How to retain an object (lader) painted blue in a Green screen set....

Hello there!
     I would appreciate a piece of advise about a matter I am working on.
I have attached two photos  and I will explain what I want to do.
I would like to key out the green backdrop in order to keep just the actors but I also want to replace the blue lader (the blue color) with a fractal noise patern so it looks like it is a burning lader.
OK I can make the fractal noise patern and give it the appropriate randomness. I have also find a way to replace the lader with the fractal noise solid (using alpha matts) but I don't think I am getting a very good result.
Could you suggest a way of keeping only the blue color instead of keying it out?
Thank you!
Yiannis.

Two keying passes, two layers, a fractal noise layer, dummy layer (see pic) and an adjustment layer for color correction nested above your keyed footage. Depending on the movement of the ladder and the camera you may have to do some motion tracking.
Pay very close attention to how I set up the fractal noise layer. This took about 5 minutes. Here's a CS6 project file for you to take a look at. Just replace the missing photo with one you posted.
Use the other picture for the project and redraw the garbage matte and the same project file will give you this:

  • How do i use my own image with keying (or green screen)

    how do i use my own image witrh keying (or green screen)

    Put your sky clip on a layer below the clip you want to key. One or the other will be a connected clip. Apply  the Keying filter to foreground clip (the one with the green screen). The green will be seen as transparent and the sky will show through as the BG. Adjust as necessary in the Inspector.
    Good luck.

  • How to use an object's paint method

    I have created a class imagePanel which extends a jPanel to display an image. When I create a new imagePanel object I pass it an image argument which is used to paint my image on the jPanel, so far so good. I don't wish to have to continuously create new ImamePanels to display new images so I thought I could make a set_Image method that would set a new image in an exising imagePanel object. This is where I run into problems how to use the existing object paint method to replace the image. I tried this without success:
    public Image setMyImage (Image myImage)
    imageX = myImage; // imageX is the image that is painted by the imagePanel object's paint method
    paint(g);
    Something must be wrong on how I access the paint method. Thanks for any help.
    Jack

    Yahoooo, got it. This was the code I needed and thanks for your help:
    public void setImage (Image myImage)
    imageX = myImage;
    repaint(300);
    }

  • Painting a studio for green screen work

    Hi.  I use Adobe Master Suite CS6 (mostly with Keylight in After Effects for my green screen work), and I'm just about to finish building a home studio (20' x 13' x 9' high) - I know it would have been better to have a higher ceiling, but just couldn't swing it.
    Anyway, I'm going to be filming a weekly show against a greenscreen on the far end, probably with Panasonic GH4 with gives access to 4:2:2 colorspace. For that (which is my main use), there will usually be 2 people seated at a  desk roughly halfway along the length of the room - leaving 8 feet or so past them to the green screen which will be lit separately.
    Occasionally I may want to video tape people walking around while talking.  And may also tape live music from time to time.  Ideally, both of those activities would incorporate a green-screen floor to allow for creative post-work.
    I've had the studio sound proofed and will be building acoustic panels, and I'm trying to figure out my best options for
    1) painting the walls
    2) painting the ceiling
    3) the floor is currently a smooth cement slab - not sure if I should leave it alone and just seal it; or if I should paint it green, at least in the back half of the room where talent would be filmed; or put some kind of covering down
    I've heard different advice about painting everything black (because it won't reflect stray light, thus gives you good control - downside is all black could make for a dreary work environment
    Have considered green on the whole back of the studio - walls, ceiling and floor - would leave green screen options from all angles, but could increase spill of green onto talent and make hard to fix in post
    Or white ceilings - since only 9' high, I might need to bounce light off the ceiling while other studios would simply hang lights from above.
    Also trying to figure out if I should just use cement slab, put carpet, or linoleum
    Thanks for any advice.

