How to retrieve Facebook pictures when I deleted them from iPhoto?

Hi. I'm new to Mac and not very techy. Anyway, I synced my Facebook account to iPhoto and for some reason, I thought that iPhoto was just a back up of my facebook photos. I deleted the facebook pictures on iPhoto and now, I have lost all of my Facebook albums. Is there any way I can retrieve my Facebook Albums? They were 5 years worth of memories.

REstore you backujp of the iPhoto library form before you did this
and if you want photos only on Facebook then do not use iPhoto to upload them - iPhoto as documented does a two way sync with FB and any chnage made on FB or on iPhoto is syn=ced to the other platform

You can't delete it from your purchased list, as that is permanently maintained by the iTunes store.  You can, however, prevent it from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.

If you have copied them to your computer, then you will be OK.  Just deselect the photos when you sync.

ok sorry everyone but i solved it myself but the solution is so nuts i've posted it here to help others who have the same problem.
to setup a comcast imap account on your iphone:
go to mail, contacts, etc in settings
    under accts, select add account
    select "other"
new screen, choose "add mail account"
now on the new acct screen you must enter your name, email address and password for your GMAIL acct ! (yes i said your gmail acct !, or some other acct with a NON comcast address).
    hit next
    then the acct verifies
when verified a screen will open with all the acct settings for this acct AND @ the top of the screen are the 2 buttons > imap or POP
select imap and THEN CHANGE ALL THE ACCOUNT information to the comcast account !
then hit next and the account will take a couple minutes to verify but it will verify and now you have a comcast imap acct set up on your iphone.  The problem must be that when the iphone sends the initial verify acct info to comcast (if you enter that information first) the comcast server is simply not setup yet to signal the iphone that there is an imap option.

  • How can I remove the photos without deleting them from the album?

I am making a book in Aperture 3.  I want to change some of the pages that I have put together, and want to remove some of the photos from some of the pages, to put them on another page.  How can I remove the photos without deleting them from the album?

As a follow-up, I have found that clicking on the photo in the book also highlights the photo on the strip below.  So, if you then hit delete, you will delete the photo from both the book page and the album (which is the book, the way I have it set up).  If you only want to delete it from the book page, you then have to un-click the photo on the strip below, or both will be deleted.  This seems unwieldy.  I deleted 6 photos from a page and found all of them gone from the album.  The only way that I can see to keep them in the album is to then unselect them from the bottom strip after selecting them fro the page.  This seems to call for an extra step.

  • HT204150 mayday.....I inadvertly erased my contacts when I deleted them from my old phne and now my new phone contacts are gone

mayday....I inadvertly erased my contacts when I deleted them from my old phone and now my contacts in my new phone is empty.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Do you have a back up taken prior to deleting them.
To restore from a back up made through iTunes, follow these instructions.
To restore from a back up made through iCloud, try the following:
The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now.

  • Why does aperture convert my raw files to jpegs when I import them from iPhoto?

Why does aperture convert my raw files to jpegs when I import them from iPhoto?

    It doesn't.
When you import  Raw to iPhoto the app makes a jpeg preview of the Raw automatically. When you import from iPhoto then Aperture brings over both versions.

  • Emails are not being deleted form iCloud when I delete them from Mail

I am having trouble with not being deleted on the iCloud server when I delete them on my Mac.  If I delete them from iCloud they disappear from my Mac but if I delete from my Mac they stay on iCoud and then reappear on Mac.
On both iCloud and Mac I have preferances set to move deleted messages to the trash.
    any help would be appreciated.

You don't need to delete photos from your camera roll to save on backup sizes, you can turn individual items on and off for back up in your iCloud back up settings.
Apple States that the last 3 back ups are accessible, which means the photos from your back up may not be removed immediately.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • Why when I delete photos from iPhoto it deletes them from Flickr?

I find it unbelievably inconvenient. Can you help me to avoid it somehow, please?
I wanted to uploas all my photos to Flickr account and delete most of them from my MacBook, because I need some place for storage... But, I found out that my great plan has failed=(

The purpose of this article is to provide steps to delete pictures from iPhoto without changing the synced album in Flickr.
    1. Exit iPhoto and login to Flickr
    2. Change your Flickr password
Click on Settings - Password: Type a new Flickr password and click "Change Password" - make note of the changed password to avoid banging your head on the table later!
    3. Open iPhoto
    4. Click on a synced iPhoto/Flickr album
The following message window will appear:
"An error occurred with the publication of album "(NAME OF SYNCED ALBUM."
"Authentication with server failed. Please check your login and password information."
    5. Delete the album on iPhoto.
Delete the album, or albums of choice in iPhoto! Since iPhoto cannot sync to Facebook, your Facebook album will stay intact.
    6. Change your Password on Flickr
Either change password back to your previous one or keep the new password. This is up to you.
    7. Re-sync iPhoto with Flickr
iPhoto will not re-sync even if you change your Flickr password back to the previous password. You will need to re-sync.
The fastest way is to do this is to select one picture from your iPhoto library and click the Flickr icon like you would do to add photos to Facebook.
Choose whom you want the photos viewable by then click on the "Change Accounts" button.
Fill out the appropriate fields with your user email, your current Facebook password, and that picture will now sync with Flickr as a new album. Do whatever you want with this album in iPhoto (delete or keep).
All your current iPhoto albums are now re-synced with Flcikr! The deleted album is gone and will not sync which keeps the Flcikr album completely intact!
This is one workaround - there might be others. Again, until Apple solves this issue, this workaround works quite easily despite the tedious steps.

