  • How to retrieve forgotten password?

I have an ipod touch 4th generation and have forgotten the password.
It was disabled after trying more than six times to access correct code.
Now it is unlocked after I have connected it to itunes...but is still asking me for password and I have entered 3 wrong ones so far.
What can I do to retrieve the password?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Retrieving icloud password

    Hi,
I have forgotten my icloud password and have requested a reminder.  However, the reminder will have been sent to an old email address that is no longer in use.  Does anyone know how else I can retrieve this?
I want to set up icloud on 4 apple devices, and will need the same icloud account.  I have tried setting up a new account, but it doesn't transfer all old photos/notes into this account and this is why I need my old one.
Is it possible to set up a new icloud account and have all old items transferred into this?
    Brisleybarn

Thank you - I've tried this but it just takes me to the 'reset password' page which then sends your password to my old email address which I can't access.  It also gives the option of answering security questions, which I try, but annoyingly then get wrong.
I would like to just start over with a new icloud account, which I have created, but don't know how to transfer all photos from my devices into this new account.
    Any ideas?

  • How to change iCloud password on a remote Mac?

I use iCloud and Back To My Mac (BTMM) to access some of the computers I have overseas. Everything was fine up until yesterday when I had to change my iCloud password. I now have lost access via BTMM to those remote computers as they need to have the iCloud password updated in the iCloud panel in their System Preference (and the Back to My Mac option has to be disabled/re-enabled to have it restarted).
I have remote SSH access to those remote Macs (all running Lion and in one case Snow Leopard), so I have a working SSH shell on them. But I cannot figure out how to update the iCloud password that is stored on those Mac via command line. I can reboot them if needed of course remotely, I'd just need to update the password used for the iCloud services...
Having someone walk to those Macs, login with my account and have them enter the password for me is not really an option, as to do that I'd have to give them both my Mac's account password and my new iCloud password, which is not going to happen :-) In addition, some of the Macs are used by my parents and in-laws, with their computer skill being limited to knowing how to open Safari and the Mail app. They wouldn't be able to help in anything technical.
So... is there another solution other than buying a plane ticket to go overseas and do it myself?

In case anyone wonders, I was finally able to update my iCloud password ont he remote computer. The key was SSH.
Issue this command to connect via SSH to the remote Mac:
    ssh remote_computer -L 5800:127.0.0.1:5900
This forwards all traffic from port 5800 on your Mac to port 5900 (the VNC/Screen Sharing port...) on the remote Mac.
Then open the Screen Sharing app from your Mac. From there, connect to:
    localhost:5800
This will actually connect you to the remote Mac, even though your iCloud password is wrong on the remote Mac. Now you have GUI access and you can login into your account remotely and update the iCloud password on the System Preferences on the remote Mac.

  • How to kill iCloud password popup on Mac start up?

iCloud password is asked every time I reboot my mac. Can't turn it off. It makes me crazy! How to kill this popup? MacBook Pro Yosemite OS X 10.10.2 (14C109)

    Good Afternoon vonnavi,
If you are repeatedly being asked to enter your iCloud password on your Mac, try these steps to resolve the issue:
iCloud: Account troubleshooting - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203512
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click “Manage your Apple ID,” and try to sign in with your Apple ID. If you are unable to sign in, follow the steps provided there to reset your Apple ID account password.
I receive a “failed user name or password” alert when attempting to sign in at iCloud.com, in iCloud preferences (Mac), or in the iCloud Control Panel (PC).
Make sure that you're entering your entire Apple ID when you sign in (for example, if your Apple ID is [email protected], make sure that you aren't trying to sign in with just “username”).
Verify that the Caps Lock key is not enabled. All passwords are case sensitive.
Make sure that you're using the correct iCloud-associated Apple ID and not a different Apple ID used for other services. For more information about having more than one Apple ID, refer to Using your Apple ID for Apple services.
If needed, reset your Apple ID password at iforgot.apple.com.
If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud as you do for other Apple Services, (for example, Apple Online Store, iTunes Store, or Mac App Store), changing your iCloud account password also changes your password for the other Apple services. Make sure that you sign in to those services using your new password. Also, be sure to update your Apple ID password on all of your devices and computers that may use your Apple ID (such as any email applications that you use to receive iCloud email).
I can't sign in to iCloud on my Mac due to an alert stating that my email address has not been verified.
If you can't sign in due to the alert “Account not verified - Check your email for instructions for verifying your account”:
Close and reopen iCloud preferences before attempting to sign in to iCloud again.
If that does not resolve the issue, check your email folder and Junk folder for a verification email sent from Apple.
If there is no verification email in your email folder or Junk folder, click the Resend Verification Email button in iCloud preferences.
    Hope this helps ...
    - Judy

  • How to set iCloud password to previous used one?

    Hi,
Hoping someone can possibly point me in the right direction regarding the following issue.
    Here goes my story.
Last week I forgot my iPad mini retina wifi only in a restaurant and when I went back looking for it, about ten minutes later, well, it was no longer there. Obviously.
The mini had the screen lock activated and the find my iphone option enabled. Untill there all well. (Except from losing my 1 week old device... Grrrr)
Anyway, through the find my iphone app on my icloud account I put the device in lost mode, set up a message to be sent should the device connect to the internet and requested an erase as it held sensitive business information.
Untill there I think all went ok, but then, in a panic reaction, and as to assure the new owner would not be able to access email and other stuff linked to my apple account, I reset the apple account password before it ever connected to the internet.
Now, I believe this will make it impossible for the find my iphone app to actually erase and/or send the ipad lost message to the device is it not?
My question: is there a way I can reset my password to the old one? Now I get the " use a password that was not used the last year" message when trying.
    Thanks in advance!

You are right, you cannot just change your pasword back to the old one, but don't worry, your changed password should not affect Find My iPhone.
