "3000" )AND PASS THE Material Numbers to the 0material list.
I have Copied the standard Funtcion group "UPF_VARIABLE_USER_EXIT" to Z fucttion and have attached to Z Variabe as User Exit .
this Variable is Attached to 0material in the Planning Pakage. So tha now the 0MATERIAL is restricted to the variable which is having the User Exit.
But how to acces the Values of Planning Package for which the Layout is bein Executed from this Z User Exit ???
I Know how to restrict the input help, but my only problem is that how to get the values of Planning package through this User Exit.
Please suggest if it is possible.

As I understand from your question,you know how to restrict but the issue is to know the value in the package with which you need to restrict.
There are two tables which can help you finding the value used in package for sales organisation:
1. UPC_PACKAGE
2. UPC_OPTIOS
How to use ?
From UPC Package you will get one GUID, Hit the second table UPC_OPTIOS with this GUID.
In field "FIELDNAME" enter the name of the characteristic whose value is req (sales organisation in your case)

The system asks for access key only of two reasons:
1) You may be having problem of access rights. You would have to contact basis peopl.
2) You may try to name an object not complying with the rules. You may have to check with the same.
the process of getting access key is
the steps to get access key
you can also try via transaction OSS1
In your Inbox, click on 'Registration', then on 'Register Objects', then you will have to choose your installation and give details about your object.
The details you can get by going to your object and clicking on 'Change' - the pop-up screen which asks you for the access key gives you all the details you need to fill in on OSS1 to get your key.

After getting into the site,select quicklinks, then click s to goto SSCR, in
that select registration,
after giving the proper details, u can get the access key

on sap support portal (sapnet)

I would like to restrict the Number of Attachments,
I found many threads on how to restrict the size on the attachments.
Is there any standard way(profile or setup) to restrict the number of attachments
Other Option is
When the user try to add attachments, I need to get the Entity, PRIMARY key and
query FND_ATTACHED_DOCUMENTS count and through an error message.
Not sure how easy it is.
If anybody tried this requirement please share the logic to achieve the same.

How to restrict the changes in Relesed PO?.

How to restrict the users to make a changes in the Released PO?. User should make the changes only if it is unreleased by the respective codes.
1. Is there any user parameters like functional authorisation?
2. I have already suggested two solutions to the clients that
1. To restrict the authorisation of TCodes ME22n at the user level, but it's not a suitable solution, if user want to make any changes before releasing, then system is not allow to do the changes.
2. I have made release indicator as a 1 - not changeable if it is released, in release strategy settings. But the system is not allowing the all the users including release codes to make the changes?.
If there is any solution, please reply immediately.

if u set release indicator 1, after release is taken place, for any changes, u need to revoke the release. and then change the PO.
even u cant directly block the changes to already released PO, because, in future if at all qty or some changes is required to change, it should allow u to change!

to see this characteristic in the process orden you should go to Header >> CO Classification. If you want to add a characteristic, this should be added to SAP_KKR_CLASS. Characteristics for material (001) are not the same than those for CO Classification (013), so you should develop some special report (we did some special developmet for the printing of order forms )

How to get the standard Menu of Query Designer into Web Template

is there a way on how to put the standard menu within Bex Query Designer (after executing a Query with the Query Designer you get into ad-hoc reporting with a menu including several functions like print, show as..., properties, etc) into an individual Bex Web Template?
Copy & Paste source code will not work I guess because of several javascript functions I don't have access to.

BEx queries are displayed on the web using standard web template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN or some customized version base don your implementation.
You can either include the 0ANALYSIS_Pattern web template in your custom template or use Save as to create a new template with 0ANALYSIS_Pattern AS THE STARTING POINT.

We allow our users to schedule and execute in background mode transactions (example IP19, IW38). We gave them for that authorizations (object S_BTCH_JOB with LIST, PROT, RELE and SHOW - objetct S_PROGRAM with BTCSUBMIT).
We would like that users can schedule and execute their jobs only with the u201CImmediateu201D job start condition (in the Start Time screen for the type of start condition : Immediate, Date/Time, After job, After event, or At operation mode).
Another solution: prohibit the scheduling and the execution background job in a certain time interval ...
How can restrict the job start conditions ?

Yes, sa38 makes it possible indeed to execute in background into immediate mode a job but
the user have to know the name of the program to be carried out ...
The user knows only the name of these transactions trade. For example, IW38.
In the menu of this transaction, SAP gives the possibility to execute in background :
Program --> Execute in Background --> display of Start Time screen for the type of start condition :
Immediate, Date/Time, After job, After event, or At operation mode).
It is at this time there that we want that the user can only choose the "immediate" mode.
We must thus prohibit the other choices (Date/Time, After job, After event, or At operation mode) ... and
and we don't know how to restrict these other options in this screen "Start Time screen for the type of start condition".

Use Authorization group for technical objects, create authorization gruops in IMG and assign the same to the Equipment master and block the other department with the same authorization group. For ristricting the authorization group to other departments after creating and assigning it to the equipment seek help from your BASIS team.
goto the below path for cerating the Authorization group:
IMG - PMCS - Master data in PMCS - Technical Objects - Define Authorization groups:
Here you define the authorization groups, after completion of this step go to the Equipment master in General Data tab page there is a feild Authourization Group, mention the respective authorization group and provide this Authorization gruop value to the respective user in the user role with the help of BASIS Team.

I want to restrict the duplicate values at lov which is a colunm in an Adv Table.
If user enters duplicate values then first it should show an error msg that Duplicate values have been entered.
After the duplicate values have been removed, then the user can save all the values in the table.
My Adv Table is based on a VO.

Please let me know how to restrict the change access in CRM for the orders that are created in ECC. The ECC orders will only for display in CRM but not for change,
We have the orders that are created in ECC, it will flows to CRM and should restrict the access to get in to the change mode in CRM but as of now CRM system is allowing change mode for ECC orders and ending up with errors.
Is there any additional middleware parameter that needs to be added to SMOFPARSFA table to get this functionality! Please advice! Thank your for your help.

You can use the PFCG role to control if the user is able to create, change, delete or only display a business transaction type.
