I want to run this query...

it give me .. 1.0011E+63
Which I DO NOT NEED
I need numbers not string since extract or extract vlaue will return string AND using getNumberVal() will give me this strange result
I need it since I want to compare the result with data from relational table

I am new to XML. So any best guidance is appreciated.
The application requirement is to display image retrived from uploaded xml file in file upload section of our application. And store that image in database.
In my XML file , images & strings & numbers & booleans are there . I am able to save everything in database except images .
I am using JSF, Seam & Hibernate combination. In my Hibernate entity class i took BLOB datatype for image.
I am using following tags in my Xhtml file to display image

But image is not displayed in Xhtml file

Yes i need to have parallel flow for both and in the cube where my reporting will be on monthly basis i need to read these 2 master data and get the required attributes ( considering last/first day of that month as per the requirement).......but i am just wondering this is common scenario....while there are so many threads written for populating 0employee from 0person......don't they have such requirement.....

Indirect way could be converting the whole table (instead of one field) into XML format and then extract one field from it!!

i had a problem in retrieving the modified xml data.
Iam using apache's DOMParser
In the my class my xml data is stored in a string.so i used following statement to read xml data from that string:
String abc="<? xml version=... some data goes here"
InputSource in=new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(abc.getBytes()));
DOMParser domParser = new DOMParser();
domParser.parse(in);
Document doc = domParser.getDocument();
Element root = doc.getDocumentElement();
and i did some operations like adding ,removing and replacing elements etc.
It was fine when the checked the data.
but..i need my modified xml data as String.
is there any method to retrieve the modified xml data "as it is" in String?You can use XMLSerializer.
Here is an example that dump your document on the console:

How can I retrieve information from a MacOs Standard formatted floppy disk on Snow Lion?
I have this collection of old floppy disks that were formatted as MacOs Standard format back in the days. They do hold some files which I'd like to backup on a backup drive.
But, Snow Lion does not read MacOs Standard formatted disks apparently.
So, does anyone know how to retrieve information from MacOs Standard formatted floppy disks?

Interesting observations:
1. I was able to add and remove files to the disk.
2. I was not able to erase the disk with Disk Utility. It returned an error.
3. Disk Utility did not offer the HFS+ format option, only FAT32 and ExFAT.
4. I could only find 1 floppy in my house so it could be partially defective. -
How to remove Unicode from XML file
I get following error when unmarshal xml:
[java] org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x15) was found in the element content of the document.
Anyone know how to remove Unicode from xml file? Can I remove the unicode by rebuild the file?
ThanksThese sort of error usually occur when you're using a different character encoding to read the file than the one you wrote it with. Perhaps if you were to post the problem section of the file and/or the code that created it in the first place.

EvanelaThanks for your answer. I downloaded the JDBC AddressBook application and I found it very usefull. I was able to populate a datalist from a datasource and show it in my application. My problem still remains in the sense that I am unable to show the KPI data in a "custom node" meaning I woul like not only to extract directly the database record to a datalist object but also put the information of a single record in a textbok and a gauge and keep control of paging. I think this is done with the parser in the other examples but I can not figure out how to do it with MySQL and the new Desktop screen designer. Should I use a clip object? or is that managed already by the desktop screen designer? or where can I find an example with the functionality I need?.