  • Is it possible to delete Outlook emails when I delete them from my iPhone 4?

I use Outlook 2002 on my PC with Road Runner as my carrier. Is there a way to set my email account up so that when I delete an email from my iPhone that it will delete it from Outlook? This worked on my Blackberry but won't work on my iPhone.

If they support IMAP, make sure both outlook and the iPhone are configured to use it. This will completely synchronize both devices. Messages deleted on one will be deleted on all (including the server). Same goes for filing messages in folders.

  • Songs get deleted on ipod when i delete them from the library

This is really annoying, I don't know if its the new iTunes or my new ipod shuffle. But what happens is when i delete a song from iTunes, Those songs are deleted from my ipod when i sync it to the library. I use windows. Now i'm afraid to sync my old ipod (gen 4) to the new itunes cause i'm afriad the same thing will happen and thousands of songs will be deleted off my ipod.
    PC   Windows XP

Forget that post ... the KB article referred to doesn't apply to Shuffles.
The Shuffle simply works differently. It doesn't have any exact equivalent to the normal 'sync' mode (it uses Autofill instead) and, essentially, is always operating in a reduced version of Manual Mode as experienced on other iPods.
The Shuffle will also be tied to only one single iTunes library at a time, and you can absolutely expect that deleting a track from the Library will also delete it from the Shuffle's playlist (in exactly the same way that deleting a track from your Library also deletes it from all other playlists .... no difference at all).
The only direct way to prevent that from happening is to set things up so that the Shuffle won't launch iTunes as soon as it's plugged in.

  • Why aren't my emails being automatically deleted from my ipad when I delete them from my iPhone

Is there a setting that I have to program on my mini ipad so when I delete an email on my iPhone it automatically deletes it from my mini ipad?

If you have an IMAP email account the actions should be synchronized across all devices, phone iPad and computer.
If you have a POP account try Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Your email account>Advanced>Delete from Server>When removed from inbox.

  • Why are photos deleting from Photo Stream when I delete them from Camera Roll?

Since the 8.1 update, anytime I delete a photo from my camera roll it also automatically deletes from my photo stream. Before it would stay in photo stream until I deleted it from there (I do that after importing it to Mac). Now I have to keep it in my camera roll or lose it, this defeats the purpose of having the photo stream for me. I've seen others with this issue but no fixes. Anyone?

They just made this feature useless with this issue. Why would I need those 2 albums if everytime I delete a pic from Camera Roll, it gets deleted on the other one.

  • Bridge is opening all of my RAW files as jpegs when I import them from iPhoto

I have set my iPhoto preferences to send my RAW photos as RAW when using an external editor. If I only use ACR, this works fine, but if I want to use CS4 they are all coming over as jpegs and I then have to work w them as jpegs. I have PSE 8 . Do I have to do something before I open CS4 to have them come over in RAW format?

Not Very familiar with iPhoto but I think you do confuse two approaches for
your files. If you choose to work from iPhoto it takes the originals but
when using Bridge it might be an exported version in jpeg.
If you have PSE 8 with Bridge CS4 I would suggest you make a choice in
workflow and use Bridge as starting point. You can import your Raw files in
Bridge using Photodownloader (get photo's from Camera in Bridge) preferable
use a card reader for this.
And/or copy the older original Raw files to a new folder.
You can find the originals that have been imported using iPhoto in the
picture folder/iphoto library. Click on the icon and with right mouse click
choose show package content. In this new window you will see a file called
originals with subfolders. Inhere find the ones you want and copy them to a
new folder from your choice (either in the picture folder or elsewhere, but
obvious not in the package window for iPhoto, you won't see them after you
    closed the package content window...)
Choose copy because in this way your iPhoto library and folder structure
    stays as it is.
Now point Bridge to the folder with this copied files and let it cache the
    files first (takes some time).
With this workflow you can manage your Raw files (rate, rename, adding
metadata and keywords etc.) and develop them in ACR and PSE. If you do want
to use the album structure from iPhoto you can choose to save your developed
files either as jpeg or tiff and place them in iPhoto.
It might be a better workaround because iPhoto is not the best application
to handle and develop Raw files, you have a lot more options in Bridge and
    PSE
