How to retrieve iPhoto 6/OS 10.4 thumbnails that all disappeared during or after thumbnail rebuild requested by the software?

While working in iPhoto, I received a request to rebuild thumbnails and clicked "yes."
At some point (I was coming and going from the project and may have closed down and thenr re-opened iPhoto, but I don't recall), the thumbnails disappeared. In the meantime, I had emptied the IPhoto trash.
All the photos still seem to be there. I closed and opened iPhoto a couple of times and then also restarted the machine. I can scroll through the photos but cannot figure out how to call up the thumbnails, and I gather from other discussions that perhaps I should try to rebuilid library.
Is that the only option?
If I try to rebuild the library, how do I back it up?

If you find you can't rebuild the library with iPhoto you may have to rebuild it with iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I think the app GroupMe might do what you want. You might also try contacting your carrier. My carrier offered some fancy group texting service for a while but they never really advertised it so, unless you asked, you never would have known. But, GroupMe is available in the app store. There are lots of other apps that also do group texting but it seems to be the one that gets recommended the most.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Does quickvoice show up under shared documents when connected to iTunes. you could transfer it that way. Connect to iunes and then select your device and choose apps along the top and scroll down and see if it is there under file sharing.

copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) from the old computer to the exact same location on the new machine.
your iDevice will just continue to sync with the same old library as if nothing happend.

How to join a client PC to WS2012E R2 that's already a member of another enterprise domain using the skip domain join registry entry?

In WSE12 R1 you can install the connector application on a Windows 7 PC that has already been joined to a corporate domain using the skip domain registry key:
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Server\ClientDeployment" /v SkipDomainJoin /t REG_DWORD /d 1
Upon doing so, the client PC is then able to perform client backups to the WSE12 R1 server but remains a member of the original corporate domain. This is no longer possible when using this registry key when installing the Windows Server 2012 Essentials
R2 connector
Is anyone aware of a way to install the WSE12 R2 connector and skip domain join without first leaving the corporate domain?
I am avoiding moving to WSE12 R2 until I can figure out a way to accomplish this.

How to retrieve iPhoto photos

I have recently had to wipe clean my system, and reinstall everything. Before doing so, I transferred what I thought were ALL of my files, only to realize I had “forgotten” my iPhoto library.
After re-establishing everything, I realized all of my photos were gone. I was able to retrieve photos from an old computer, and load them into iPhoto.They are my photos up to 2007.
I had been using Carbon Copy Cloner for backing up, but have never used it to Restore anything. I copied some information from CCC to iPhoto, and when I open iPhoto, it shows Libraries for 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. They have check marks next to them , but no photos.
I saved the CCC archives, and the most comprehensive folder I see is Pictures/iPhoto Library dec 2013/Database/apdb/etc., etc..
That folder contains BigBlobs_apdb-journal, Faces.db_journel, History.apdb_journel, ImageProxies.apdb_journel, Library.apdb_journel, Properties.apdb_journel.
There is also a folder Faces/FaceNames with a couple file in it.
As you see I am totally ignorant about the structure of iPhoto. I’m still of the old school where you copied and pasted files . Obviously that’s not how iPhoto works.
Can anyone suggest if any of the information I still have can be useful in recapturing my lost photos. I only have one other Folder in my CCC archive with anything related to iPhoto. This was the most comprehensive.

When trying to use IPhoto I couldn't find it, checking online said I needed to buy ILife...checked our initial package it should have been bundled it was. We only had PREVIEW on the listed items. I found the install bundled software disk and IPhoto loaded but not is says "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library...The only update we would have received is from the automatic downloads. What happened to iPhoto to turn it into PREVIEW on the application bar at the bottom of the screen?

We have MAC OS X 10.5.8. When opening the system profiler iPhoto is listed though won't open. IMac purchased 8/9/09 using original software, though, updates from Apple have occured I do not know if a newer version came in during any software update procedures.

I added a gift card to our master iTunes account for my grandson, and even though he's a family sharing group member, none of the purchases I have approved from his requests have used the gift card credit. A search of the iTunes support site failed to turn up anything that even remotely addresses this topic. It would seem reasonable to assume that any purchase made by any family member should be able to use the gift card credit since all purchases go through the master account, but this does not appear to be the case.

Regarding redeeming the gift card to the child's account, it is the same as redeeming to yours. You have to be signed in to the iTunes store using the child's apple ID, then redeem the gift card there. If you already redeemed the card on your ID, you won't be able to redeem it again.