    The Rosco paint will cover anything in one coat, that' why it is expensive.
    There are some very simple rules for lighting sets like the one you describe. Key the short side of the face, 45º angles, fill ratios. If you are new at lighting I'd look at some examples. They are all over the web. Here's something that you probably didn't think of. You don't need a lighting instrument to have a light source. You can use a reflector. With low ceilings I often stick reflectors on the ceiling and bounce lights off them. You can simulate any type of light by bouncing if you have the right kind of reflector. Smooth and shiny will act like a focused fresnel and matte (like a white show card) will simulate a soft box if you point a wide beam at it. In very cramped spaces, to get a pleasing overhead light with the right kind of fill I have often pointed a narrow beam light at a shiny reflector taped to the ceiling instead of trying to rig a light in the ceiling.
    If you have room I'd probably light the set with soft boxes or diffused light first and then add just enough fill go fix dark spots in the green screen. Lighting the foreground first, especially in a small studio, will give you just about the right exposure on the back wall because of the inverse square law. There is a real strong temptation to put way too much light on the green screen. For best results the GS must have a lower luminance value than a caucasian face.
    Also, remember that only the green screen behind your moving actors needs to be nicely lit. You can garbage matte everything else out and save yourself a ton of work in the studio. I just shot a pilot. There was no green screen involved but it was all on location in small rooms. For the most part I lit most scenes with 2 lights and 4 or 5 reflectors and 4 or 5 flags. If you know what you are doing it's very easy to light small spaces with a few instruments, flags and reflectors. For the setup you described maybe 2 lights on stands in front of the desk and 2 lights high in the back as backlights, a couple of big reflectors on each side of the set to smooth out the green screen and a few flags to control spill and I'd be done.

  • Blue/Pink or Green screen

    Hi. I have a number of 3000 Series C100 lenovo laptops. Of late, when being used by my students, all disappears and you are left looking at a screen with either a bluish or pinkish tinge. Only way out is to force a restart.
    After doing this the laptop will function normally for quite sometime (2-3 weeks) then do it again with out warning. I was wondering if this was an overheat problem. Laptops are being run without battery installed as they are connecting to mains supply.
    About 6 of the 14 laptops in the suite have begun to experience this problem.
    Help pls.... very frustrating.

    Check: Settings>General>Accessibility>Invert Colors>Off.

  • How can I put transitions btw clips that both use green screen?

    Seems that when I drop the transition between the clips (between the backgrounds -- it won't let me drop the transition between the videos shot with the green screen), it then pushes the green screened video clips together, and the transition doesn't play at all!

    iMovie does all rendering in one pass. This effect would require a nested render, which FCP excels at.
    If you want to do this in iMovie, do the first green screen clip. Share it using Export Using QuickTime in Apple Intermediatae Codec. Do the same with the second green screen clip. Then import both clips into an iMovie event. Now you can drag both these clips into a project and put a transition between them.

  • When I apply the Key for a green screen, everything blue turns purple. How can I correct?

    When I apply the Key to an evenly lit greenscreen, anything blue turns purple. How can I correct this?

    There's way too much blue in that green screen
    This is green
    Try pulling down the spill level and reducing the spill tint. You're probably going to have to tweak the color selection manually.

  • How to fix iPad that has a green screen and lags when you try watching videos

    How do you fix your iPad when it has a green screen and it lags when you try to watch videos, such as from YouTube?
    I tried to watch YouTube on Safari but it does not work, and the app version of YouTube does not work either. When the video is playing, it will start to turn green, and it will lag.
    Please, I would really appreciate it if you can help me, because I really want to watch videos again.
    Thank you very much!

    First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
    If that doesn't help it is most likely a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an apple store to have the device examined by a technician.

    Hi,
    1. Create a Control (for Custom and Split Containers only)
    2. Instantiate a Container Object (in case of Custom and Split Containers, specify the control which is created by us in Screen painter) CREATE OBJECT
    3. Instantiate an Object of the kind of report that has to be displayed (List, Grid or Tree). CREATE OBJECT . Here we need to specify the Parent Container as the so that it sits in that container.
    4. Call appropriate methods to display the report on the screen. CALL METHOD ->

  • How to pass an object from jsp to other jsp using SendRedirect

    How to pass an object from one jsp to the other jsp using ssendRedirect with out using the session
    I am having 2 jsps
    x.jsp and y.jsp
    From x.jsp using sendRedirect iam going to y.jsp
    From x.jsp i have pass an object to the y.jsp
    Is it possible without putting the object in session
    Is it possible using EncodeUrl
    Please help me Its Urgent

    Is it possible without putting the object in sessionAnything is possible. Would you accept that it is very difficult?
    When you send a redirect, it tells the browser to send a new request for the target page. That means any request parameters/attributes are lost.
    Is it possible using EncodeUrl response.encodeURL() puts the session id into a url if the browser does not support cookies. It is purely for retaining the session.
    There are two ways that you can communicate across a sendRedirect.
    1 - use the session
    2 - pass a parameter in the url.
    parameters are string based, so passing objects is almost out of the question.
    Potentially you could serialize your object, encode it in base64 (so it is composed completely as characters) and pass it as a parameter to the other page, where you retrieve it, unencode it, and then load the serialized object.
    Or you can just use the session.
