How to Retain Graphic Equalizer Settings?

When I click on the Graphic Equalizer icon in FCPX (under Audio Enhancements in the Inspector for a selected audio clip), it always opens up with the default settings for the selected Equalization mode even if the mode isn't changed. The documentation says that changing the mode, like switching from "Flat" to "Hum Reduction", will reset the levels which I can totally agree with because a new presets model is being selected. But, if I've spent considerable time adjusting the levels (and the mode now reads "Hum Reduction (edited)") and then click on the Graphic Equalizer icon, instead of opening with the adjusted levels displayed it opens with the levels reverted back to defaults. All the hard work of setting the levels gets erased if I want to further tweak the levels some more. Is this a bug, or is there a different way of opening the equalizer without trashing a clip's current settings?

This seems to be a bug and has been reported numerous times. Suggest you send a report to Apple. Use Final cut menu send feedback to Apple. As a workaround use one of the audio EQ effects. The Logic Pro one is quite good.

You can't there are no equalizer settings on the Shuffle. Incidentally, if you are just wanting to boost the bass that is not getting the most performance from your headphones that is just making the bass abnormally loud.

How does one adjust equalizer settings in the iPhone?

I've seen a post on this forum that it is possible, but not how I actually do it.

To Adjust the EQ settings go to Settings then tap on iPod, you will see EQ in there and will be able to adjust.

RH 8 - How to retain File Update Settings

Using RH8, integrated with FM9, when I open and close a project, the File Update Settings change for the linked FM chapters.
Any ideas how I can prevent them from changing?

Open the File Update Settings tab on the FrameMaker Document Settings window. (Right-click on the linked Frame chapter in RoboHelp and select Properties.)
The settings on this window are the ones that change with each opening and closing of the project.
When I re-open a project, RH is defaulting to "preserve" many of the topics (but not all), so I have to go through and uncheck all of the topics that I want RH to update. The Help system probably has 250 topics, and with no "Select All" button, it's a lot of unchecking. Would love to preserve these settings.

How to retain the ( ALV ) settings in Excel ?

In one of my reports I am using ALV with feature Row Grouping.
After exporting the data into Excel, the rows which are grouped in the ALV are getting populated without grouping rows/cells i.e., populating data for each row Cell in Excel.
Is there any solution to avoid this.Let me know.

Optimal Settings using Graphic Equalizer

Hey everybody, I'm on a laptop computer (A Dell XPS M70) with surround speakers (two on the front, two on top next to the keyboard, and a subwoofer). The speakers sound okay, but I was wondering if anyone had optimal settings for the graphics equalizer to make the sound clearer and with greater bass definition. Please post either a screenshot of the settings, or just state what setting you have each slider of the Graphics Equalizer on. Thanks a lot!

Actually Hick he's right and your wrong, LOL. I decided to take a look at Dells site and his laptop does have an intergrated sub.
Standard:
High definition integrated stereo sound with Integrated subwoofer.
Stereo 2 watt per channel main speakers and 5 watt, class D subwoofer with bass reflex port

How to make radeon graphic switching settings permanent

The wiki for the Acer TimelineX gives the following lines of code for a power-saving configuration:

This works perfectly for my purposes -- to reduce fan noise -- but how do I make these settings permanent? Is there any downside (performance-wise) to adding the debugfs to /etc/fstab? The radeon module is already loaded, so what remains to know is what to do about the echo ON / echo OFF lines. Should I put them in a startup file, or is there another way to set them by default?

No, I haven't measured it. I was just wondering about the necessity of having a debug file system mounted and running just in order to stop some activity. Seems rather roundabout to me. That's also why I wondered if there is some other way to do this: as a permanent setting rather than as a command to be run at boot/login time.

Using the itunes graphic equalizer with my ipod nano

I read in the ipod nano manual that it is possible to use the graphic eq in itunes for my ipod nano. You have to switch off the equalizer on the ipod in the 'playback' section which I did. Then the manual says that you can assign tracks to the graphic eq on itunes. Unfortunately it doesnt say exactly how to do that. I dont like the eq presets on the ipod nano and would like to use the graphic equalizer on itunes to eq all of the songs on my ipod nano. Does anyone know how to do this. Please help as this problem has taken over my life!!

How to retain 960x600 permanently on Z61t?

I need help on how to get my Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad Z61t with Intel 945GM graphics into 960x600 graphics mode without opening the lid. I want to do this because the laptop is connected via s-video to my TV and 960x600 is the only resolution which has the correct aspect ratio for a widescreen TV.
I can do it by opening the lid, selecting clone mode, changing the resolution to 960x600 and then closing the lid. BUT when I reboot the PC, it reverts to 800x600, and I have to go back through the process of opening the lid, selecting clone mode, changing the resolution, and closing the lid again - which is not very convenient, especially as the laptop is located in a cupboard.
I tried setting the resolution when connected remotely via VNC (without opening the lid), but when the lid is closed, the resolution 960x600 is not available to select, unless I first set that resolution with the lid open as described above.
Can anyone suggest how to get a Z61t to retain the 960x600 resolution automatically on reboot (i.e. without opening the lid to set it manually)?

