Does anyone know how to retrieve messages that haven't been backed up
Even if you haven't backed up your iPhone manually, there is still possibility that your iPhone was automatically backed up with iTunes or iCloud. Every time you sync your iPhone with iTunes, iTunes will create a backup of your iPhone automatically. If you have enabled iCloud, every time your iPhone is connected to Wifi and a power source, and the screen is locked, iCloud will automatically back up your iPhone files. So try to restore your iPhone with iTunes or iCloud backups if you find backup files and you are sure that the lost messages are included, see the guide:

Just got back from holiday. Set up a rule before I went to tell people I was away. When I get back there are hundreds of messages saying the following:

Get rid of the home-made Mail rule you used for your vacation message and don't use it again. As Roger says, your rule created an "infinite mail loop" somehow. -
Help - how to restore playlists that have not been backed-up...
hi All - some help required please!
my itunes library has been getting bigger and bigger so a few days ago I decided to transfer all my itunes media to an external drive to free up space on my internal drive... So far so good, all 106gb of the music and movies have transferred across and iTunes can find it all etc.
MY PROBLEM:
the problem is that now all my playlists have gone, ie they are still shown in iTunes down the left side, but they are empty
All the playlists are still active and present on my ipod, since I haven't yet reconnected it. I also have a couple on my iphone, also not yet reconnected.
Is there a way to restore my deleted playlists (obviously not manually!), perhaps by synching my ipod to itunes, although I suspect this might simply delete the playlists from my ipod?
A bit more detail on how I transferred my iTunes media: I copied the iTunes music folder (which includes movies) to my external hardrive. I then deleted the content from iTunes. I went to Preferences, Advanced and re-pointed my iTunes media location to my external drive. I then went File, Add folder to library and after a bit of time it was all there again... I am running iTunes 10 on a PC with Windows 7.
Any help or even better solutions much appreciated!!!
Thanks!Buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that supports your model of ipod and also supports getting playlists off of it. There is no transferring of playlists from ipod to itunes using itunes itself.

I'm not sure how you moved stuff around. If you used the itunes file > library > consolidate command to move the files to the exHD, your playlists shouldn't be empty. -
My iphone crashed... can i get back photos that haven't been backed up?
I have an iphone 4 and i am at the end of a holiday. and today the iphone crashed...
it was appearing off rather than in screen lock and wouldn't start... plugged it in it looked like it was doing a hard restore with the apple logo there for ages. it then said i had 100% battery and that the time was 02:00 1st january and proceeded to ask me if i wanted to use location services and to plug it into itunes. it did appear however to have my old walpaper lock screen picture.... i am gutted and seriously hoping that i can retrieve the photos that were on it that i have taken the past week......as sadly they aren't backed up as i haven't made it to the computer yet. i have not yet restored the iphone via itunes and am hoping i can get the photos back somehow first..... please?!!! I'm not sure which operating system i am on. it is the latest one (apart from the last update a week ago)Did you back them up to iCloud or your computer? If not they are gone for as long as the phone is.

I was using my notes earlier today and now for some reason they are all gone. How does this happen and is there anything I can do to get them back, the new ones also that haven't been synced.

If it's on iMessage go to another iMessage device that's currently set up with your account and it might be there. If it's a normal text, go online or contact your provider to see your incomming and outgoing messages.

There are so many accounts that haven't been logged out yet. how can i block my old macbook? (block from everything like it cant be used at all again)
It should be unnecessary to point out that leaving one's computer logged into anything that requires security is foolhardy. The reason there's a login process is so you will have the opportunity to log out and thereby secure your account. Failing to do so completely defeats the purpose and leaves you wide open to catastrophic consequences.

The SIM card In my iPhone 5 has been giving me occasional messages that there has been a SIM Failure, there is NO SIM, or that there is an INVALID SIM. Until today, I was able to restart it with no problem and the SIM card would start up. This afternoon the NO SIM message came up and I cannot fix it. What is my next step? I am traveling in Canada now and it is not convenient to come back to the States just to get a SIM card.

If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management -
I just saw a message that iWeb has been discontinued by Apple. It suggested changing to EverWeb. Has anyone used this or do you have another recommendation?

With Windows 7 Home Premium, whenever I start iTunes, I get a message that colors have been reverted to Windows Basic because iTunes won't support my Windows Aero configuration. Is there a fix for the incompatibility? I don't mind the color changes, but I'm having an external speaker problem that could be related to the incompatibility (at random times--usually several hours after start-up, my external speakers--connected via my Samsung Central Station's wireless docking station and computer-installed dongle--shut off and won't play until I restart. I've investigated other options, but iTunes may be the problem.) Thanks.
Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
Trying to make a Xmas Card in iPhoto on my Mac i5. When card is made I hit "Buy Card", but I get "card incomplete" because it says there are empty photo templates that haven't been filled. Only I have filled them all!. There are no empty ones left to fill! Now what?

Some text do look like they were final texts, that cannot be filled, but they are also place holders, for example the "Season's Greetings".Have you really clicked on each and every text, to see if they need filling in? -

The first back up to iCloud may take some considerable time. Just how long isn't really possible to say without knowing how much is in your back up and your connection speed. -
I updated my iphone 4s on my computer - I lost a lot of pictures - it gave me messages that I had sent back in June and now it wont allow me to play any of my itunes on my phone - any got any solutions to what I should do? HELP
I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.