You need to be sure not to click the red X in the right corner of the gadgets as this actually removes them from your Smart Space desktop. By default, you should receive a dialog box when clicking the X stating: "Click "Yes" to remove this gadget from the Smart Space desktop. All your settings from this gadget will be deleted." There is a setting in the Smart Space Control Panel's General tab "Display warning when closing gadgets" which determines if the message will be shown.
For your Smart Space desktops you can show the head up display then change your Smart Space desktop preference to "Show Smart Space desktop in task bar when the head up display mode is on". This will allow you to minimize the desktop by clicking the green icon on the top right of the desktop.
When you exit Smart Space, it automatically retains all gadget settings so that when you restart Smart Space you can view your reports in the Smart Book and use the Favorites to launch content.

How to retain focus in Web forms 6i item when displaying pdf image in a multi-record block?
Hello.
I have a Web Forms 6i program (version Forms 6.0.8.19.2) running in a 3-tier application. The web form program has a multi-record block containing invoices. When navigating to a record, the form should display the PDF invoice image which is stored in an Oracle 8.1.7 database as a BLOB in another window. When user press down-arrow, the next PDF invoice image should be displayed.
I am able to accomplish the functionality above by using web.show_document('URL', target') in the when-new-record-instance. The URL being called is a PL/SQL Web Toolkit stored procedure using wpg_docload.download_file built-in.
The problem is that the focus is lost on the Webform and the focus is shifted to the PDF image window when you navigate to the next record using down-arrow. I want to retain the focus in the form as this is a data-entry form, the operator will use down-arrow to go to the next-record rather than the mouse. I also only want to do this for this Invoice Entry form and NOT to all forms.
Please advise how to resolve this problem. Thank you.

the issue of a SSO protected form showing the logon dialog is a knwon issue for Windows200 and the Oracle9iAS base release. If you applied Forms Patch 1 then this should be solved. Hope that I am right in that you are using Oracle9iAS and not Oracle9iDS. Do you see the Single Sign-On logon screen or the Forms logon dialog directly? Check the forms90.conf file in teh forms90/server directory as this contains the Form sso settings (mod_osso) which by default is commented out and therefore inactive. You need to remove the commenting '#' characters and make sure that each sentence having a '#' in front, after that starts on a new line.
The Forms deployment documentation within the Oracle9iAS docu provides this information too.

It's actually pretty simple to do, but I have to warn you that because the effects were rewritten in Audition 3, transferring presets means that they won't necessarily sound the same, I'm afraid. Also, make sure that you've installed the patch first, so you're running 3.0.1.
Process goes like this: Find your Audition.ini file (this is in C:Documents and Settings\{username}Application Data\Adobe\Audition\1.5 - these files might be hidden; you have to unhide them first), and to play safe, make a copy of it. Pick up the copy and drop it on the Audition 3 icon on your desktop. Yes I know this sounds a bit strange, but just do it! What will happen after a few seconds is that Audition 3 will open, but you'll get a number of dialog boxes telling you what's going on, and asking for permission to overwrite anything that has the same name. Essentially it will transfer every 1.5 preset you have into 3.0.1.

Equalizer settings reset

my equalizer settings have been the same for a couple months.. today i restarted the computer and all of my equalizer settings have been reset.
i saved the settings and they are not in the list anymore.
i dont have system restore turned on.
is there any way to recover those settings?
i ask because my equalizer was professionally calibrated and the settings are valuable.
maybe there is a file located on the hard dri've or a registry setting..

i found a website that says there is a file that holds the settings.
its called PCI_BUSXXXX-X-XXXXXXXX-XXXX.dat
i have this file on my hard dri've and the date of creation appears to be correct with when i calibrated the equalizer.
my microphone is now broken and i dont have any way to calibrate the EQ again.. so i am trying to use the settings file to restore my saved settings.
the post i got the name of the fiel from was asking 'how to back up EQ settings in x-fi control panel'

i figured out how to restore the settings.
there was another .dat file with todays date.
i simply copied the file with the settings i needed and put the copy in a different folder.
then i renamed it to the same filename with todays date and replaced the file.
i opened up the program and checked the drop down list, the saved EQ settings were listed once again.
this should last me until i can save up for a new microphone

you might check the volume control at the top left of the iTunes page. i keep mine on maximum, and equalize everything with that setting. sounds like you may have a volume issue.

Download custom equalizer settings to ipod?

How can you download custom equalizer settings cereated in iTunes to the iPod?
I created custom equalizer settings and assigned those settings to several songs. iTunes plays the songs with the correct equalizer setting on my computer. But when I download to the iPod, only the preset equalizer settings are available in the menu. I need custom settings to compensate for the earphone frequency response and none of the preset settings even comes close to what is needed.

Custom Equalizer settings lost

I had designed custom equalizer settings for my "tunes" to match my hearing loss. I believe somewhere in updating my iTunes application they were lost. They no longer appear in the selection window of the equalizer. Any body know how to get them back? iTunes v10.1.2. Thanks.

I am having the exact same problem. A number of my older files seem to have kept their custom settings, but not newer ones. I think it may have something to do with the EQ.plist file in the preferences folder in my library.
Does anyone know what the best way of resetting that file is and whether that will fix the problem?

Well, I use a custom equalizer setting on iTunes, and I was wondering if I could import it to my iTouch (3rd Gen, iOS4). Syncing it does not add my custom equalizer setting it to the lists, and I cannot find out how to mess with the equalizer settings on my iTouch. Any help would be loved! <3
